Early morning shooting leaves one dead, three injured in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called to 24th Street and Lister Avenue just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 28, on reports of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they found one man in a parking lot who had been shot. Officers requested paramedics and began first aid on the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. One man shot, several residences damaged in Raytown shooting: Police Later, Saturday afternoon, KCPD identified the victim as 40-year-old Antonio Jackson. At the scene, officers were notified of three additional victims who had also been shot at the location. One victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, a second victim was located at a residence near 39th and Chelsea and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and the third victim was found at 19th and Oak and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. KCPD says those victims are continuing recovery with what is thought to be non-life-threatening injuries. Police investigating homicide after body found inside Kansas City apartment
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A homicide investigation is underway after a person was found dead in a Kansas City apartment Sunday morning, Kansas City police reported. According to KCPD, at about 10 a.m., officers and Kansas City fire crews were called to an apartment near East Armour Road and Campbell Street on reports of a medical call. 2 taken to hospital after house fire in West Plaza neighborhood The caller told police they had come home and found a man unresponsive with 'unknown injuries' in their apartment. When officers arrived, they were taken inside the unit and found the victim unresponsive with injuries. The victim was eventually pronounced dead when emergency personnel arrived on the scene. At this time, homicide detectives are beginning their investigations and looking for potential witnesses. They are also working with crime scene investigators to determine the cause of death. According to KCPD, the homicide took place inside the apartment building with many potential witnesses. Police investigate shooting at Northland KC apartment after man dies at hospital
Police are investigating a shooting that killed one man in Kansas City's Cooley Highlands neighborhood Saturday morning. Officers responded just after 11 a.m. to the 3000 block of Northeast 37th Street after a call about the sound of gunfire. While officers were on their way to the scene, they were notified that a man arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds, said Jake Becchina, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman. Hospital staff told police the man was dropped off in a private vehicle and left there by himself. A short time later, the man died at the hospital from his injuries, Becchina said. Police have not yet publicly identified the man. Officers later found evidence that a shooting likely occurred inside an apartment building on 37th Street, Becchina said. Detectives have been canvassing the Northland neighborhood for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. The killing is Kansas City's 70th homicide this year, according to data maintained by The Star, which includes fatal police shootings. At this time last year, the city had recorded 67 homicides. Becchina said KCPD is asking for the public's help with information about the shooting. KCPD investigating after homicide near 29th, Wabash
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating a homicide near the 2900 block of Wabash on Sunday evening. Officers were called to scene on a reported shooting just before 8:30 p.m. When they arrived, they were directed to a residence on Wabash. They found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after. Police currently have nobody custody. This incident is still under investigation. Teenage girl critically injured in overnight Quindaro Park shooting
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A teenage girl is in the hospital with critical injuries after she was shot overnight in a Kansas City, Kansas, park. According to a , at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, deputies were called to Quindaro Park — located just north of Interstate 635, near Park Drive and Sewall Avenue — on reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they reported finding a Hispanic teenage girl suffering from gunshot wounds. The sheriff's office said a suspect has been identified and taken into custody.
