Collector calls for timely resolution of public grievances
Addressing the grievances at the 'Praja Samasya Parishkara Vedika' held at Vasudha Function Hall in Gooty town, the Collector personally received 490 petitions from the public and stressed that officers at all levels—including village and mandal officials—must act sincerely and promptly.
He warned that action would be taken against negligent officers if unresolved grievances were brought to his notice during field visits. Aadhar-linked tracking has been introduced to avoid duplicate petitions, and officials were instructed to thoroughly review past unresolved issues.
He also emphasized inter-departmental coordination by making phone numbers of concerned officials accessible for better petition handling.
The Collector, along with other district officials including Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, and various departmental heads, participated in the event. On this occasion, TB Mukt Bharat campaign posters and pamphlets were also released.

Anantapur: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign will be celebrated in a grand manner across Anantapur district from August 5 to 15, announced In-Charge District Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma. The District Tourism Officer will act as the nodal officer to coordinate activities with all departments, following the government's schedule at village, mandal, and district levels. On August 5, all staff will take and upload selfies with the national flag. August 6 will feature patriotic songs, dramas, Tiranga-themed school decorations, quizzes, and workshops. On August 12, NREGS workers and local leaders will hoist flags at 2023 plaques, alongside Swachh Bharat and Jal Jeevan activities. August 13 will honour freedom fighters, conduct Tiranga rallies, human chains, and patriotic song performances. August 14 will have Tiranga yatras led by mandal, village, and ward secretaries. The campaign concludes on August 15 with flag hoisting in all government offices and public participation to mark Independence Day. The Collector urged citizens to actively join the celebrations and make the Har Ghar Tiranga programme a success.

KADA chief stresses timely resolution of public grievances
Kuppam (Chittoor District): KuppamArea Development Authority (KADA) Project Director Vikas Marmat has directed officials to promptly resolve the grievances submitted through the Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS). Chairing the PGRS programme held on Monday, Marmat stressed the need for time-bound redressal of issues raised by the public. The redressal session, organised under the aegis of KADA, saw participation from mandal and divisional-level officials representing various departments. Citizens submitted petitions related to pensions, land disputes, employment issues, healthcare concerns, and more. Speaking at the event, Marmat instructed the concerned departments to prioritise long-pending applications and ensure that all grievances are addressed within the stipulated deadlines. 'Each grievance must be handled with urgency and resolved within the given timeframe,' he said, urging officials to maintain transparency and accountability in the process. All received petitions were documented and forwarded to the respective departments for further action. The initiative aimed to provide a direct platform for the public to voice their concerns and seek resolution in a streamlined manner.

Sheltering those evicted will harm natives: CM
1 2 Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday cautioned citizens against providing refuge to evicted individuals, warning that such actions could reverse the progress achieved through ongoing anti-encroachment efforts aimed at empowering indigenous people. "Our people are conscious now. A lot of work is to be done and if people cooperate with us, we will be able to do it and protect our 'jati' (community)," he told media on the sidelines of an event in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The CM said about 29 lakh bighas (more than 9.5 lakh acres) of land is still under encroachment in the state. He clarified that unauthorised occupation by indigenous Assamese is not considered encroachment, and no Indian or Assamese will be evicted. Without naming any community, Sarma blamed the encroachers for a host of issues, including turning forests into betelnut farms and fisheries. He linked these activities to what he termed as "land jihad" and "love jihad", saying, "We are the ones suffering, yet they shed tears." He reaffirmed his commitment to reclaiming public lands—VGRs, PGRs, Satras, Namghars, and forest areas—stating that 1.29 lakh bighas (over 42,500 acres) have already been cleared in the past four years. He claimed these lands were occupied by "illegal Bangladeshis and doubtful citizens." He also praised Nagaland's cooperation during the recent Uriamghat eviction and emphasized that unauthorized occupation by indigenous Assamese will not be treated as encroachment. The chief minister had earlier said 1.29 lakh bighas (over 42,500 acres) of land have been cleared of encroachment in the last four years, claiming that these huge tracts were under possession of "illegal Bangladeshis and doubtful citizens". He had asserted that all unauthorised occupation of VGR (village grazing reserve), PGR (professional grazing reserve), satras, namghars, forest land and other public areas would be cleared in a phased manner.
