‘Sadly it's not Carlo?' – Rangers legend Ally McCoist calls out Davide Ancelotti dig as he says it's a bit harsh
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ALLY McCOIST took issue with his TalkSPORT producers this morning when asked to introduce an item on Rangers' pursuit of Davide Ancelotti with the words "sadly it's not Carlo". Despite some serious experience with the likes of Bayern, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid, the Italian who has emerged as front runner hasn't presided over a single competitive match. But as he read out the script comparing the two, McCoist was rather taken aback - insisting the line "was a bit harsh". He read: 'A one way ticket to Scotland, Barry Ferguson's replacement looks like it's a box office name but hold on, wait, it's sadly ... sadly it's not Carlo? "That's a bit harsh? I just said sadly, it might be Carlo although I doubt it very much. It looks like it is his son, Davide.' Davide, of course, has been termed Carlo's "secret weapon" - and the man who does much of the talking and thinking in the relationship. McCoist returned to the subject later on, to admit he didn't know too much about the Italian, but insisted he didn't "neccesarily think the club moving in a different direction is a bad thing". He said: "That's an interesting one. I can't lie to you. "I don't know a lot about Davide Ancelotti. It's a different direction and I don't necessarily think it is a bad thing. "If the new takeover comes in, I would imagine there would be some money. "They just need to regroup, stabilise themselves." Carlo Ancelotti shows his disappointment as Real Madrid crashes out of Champions League to Arsenal Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Could a gorilla beat 100 men in a fight? This question's electrifying the world - now a top expert gives fascinating definitive answer... and it's not what you expect
World heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk didn't hesitate. Asked whether he would win a boxing match with a silverback mountain gorilla, he just said: 'Yeah, yeah.' During an interview on TalkSPORT yesterday, the 38-year-old Ukrainian fighter went further still: his ten-year-old son Mykhailo could do it with his judo skills. At a pinch, 12-year-old big brother Kyrylo might step in to help.

Noel Gallagher Calls Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance ‘Absolute Nonsense'
Noel Gallagher was unimpressed by Kendrick Lamar's record-breaking Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Sunday night (Feb. 9). 'I had to switch it off. It was absolute nonsense,' the Oasis frontman said during an appearance on TalkSPORT on Tuesday (Feb. 11), specifying, 'I didn't watch it all, I just switched it off. There was like 300 people getting out of a car in the first two minutes.' 'I don't like the halftime nonsense, it's usually artists I don't like,' adding, 'I never watch it, I'm not interested it.' Overall, the rocker doesn't love the idea of blending music with sports. 'Americans are taking over our sport, they're taking over the Premier League, they'll take over the Champions League, trust me, 20 years from now it will all be nonsense,' he said. Lamar's performance at the Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans is the most-watched halftime show performance of all time, with 133.5 million viewers, earning more views than the Super Bowl itself, which reported an average of 126 million viewers watching the Philadelphia Eagles claim victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 40 to 22. The star also made history as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and his performance featured several surprise guests including SZA, Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams.
