Collector calls for timely resolution of public grievances
Gooty: District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V on Monday directed officials to resolve all PGRS (Public Grievances Redressal System) petitions within the stipulated time.
Addressing the grievances at the 'Praja Samasya Parishkara Vedika' held at Vasudha Function Hall in Gooty town, the Collector personally received 490 petitions from the public and stressed that officers at all levels—including village and mandal officials—must act sincerely and promptly.
He warned that action would be taken against negligent officers if unresolved grievances were brought to his notice during field visits. Aadhar-linked tracking has been introduced to avoid duplicate petitions, and officials were instructed to thoroughly review past unresolved issues.
He also emphasized inter-departmental coordination by making phone numbers of concerned officials accessible for better petition handling.
The Collector, along with other district officials including Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, and various departmental heads, participated in the event. On this occasion, TB Mukt Bharat campaign posters and pamphlets were also released.

ANANTAPUR: The Anantapur–KSR Bengaluru MEMU train (No. 66560) was formally flagged off at the Anantapur Railway Station by MP Ambika Lakshminarayana, Anantapur Collector Vinod Kumar V, Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha, and railway officials on Wednesday. The MP, MLA and railway officials travelled to Prasannayanapalli station onboard the train. Calling the new train a major achievement, the MP offered affordable travel for employees, traders, patients, and students. 'Thanks to PM Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Union Railway Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and V Somanna as this long-standing demand has been fulfilled,' he said. The proposed improvements include a Guntakal-Bangalore train, having stoppage at Anantapur, and station upgradation. The Centre allocated Rs 500 crore for Guntakal division and Rs 50 crore for Anantapur modernisation.

Anantapur-Bengaluru MEMU train flagged off
Anantapur: Fulfilling the long-standing aspiration of Anantapur district people, MEMU train service (Train No. 66560) from Anantapur to KSR Bengaluru was officially launched on Wednesday at Anantapur railway station. The train was flagged off by Anantapur MP Ambica Lakshminarayana and district Collector Dr Vinod Kumar V, Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha, DGM Udayanath, DRM Chandra Shekhar Gupta, AHUDA Chairman TC Varun, and others were present. The MP, MLAs, and railway officials travelled on the inaugural run from Anantapur to Prasannayanapalli railway station. MP Ambica lauded that the introduction of this train service between Anantapur and Bengaluru was made possible through the committed efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and V Somanna. 'We held several rounds of discussions with railway officials and pursued approvals from various railway courts with determination,' he said, adding that this train will be a great asset to employees, businesspeople, students, and patients. With just Rs 50, passengers can now travel to Bengaluru. The train has been expanded from 8 to 12 coaches. The MP said that they are also appealing to the Central government to introduce a direct train from Guntakal to Bengaluru. The Centre has allocated Rs 500 crore for Guntakal division development and Rs 50 crore for the upgrade of Anantapur railway station. Plans are underway to develop Dharmavaram, Tadipatri, and Hindupur stations. Establishing watering facilities at Anantapur station, introducing Vijayawada–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, ensuring stoppages of key trains like Machilipatnam Express and Rajdhani Express at Anantapur, setting up underpasses in Rayalacheruvu and Pamidi regions. RDO Keshava Naidu, EDCC Chairman Keshava Reddy, Urban Bank Chairman Murali, DCMS Chairman Nettem Venkateswarlu, Valmiki Sangham director Eshwar, Medical Board members Ramana and Narasimhulu, and railway officials Station Master Ashok Kumar and others were present.

Ensure speedy disposal of petitions
Nellore: Joint Collector and also in-charge Collector K Karthik on Monday expressed displeasure over the inordinate delay in disposing the petitions received during Public Grievance Redress System (PGRRS). He pointed out that such kind of situation leads to reopening of the petitions as the victims repeatedly submits their issues. He directed the officials concerned to ensure speedy disposal of petitions that were received during PGRRS to avoid unrest among the victims. Stressing that the government is giving top priority to settle the problems received during PGRS, he instructed the officials to work according to the wishes of the government by considering the issues under humanitarian grounds. Meanwhile, the officials received petitions, mostly related to pensions, white ration cards, land disputes including land grabbing, 10-1 Adangal, border problems between two fields, pattadar passbooks, house sites.
