Former 'WWE SmackDown' Superstar Joins TNA Wrestling in Surprising Announcement
A former WWE superstar has joined the TNA Wrestling roster. The company has been making some key additions to its roster. The likes of former WWE star Elijah have joined the company. Lei Ying Lee, formerly known as Xia Li in WWE, is also a regular on TNA TV. Advertisement The latest addition to the TNA Knockouts division is Indi Hartwell. The announcement was made during the "TNA Rebellion 2025" broadcast. Gia Miller interviewed Hartwell on the show, and she will appear on Thursday's live episode of "TNA iMPACT." This is the first major company Hartwell has signed with since her WWE release. Hartwell was cut from the WWE roster in Nov. 2024. Her most recent match took place at "HOG City of Dreamz" on March 15 against AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. During her time in WWE, Hartwell was aligned with Dexter Lumis, Candice LeRae, and Johnny Gargano on the "NXT" brand. On the main roster, she teamed with LeRae. Eventually, LeRae was paired with Nia Jax, but Hartwell was let go. Advertisement Hartwell is a former NXT Women's Champion. While she wasn't able to find much success on the main roster, a run in TNA Wrestling will be a significant opportunity for her to elevate her career. WWE's partnership with TNA Wrestling certainly won't hurt Hartwell's chances of raising her stock if she performs well. Hartwell's first feud isn't known at this time, but that could be answered on "TNA iMPACT." She got a front-row look at the TNA Knockouts Championship match between Masha Slamovich and Tessa Blanchard. Related: Details on Former WWE Star's Return to 'AEW Dynamite' on Wednesday

Former WWE NXT champion Indi Hartwell officially signs with top promotion
Image via WWE Months after her WWE release, Indi Hartwell has finally made a major move and signed with a top wrestling company. Indi Hartwell was one of the top prospects in the WWE for a long time. However, her main roster stint was nowhere close to the success she claimed in WWE NXT. This led to her release from the company in December 2024. Following that, Hartwell wrestled majorly on the independent circuit and for wrestling promotions in her home country. However, months after leaving the global juggernaut, Hartwell returned to the mainstream and signed with its partner company, TNA Wrestling . Indi Hartwell became a major name to sign with TNA Wrestling At the recent TNA Rebellion 2025 pay-per-view, Indi Hartwell was spotted sitting ringside for the show. In the final hour of the event, TNA interviewer Gia Miller came to her to make a huge announcement. She revealed that Indi Hartwell was the newest signee to the TNA Knockouts division. The former WWE NXT Champion was overwhelmed with the applause of the fans upon the announcement. She said, "It's a dream come true for me, and I wanna say, it's officially official, Indi Hartwell has crossed the line." Indi Hartwell becoming a part of the Knockouts division could be a huge move to elevate the roster with her prime skills and acumen as an in-ring competitor. Indi Hartwell had one of the most remarkable stints in WWE's developmental territory, NXT. She was a top fixture for the brand and even won the NXT Women's Championship at one point. This led to her call-up to the main roster, and she was assigned to the SmackDown brand. However, she was not utilized properly and given limited television time, leading to her popularity taking a huge hit. In December 2024, Indi Hartwell was shockingly released from WWE. However, she had no hard feelings for the company and had praise for them for everything they gave her. Moreover, with WWE and TNA having a multi-year partnership agreement in place, Hartwell is back close to her old territory. With the Australian star starting a new journey as a Knockout, it will be interesting to see if she can replicate the same success she had in WWE NXT. Edinburgh's Joe Hendry speaks out after WrestleMania debut branded 'glorified squash match'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Edinburgh's Joe Hendry has spoken out for the first time after his WrestleMania debut was dubbed a 'glorified squash match'. The wrestling champ sparked wild crowd reactions when he entered as Randy Orton's unexpected opponent in Las Vegas on Sunday. However, the match lasted just under three minutes and ended with the WWE legend delivering a decisive RKO to land the pin and the win. Orton brought Hendry to his feet and lifted his arm to draw respect from the crowd before landing another shock RKO for good measure, reports the Daily Record. Many TNA and WWE fans felt this was disrespectful to snuff out the popular athlete in such dismissive fashion given the magnitude of the occasion. The quick defeat sparked debate online about how the match was booked and whether it diminished TNA's prestige. And Hendry broke his silence during an appearance on SiriusXM's 'Busted Open Radio' where he admits he "disagrees" with that view. "The offense was back and forth, whereas a squash, to me, it could have been 'ding, ding, RKO,' there you go," Hendry said. "For me, what I was thinking about, my different title reigns are defined by different things. When Josh Alexander was TNA World Champion, it was classic match after classic match. My job as TNA Champion and what defines this reign is business and getting as many eyeballs on TNA Wrestling as possible." All of a sudden, I'm going to say I'm too good to do that? To me, that's exactly how it should have gone." Later in the interview, Hendry revealed advice and encouragement he received from WWE legend and Celtic admirer CM Punk following the match backstage at Allegiant Stadium. "Do you know what CM Punk told me," Hendry began. "We had a great conversation after, CM Punk told me, 'That's exactly how it should've gone.'
