Illusions of Power Not to Achieve Security for Israel or Region, Says Egypt's FM

Taarek Refaat Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration stressed the importance of the international community's rejection of double standards and military solutions in dealing with crises. During a joint press conference with his German counterpart on Friday evening, he emphasized the importance of a unified standard based on adherence to the principles stipulated in international law and international humanitarian law. He denied the possibility of achieving security and stability through the use of force, adding, "The illusion of force will not achieve security for Israel or any party in the region." He reiterated that a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is only possible through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital. Egypt's FM Meets Syrian Counterpart on Sidelines of Oslo Forum

Taarek Refaat Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration met with Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum. Tamim Khallaf, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Abdel Aty listened to an explanation from the Syrian Minister regarding the political, security, and economic developments within Syria, as well as the internal and external challenges facing the country recently. On his part, Minister Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt's support for the Syrian people, its support for security and stability in Syria, and the preservation of the unity of its national institutions and capabilities, as well as the unity Abdel Ati stressed the importance of achieving sustainable stability in Syria by working to involve all Syrian national forces in the political process, reflecting the societal, religious, sectarian, and ethnic diversity within Syria. He also emphasized the importance of combating terrorism and addressing the phenomenon of foreign fighters to preserve sustainable stability in Syria.
