If you thought Alan Ritchson looked unrecognizable after gaining muscle for Reacher, wait until you see his latest look for Motor City. It's sure to make you do a double take.
Set in the 1970s, Motor City is Ritchson's bold new action film making its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Elevation Pictures tweeted a photo of Ritchson—still looking as brawny and bulked as ever. Dare we say he looks even beefier than he does as Jack Reacher? But this time, he's rocking a more rugged look, complete with a full beard and long hair that falls just above his shoulders.
Motor City stars Ritchson in the role of John Miller, a Detroit man released from prison, who unleashes a rampage of brutal vengeance on those who framed him. The Detroit-set thriller promises immersive visual storytelling along with choreographed and stylized action sequences."When a 70s-era everyman is framed by a ruthless local gangster, he emerges from prison determined to reclaim his life by any means necessary," the TIFF website reads.
Along with Ritchson, the star-studded cast also includes Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, and Pablo Schreiber, Ben McKenzie, Zoë Kravitz, and Natasha McElhone.
The screenplay comes from Chad St. John and is directed by Potsy Ponciroli.
"He's [Ritchson] very tall and very muscular, and he's very handsome. He's terrific as a mover. I think he wants to do some deeper work or rather different kinds of work than he's been doing, and that's a joy," Foster shared with Collider at TIFF Ritchson Turns Heads With Unrecognizable Look in First Image for New Thriller first appeared on Men's Fitness on Aug 6, 2025
