Shape up or ship out, CS tells Collectors
Hyderabad: State Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao will now assess the performance of the district Collectors directly every week. The Chief Secretary will hold a video conference every Tuesday and seek a report on the implementation of the schemes. He will also take a call if the Collectors failed to perform up to the expectations. In a video conference on Tuesday, the Chief Secretary explained to the Collectors about the state government's priorities and the expeditious implementation of the schemes. He reviewed the progress of Vana Mahotsavam, Indiramma housing scheme, availability of fertilizers, Oil Palm expansion, Bhu Bharathi, seasonal illnesses, TB Mukt Bharat and medical colleges requirements, etc. Ramakrishna Rao exhorted the Collectors to think innovatively to make a lasting impact in the lives of the people. He said that there is a tremendous scope for the Collectors to take up the development and welfare programmes of the government in their districts, which will go a long way in the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. He said that hereafter, a video conference will be held every Tuesday. The Chief Secretary asked the Collectors to review the progress of Indiramma houses and issue sanction proceedings. They should also ensure that all the sanctioned houses are grounded immediately. Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao told the district collectors that sufficient quantities of fertilizer stocks are available; therefore Collectors have to ensure that no panic buying or hoarding should take place anywhere in the state. The special officers should visit the fertilizer dealers in their respective districts and take stock of the situation, he said. On oil palm, he asked the Collectors to identify large areas in their districts to take up oil palm plantations. The Chief Secretary informed that more than 8 lakh applications were received during the revenue sadassus held across the state. He asked the Collectors to personally monitor the applications and take steps to dispose of them with a humane approach. He asked them to be alert on the spread of transmissible illnesses and vector borne diseases due to the onset of the monsoon season. On TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, he asked the District Collectors to prepare a plan of action and also conduct a convergence meeting involving DMHOs, Hospital Superintendents, Red Cross and Indian Medical Association. The Chief Secretary asked the District Collectors to take stock of the requirements of Medical Colleges, especially from HR perspective and take appropriate steps.

‘Dharti Aaba' campaign: Special camps in tribal villages of Chamarajanagar
As part of the 'Dharti Aaba Jan Jatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan', a series of special awareness and facilitation camps will be held from June 15 to 30 in 11 tribal villages of Chamarajanagar district. The initiative targets villages where the population of the Scheduled Tribes (ST) exceed 50%, with the goal of empowering tribal communities to access various government welfare schemes. The campaign aims at providing essential documentation support and raise awareness about schemes offered by both the Central and State governments. The identified villages include Bedaguli, Kannegala, Yanagahalli, and Mel Mal in Chamarajanagar taluk; Thondavadi, Somanapura, and Madduru in Gundlupet taluk; Agar, Biligiriranganabetta (B.R. Hills), and D. Kandahalli in Yelandur taluk; and Palya in Kollegal taluk. Seventeen government departments are collaborating to implement around 25 key welfare schemes during the campaign. Nodal officers have been appointed at both the district and taluk levels to oversee operations and ensure effective delivery of services, a press release said. The camps will offer assistance in availing oneself of various schemes and services, including Aadhaar enrolment, Jan Dhan bank account opening, Kisan Credit Cards, insurance schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Ayushman Bharat Health Card (ABHA), screening and awareness on sickle cell anaemia and tuberculosis under the TB Mukt Bharat initiative, immunisation under the Indradhanush Mission, domicile, caste, and income certificates, MGNREGA job cards, social security pensions (old age, widow, disability), livelihood schemes including PM Vishwakarma, MUDRA loans, and MGNREGA, women and child welfare programmes such as PM Matru Vandana Yojana and ICDS services and updating of vaccination records, the release stated. The camps will be held from June 16 to 27 at Madduru colony, Tribal Ashrama School (Gundlupet taluk); Kannegala, Maramma Temple (Chamarajanagar taluk); Thondavadi, Nayakara Beedi Chowdi (Gundlupet taluk); Yanagahalli, Valmiki Bhavan (Chamarajanagar taluk); Agar village, Hindimaramma Temple premises (Yelandur taluk); Somanapura, Anganwadi Building (Gundlupet taluk); D. Kandahalli, Nayakara Beedi Chowdi (Yelandur taluk); Muratipalya Tribal Ashrama School (Mel Mal village, Chamarajanagar taluk); Yerakanagadde Colony (Soliga Bhavan) and Bangale Podu Valmiki Bhavan (B.R. Hills area); Palya Gram Panchayat premises (Kollegal taluk) and Bedaguli, TVS Coffee Estate (Chamarajanagar taluk). Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag has urged all eligible tribal residents in the selected villages to attend the camps on the designated dates and make full use of the services and documentation support provided.

Collector calls for timely resolution of public grievances
Gooty: District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V on Monday directed officials to resolve all PGRS (Public Grievances Redressal System) petitions within the stipulated time. Addressing the grievances at the 'Praja Samasya Parishkara Vedika' held at Vasudha Function Hall in Gooty town, the Collector personally received 490 petitions from the public and stressed that officers at all levels—including village and mandal officials—must act sincerely and promptly. He warned that action would be taken against negligent officers if unresolved grievances were brought to his notice during field visits. Aadhar-linked tracking has been introduced to avoid duplicate petitions, and officials were instructed to thoroughly review past unresolved issues. He also emphasized inter-departmental coordination by making phone numbers of concerned officials accessible for better petition handling. The Collector, along with other district officials including Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, and various departmental heads, participated in the event. On this occasion, TB Mukt Bharat campaign posters and pamphlets were also released.

Collector urges people to strive for TB-free society
Eluru: District Collector K Vetriselvi has called upon people to strive for a tuberculosis-free society. She unveiled awareness posters and pamphlets on tuberculosis eradication as part of the intensified TB Mukt Bharat campaign at the Collectorate here on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, she said that the Central and State governments are taking special steps to prevent tuberculosis. Under the TB Poshan Abhiyan, tests will be conducted for tuberculosis patients and medicines will be provided free of cost. Those with symptoms should get tested at the nearest health centres and take medicines. Under the Prime Minister's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, anyone can adopt a TB patient and register as a Nikshay Mitra. For this, they can contact the Ni-Kshay Sampark helpline 1800-11-6666 toll-free. TB should be defeated not only through treatment but also through prevention. The Collector suggested officials strive for removing misconceptions about this disease and proper precautions should be taken. She said that in the current situation where technology has developed, the diagnosis of this disease has become easier. By identifying every case, this disease can be completely eradicated. Cough alone is not a sign of TB. If anyone experiences symptoms such as a sudden change in physical health, a cough with sputum, blood in the sputum, fever, chest pain, fatigue, nausea, or hives or swelling in any part of the body, they should contact the nearest health care provider, she said. DMHO Dr R Malini, DIO Dr Nageswara Rao and others participated in the programme.
