TFC coach criticises team performance after PDRM FC draw
TERENGGANU FC (TFC) head coach Badrul Afzan Razali voiced frustration following his team's 2-2 draw against PDRM FC in the Super League. He highlighted poor finishing as the main reason for squandered opportunities despite strong home support. The slow start in the first half allowed PDRM FC to take an early lead before TFC fought back late. 'For tonight's match, our first 10 minutes were too slow. By the time PDRM FC had scored, we were trying to catch up... but our reaction came too late,' he said. Badrul Afzan also criticised the performance of TFC's foreign players, calling it unsatisfactory. The match took place at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in front of over 6,000 fans. Despite the result, he commended his players for their determination to chase a winner until the final whistle. 'The players must learn from the two goals we conceded. We need to address those mistakes and work towards another victory,' he added. PDRM FC coach Eddy Gapil @ Edwin admitted minor errors cost his team a potential victory. He praised his squad's overall effort, singling out Henri Doumbia for an exceptional performance. 'We have to admit it is not easy to come and play against TFC, one of the best teams in the country. Our open style of play can also be a dangerous weapon,' he said. Eddy acknowledged his team lost focus in the final 15 minutes under increased pressure from TFC. - Bernama

Brazilian Diego Landis completes TFC's import line-up for 2025 season
TERENGGANU FC (TFC) have finalised their foreign player roster for the 2025/2026 Malaysia League season with the signing of Brazilian defender Diego Landis. The 27-year-old becomes the club's fifth import player ahead of the league's kickoff on August 8. Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) acting chief executive officer Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain confirmed Landis' signing on a one-season deal. 'Landis' arrival will provide more options in central defence, especially following the departure of several key players at the end of last season,' he said in a statement. Standing at 1.93 metres, Landis is expected to bolster TFC's defensive stability. 'His presence will bring stability and composure to the back line, and in turn improve TFC's defensive record, which was below par last season,' Mohd Syahrizan added. The Brazilian defender, who previously played in the Thai League for Khon Kaen United and Nakhon Ratchasima, has already arrived in Terengganu and will begin fitness training this week. TFC had earlier secured four other foreign players: Yan Mabella, Gabriel Costa, Junior Ngong Sam, and Raianderson da Costa Morais, popularly known as Careca. - Bernama

Corporate figure to be new Terengganu FC CEO this season
TERENGGANU FC (TFC) will be led by a corporate figure as chief executive officer (CEO) this season. Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) chairman Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said the state FA has compiled a shortlist of several suitable candidates to lead the club, in line with the full privatisation plan for the club to move towards professional management. He said the final selection is underway and a closed interview would be conducted next week to select the most qualified and credible candidate to lead the club to greater heights. 'This time we will bring in a corporate figure to manage TFC. We need to fully embrace privatisation for the development of the club. 'We will announce the person as soon as possible, within this month after interviews and approval from the board of directors,' he said when met at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Terengganu Football Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) and the Terengganu Incorporated Group (Trg Inc) here today. At the ceremony, Trg Inc, represented by Chief Executive Officer Datuk Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed, handed over a sponsorship worth RM1.65 million to support TFC in the upcoming 2025/26 Malaysia League season. Burhanuddin said the sponsorship in the form of money and services represents a RM150,000 increase from the previous season. 'We believe that the strength of a football team does not solely depend on performance on the field, but also requires corporate backing, professional management and comprehensive community involvement. 'This collaboration is expected to increase brand engagement of government-related company Trg Inc across all TFC platforms,' he said.
