The Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan Details Production Protocol for Mid-Race Fender Benders
A lot of varying factors can come between The Amazing Race contestants and a million dollars. Fender benders on the road? Those are extremely high on that list. In Thursday's Season 37 finale (read our recap here) Han and Holden suffered that exact fate while trying to navigate to Miami's Domino Park in the race's final leg. But we were curious! What is the exact protocol from a production standpoint when accidents happen on the road? And what about other vehicular laws that may vary from country to country? The Amazing Race Winners Prepared to Compete by Going to Therapy Together According to host Phil Keoghan, teams are (obviously) supposed to abide by the local road rules and speed limits no matter where they are in the world. And they absolutely must stop and address any arising issue, no matter how much time it costs them. 'We make the teams accountable,' the host tells TVLine. 'If they get a speeding ticket, that's on them. We're not going to just pick up the bill and get them off the hook.' The crew will also give teams verbal warnings if they see a driver speeding or if they feel unsafe with any particular driver. '[It's] almost like you've got a policeman in the car saying, 'Hey, slow down,'' Keoghan adds. 'And then if they continue to do it, they'll get penalized. So they can have a double, meaning we can give them a penalty for exceeding the limit or if crew feels unsafe because of the driving practices. Then there's also police monitoring what's going on in the real world, and if in the real world, the police catch them speeding, then they're going to suffer the consequences.' Luckily for the brother and sister duo, Holden's Spanish skills came in handy when they pulled over, as he was able to address the situation and appease the other driver. Despite getting back on the road within a reasonable amount of time, no amount of sly talk and begging could help them claim that first place spot (but you can read our Q&A with the Season 37 winners here). When Will Trent Season 3 cut to black, not one, but two beloved characters' lives were in grave danger. While defending her precinct against members of a local terrorist group, GBI Deputy Director Amanda Wagner (played by original cast member Sonja Sohn) took a bullet to the sternum. She survived surgery, but doctors warned that the next 48 hours would be 'critical.' When TVLine caught up with Richardson at the Disney Upfront in New York City Tuesday, the actress inferred that she fully expects Ormewood to recover in Season 4, and that Faith would play a pivotal role in his recovery. But when pressed on the possibility of losing Amanda — who's not only her boss, but practically her aunt due to Amanda's lifelong friendship with Evelyn — Richardson was less certain that her character would be able to soldier on. 'That would break her,' she said. 'If anything were to happen to her — which, I highly doubt anything would — but when she realizes what has happened to Amanda, that is going to be something that is going to be a pivotal moment in Faith's life, for sure.' Richardson's co-star, Jake McLaughlin, didn't seem particularly worried about Ormewood's fate, either. (If he was worried, he's got the best poker face in the game.) He did, however, reveal what was most difficult about preparing for final scene of the year. And because we didn't want to end on a downer, we asked about some of Ormewood's more lighthearted moments in Season 3, at which point McLaughlin lit up and reminisced about shooting a very memorable disco sequence for Episode 13. YOU Series Finale Almost Ended Very Differently for Joe Goldberg: ‘We Were Not All on the Same Page'
With the final season of YOU still claiming a spot in Netflix's Top 10, fans are clearly savoring every last moment they can spend with Badgley's literal ladykiller, which feels oddly appropriate, considering the series finale ends with Joe Goldberg breaking the fourth wall to judge people who fangirl over monsters such as himself. Speaking of that series finale, it concludes with (spoiler alert!) Joe getting exposed for his many heinous crimes and spending the rest of his days behind bars. But the Lifetime-turned-Netflix drama almost reached a very different conclusion, and it would have been just as divisive as the ending we got. 'We debated it as a room. We were on the same page in terms of him getting his comeuppance, having to face what he is, and giving a voice to the victims and to the loved ones of the victims. We were all very much on the same page about all of that, but when it came down to the specifics of his capture versus death versus seeing him in court and all of that, there were just too many ways to go — and we were not all on the same page.' So, what happened? Basically, the powers that be eventually decided death was 'too easy' an out for ol' Joe. 'We thought he needed to be punished, and we liked the idea of him being in a cage of his own, not being able to enjoy the touch of somebody he loves, and being completely powerless,' Foley explained. The Pitt's Noah Wyle Explains Why Collins Was M.I.A. at End of Season 1
Tracy Ifeachor's absence from the final four episodes of The Pitt did not go unnoticed by fans — and in a new interview, series star/executive producer Noah Wyle addresses the decision to have her character, Dr. Heather Collins, scrub out before everyone else. Collins was last seen in Episode 11, during a tender exchange that revealed the depth of her relationship with Dr. Robby. She confided in her ex about her recent IVF journey that ended in miscarriage earlier that day, then revealed that she got pregnant while they were dating but chose to have an abortion. By the time our department chief got word that there had been a mass shooting at PittFest, his senior resident was incommunicado. 'Very deep sleeper, that Collins,' Wyle jokes on 'The Watch' podcast. He then explains why it was necessary that she remain unreachable for the remainder of Robby's increasingly taxing shift. 'The whole end of the season is just removing bearing walls from Robby's life,' Wyle says. 'He leans so heavily on Collins and Langdon, and then you take them both away from him… he leans so heavily on Dana, and then she becomes compromised… and then his one last relationship to Jake is severed when he can't save his girlfriend.' The thinking was, 'let's take away all this guy's support system and have him out there [alone].' If Collins had been there, Wyle says, 'I think she would have maybe been one of those voices that could have reached [Robby], and we didn't want him to be reachable.' As TVLine previously reported, Season 2 of The Pitt will premiere in January 2026, and pick up roughly 10 months later, on Fourth of July weekend. That will coincide with Langdon's first day back at work after he reluctantly agrees to seek help for his opioid abuse. 'We'll see everybody [from Season 1], for the most part,' series creator R. Scott Gemmill said. 'Some people might be working different hours and different shifts, but it's pretty much the same crew.' Season 2 will also address Robby's mental health, and his efforts to get 'healthy again' after his trip up to the roof at the end of Season 1. Ryan Guzman Wants Eddie's 9-1-1 Mustache Back — Together, We Can Make His Dream a Reality
9-1-1 fans have had to say goodbye to a number of beloved cast members over the past eight seasons, but one recent departure felt like an especially personal attack, and the viewers want — nay, deserve — justice. I'm referring to Eddie Diaz…'s mustache, which became a social media sensation back in July 2024, a full two months before making its official on-air debut in the Season 8 premiere. There was just something about it. Something undeniable. Something poetic. And not in a fun, Village People kind of way. You see, after losing his son to Texas over the affair he had with his dead ex-wife's look-alike (this show!), Eddie began Season 8 in a pretty dark place, and his new facial hair was deemed a 'disguise' to hide from the joy he no longer felt he deserved. That's why, after only six episodes, the mustache made a dramatic exit from Eddie's face. During my recent interview with Ryan Guzman about the second half of Season 8, he told me that Eddie is 'going to gain a lot' in the coming weeks, so I followed up with a question that any sane person would ask: Is there a chance Eddie will ever 'gain' his mustache back? He is, after all, going through another difficult emotional period now that he's trying to build a new life with Christopher in Texas. 'God, I wish,' Guzman replied. 'I miss it.' He told me that he had been pitching a mustache for Eddie since he joined 9-1-1 back in Season 2. 'I was lucky enough to get six episodes out of it,' he said. 'If the fans want it back, and Tim listens to them, maybe I can hold on to it for a little longer.' As far as I'm concerned, there's only one way forward from here: the mustache needs to come back.
