TCA Awards: 2025 Winners Are ‘The Pitt,' ‘The Studio,' and More

The television critics have spoken. The Pitt wins for Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Outstanding New Program, and Individual Achievement in Drama for lead actor Noah Wyle. You've written some lovely things about me through the years and about my shows, especially this one.' Winning Individual Achievement in Comedy at the 2025 TCAs was Somebody Somewhere star Bridget Everett, who said, 'I am beyond grateful to be honored for this show, which has meant so much to me. ‘Severance' leads Television Critics Association Awards nominations with 5

Severance is very much in(nie) with the Television Critics Association. The Apple TV+ drama topped Wednesday's 41st TCA Awards nominations with five nominations haul includes Program of the Year, drama series, and triple bids in Individual Achievement in Drama for Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and Tramell shows are tied with four nominations apiece: Adolescence, Hacks, The Pitt, and The Studio. All four plus Severance will compete in Program of the Year alongside Andor, The Rehearsal, and The White year, TCA dropped down to six slots per category after expanding to eight in 2021, but it has now reverted to eight. No reason was given for last year's or this year's was also unprecedented double-dipping last year by three shows — Baby Reindeer, Ripley, and Fargo — which were nominated in both drama and limited. There is no such case this drama series, Severance faces Andor, Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire, Industry, The Last of Us, Matlock, The Pitt, and The White Lotus. After scoring five bids for its first season in 2023, The Last of Us only nabbed one nomination for its sophomore Achievement in Drama has nine nominees. Scott, Lower, and Tillman will duke it out against Jacob Anderson (Interview With the Vampire), Kathy Bates (Matlock), Owen Cooper (Adolescence), Stephen Graham (Adolescence), Diego Luna (Andor), and Noah Wyle (The Pitt). There are only two women in the lineup, which stacks the odds against the category to crown its 10th consecutive female winner. Last year, Anna Sawai (Shōgun) prevailed. The last male champ was Jon Hamm (Mad Men) in is the fourth show to earn three Individual Achievement in Drama nominations in the same year after The Practice in 1999, The West Wing in 2000, and Succession in 2023. The Practice's and The West Wing's triple plays are arguably more impressive as they occurred in fields of five (Succession's was also in a field of nine). Of these, only The Practice notched a win, for David E. Kelley in a tie with James Gandolfini (The Sopranos). Gandolfini also triumphed in 2000. Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) won in 2023, becoming the first supporting player to win the comedy, Hacks will go for back-to-back series victories against 2022 winner Abbott Elementary, English Teacher, Nobody Wants This, The Rehearsal, Shrinking, Somebody Somewhere, The Studio, and What We Do in the its drama counterpart, Individual Achievement in Comedy also has nine nominees. Jean Smart (Hacks) will aim for a record third win in the category. For the first time, her co-star Hannah Einbinder is nominated alongside her. The other nominees are Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Bridget Everett (Somebody Somewhere), Nathan Fielder (The Rehearsal), Harrison Ford (Shrinking), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary), Seth Rogen (The Studio), and Michelle Williams (Dying for Sex).Williams could make TCA Awards history as the first person to win both individual achievement categories. She took home the drama honor in 2019 for her eventual Emmy-winning turn on Fosse/ Bear, which received five and four nominations, respectively, the past two years, only received the sole bid for Coló limited series/TV movie/specials race features Adolescence, Agatha All Along, Disclaimer, Dying for Sex, The Penguin, Rebel Ridge, Say Nothing, and Sirens.A new rule this year stipulates that only ongoing shows are eligible for the new program category. The nominees are Common Side Effects, English Teacher, Matlock, Nobody Wants This, North of North, Paradise, The Pitt, and The and recipients of the Career Achievement and Heritage Awards will be announced later this summer. 2025 Television Critics Award Nominations Include ‘Severance,' ‘The Pitt,' ‘Hacks,' ‘Andor,' And ‘Adolescence,' Among Others

Adam Scott and Britt Lower in "Severance," now streaming on Apple TV+. Today, the Television Critics Association announced the shows and movies nominated for the 2025 TCA Awards. The 41st Annual TCA Award nominations show how big screen stars are continuing to make a major impact on the small screen, most evident in the individual categories where Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates and celebrated thespian Diego Luna are nominated for Individual Achievement in Drama. Hollywood icon Harrison Ford is competing in a crowded Individual Achievement in Comedy category featuring famed actor/comedian Seth Rogen and Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams. Elsewhere, CBS's groundbreaking, 25-year-old competition series Survivor will try to outwit, outlast, and outplay Outstanding Achievement in Reality entrants that include CBS's The Amazing Race, Bravo's Top Chef, and last year's winner, Peacock's The Traitors, to claim its first-ever TCA Award. Apple TV+'s Severance leads all series with five nominations, while Netflix's Adolescence, HBO's The Pitt and The Studio, also from Apple TV+, each earned four nods. Nominees will compete for accolades in 12 unique categories, recognizing exemplary performances and programming in Drama, Comedy, Miniseries, News and Information, Reality, Variety, Sketch or Talk Shows and more — leading up to the highly anticipated presentation of the esteemed Program of the Year Award. That category includes a wide ranges of series including new series The Pitt, Adolescence, The Studio, Andor and The Rehearsal. These shows will face stiff competition for the title against past award winner Hacks, as well as Severance, and The White Lotus. Vying for kudos in the Individual Achievement In Comedy are The Bear's Liza Colón-Zayas, The Rehearsal's Nathan Fielder, Harrison Ford from Shrinking, and Michelle Williams from Dying for Sex, along with Janelle Jones from Abbott Elementary, Somebody Somewhere's Bridget Everett, Seth Rogen from The Studio, and both Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart from Hacks. Smart took home the trophy in this category in both 2021 and 2024. Noah Wyler, who led the series The Pitt, has been nominated in the Individual Achievement In Drama category, which also includes Diego Luna from Andor, Matlock's Kathy Bates, and Jacob Anderson from Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. Also earning nominations in this category are Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham, both from Adolescence, along with three cast members of Severance — Britt Lower, Adam Scott, and Tramell Tillman. 'With these nominations, we honor the art of television and the artists who create it,' said TCA President Andy Dehnart, the founder and editor of reality blurred. 'Our members independently selected these nominees, having championed these shows and in their writing, reporting, and criticism throughout the past year.' The Television Critics Association (TCA) represents approximately 235 professional journalists who cover television for publications across the United States and Canada. The members reach tens of millions of consumers each week, and are considered experts within the industry, representing their employers as moderators, panelists, radio/TV guests and more. The prestigious organization honors outstanding achievements in television and enduring contributions to the medium's heritage through the TCA Awards each year. Below is the list of the 2025 Television Critics Association nominees, excluding the Career Achievement and Heritage Award winners, which, all with all of the other category winners, will be announced later this summer.
