Egypt's FM Meets Syrian Counterpart on Sidelines of Oslo Forum

Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration met with Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum.
Tamim Khallaf, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Abdel Aty listened to an explanation from the Syrian Minister regarding the political, security, and economic developments within Syria, as well as the internal and external challenges facing the country recently.
On his part, Minister Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt's support for the Syrian people, its support for security and stability in Syria, and the preservation of the unity of its national institutions and capabilities, as well as the unity
Abdel Ati stressed the importance of achieving sustainable stability in Syria by working to involve all Syrian national forces in the political process, reflecting the societal, religious, sectarian, and ethnic diversity within Syria.
He also emphasized the importance of combating terrorism and addressing the phenomenon of foreign fighters to preserve sustainable stability in Syria. Minister Abdel-Ati also reiterated the danger of foreign intervention and condemned Israel's repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty and continued occupation of Syrian territory.

H-Tayea President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call on Thursday with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to congratulate him on his electoral victory. He emphasized the critical importance of the current moment in light of rapidly evolving regional and international dynamics and highlighted the urgent need to uphold the principles of international law and long-standing global norms—an area in which Germany has extensive experience. According to Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, President El-Sisi underlined Egypt's desire to strengthen its close partnership with Germany, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, as well as in development cooperation that benefits both nations. Chancellor Merz thanked President El-Sisi for the congratulatory gesture and affirmed Germany's commitment to its strong ties with Egypt. Both leaders agreed on the need to deepen bilateral relations across all fields and to continue coordination on regional stability and development. The call also addressed ongoing regional and international issues. President El-Sisi outlined Egypt's efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the need for the international community to push for an immediate end to military operations in the Strip. He reiterated Egypt's total rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians and emphasized the importance of expanding international recognition of the State of Palestine in line with the two-state solution. The leaders also discussed developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, and Somalia. Egypt Offers Condolences to India Over Plane Crash Victims

Amir Hagag Egypt expressed its sincere condolences to India over the victims of the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad Airport in western India on Thursday morning, which resulted in a large number of casualties. Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with the Republic of India, both government and people, in confronting the effects of the horrific accident, and its condolences to the families of the victims, both Indian and of all other nationalities. A passenger plane carrying 242 people crashed in western India. Authorities announced that at least 30 people were killed in the crash, which was supposed to be heading to London, minutes after takeoff.
