Jake Paul insists he will fight Anthony Joshua as Tyson Fury makes prediction

Jake Paul insists he will fight Anthony Joshua and hopes to do so at Wembley, where he says he will beat the former heavyweight champion.
The social media star has built a professional boxing record of 12-1, with his only defeat coming by split decision to Tommy Fury in 2023.
His victories have come against a mix of MMA fighters, boxers long past their best and journeyman professionals.
However, he wants to step up to the elite level and take on Joshua (28-4) at heavyweight and is adamant that he will get his wish.
'It's gunna happen,' Paul told talkSPORT. 'I want it to happen here [Wembley], all the odds stacked against me.
'I believe that I will beat him, shock the world and create one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.'
He also told DAZN: 'We're going to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.
'It's not even about it being realistic or not, it's going to happen. Fasten your seatbelts or whatever and when I knock him out I go down in the history books forever.'
Paul was in attendance for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois bout at Wembley for the unified heavyweight title on Saturday night.
Tyson Fury is coming off back-to-back defeats to Usyk and he has weighed in on a possible Paul vs Joshua bout, claiming to be extremely confident in the man who would be a huge underdog.
'I think Jake Paul knocks the motherf***er out! Why not?' Fury said.
'Seriously, I think Jake Paul chins AJ if they fight. 100 per cent. If they fight, I'm putting £1m on Jake Paul.'
Reacting to Fury's faith in him, Paul said: 'I saw that! He's backing me. He's a smart lad.'
Joshua has not fought since being stopped by Dubois in September last year, but has been linked with facing Fury next year.
The most powerful man in boxing, Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, is also on board with a Paul vs Joshua contest.
Asked by TalkSPORT of the possibility of the bout, he said: 'We are talking now about the future, let's see. Why not? It's a win-win deal.'
Speaking about his own future, Fury (34-2-1) confirmed the least surprising news imaginable, that he intends to return from his latest retirement, set to box again next year.
Speaking at a Goldstar Promotions event, the Gypsy King said: 'I do miss it, every single day I wake up in the morning and miss it. I've been away seven months, missed it everyday. I'm open to offers at the moment. More Trending
'I'm not going to be doing any comebacks this year, that's for sure. I'm busy as you can see I've got Netflix here.
'I'm filming At Home With The Furys season two and then next year the big GK is going to make a f***ing comeback.
'The takeover! I'm gonna be 37 in about three weeks so I'm going to be the oldest swinger with all these young boys coming up it's going to be difficult. But I believe I can put on some very good nights still.'

Paul Gascoigne back home and doing well, says agent

Paul Gascoigne has been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home after a health scare, his management company has said. A spokesperson for The MNT agency said the former England footballer, 58, has been struggling with a throat condition and had gone into hospital near his home in Dorset on Friday. But she told The Times today that Gascoigne, affectionately known as Gazza, 'is already back home and doing well'. Gascoigne had been found collapsed in the bedroom of his home in Poole, Dorset by Steve Foster, his friend and personal assistant, who drove him to hospital. Bianca Gascoigne, his daughter and a reality TV star, as well as some of Gascoigne's former footballer friends, including Chris Waddle, Paul Merson and Vinnie Jones, were said to have been informed of his condition. Gascoigne is considered one of the most gifted players ever to have represented the England men's football team. He earned 57 caps and played for clubs including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Rangers and the Italian club Lazio. He was the star of England's journey to the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup in Italy. The tears in Turin that followed a yellow card he knew would prevent him from playing in the final — as it was, Bobby Robson's side lost the semi-final to Germany on penalties — cemented his popularity with the British public. A few months later, he was crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. However, Gascoigne, who retired in 2004, has suffered with mental health issues throughout his adult life, and has spoken openly about his battles with alcohol and drug abuse. In May, Gascoigne told The Mirror he felt better than he had 'in years' and hoped he could look back on his life with a positive perspective. Last year he had revealed on the High Performance podcast that he was struggling with alcohol addiction and had attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Paul Gascoigne ‘doing well' at home after hospital treatment

Paul Gascoigne is now 'doing well' at home after receiving hospital treatment for a throat condition, his management company told Telegraph Sport. Long-term associates of the former England midfielder moved to ease concern around his welfare after it was reported he was found collapsed at home. Gascoigne 'voluntarily went into A&E on Friday after struggling with a throat condition', his Dorset-based management company said. He was not taken in by ambulance and his treatment related to a condition 'he has had for a while'. 'He is already back home and doing well,' figures added. It had previously been reported he was receiving treatment at an acute medical unit at Poole Hospital. Steve Foster, a friend of Gascoigne's, had told The Sun newspaper: 'He would like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best.' Gascoigne is regarded as one of England's greatest playmakers after representing his country with distinction between 1988 and 1998. He starred in England teams that went close to winning the World Cup in 1990 and the 1996 European Championship – famously scoring a wonder goal against Scotland at Euro '96 – but ultimately won only 57 caps and scored 10 goals for his country following the serious knee injury he recklessly sustained during the 1991 FA Cup final. In recent interviews, Gascoigne has described himself as 'a sad drunk' while vowing to 'keep on fighting' and attend Alcoholics Anonymous. He told the High Performance Podcast last year how he had been staying in his agent's spare bedroom in Dorset. Gascoigne came through the ranks at Newcastle United in the 1980s before moving to Tottenham Hotspur, where he would win an FA Cup winner's medal in 1991. However, after the long lay-off following that knee injury in that final, his personal life became increasingly tumultuous. He spent four years in Italy with Lazio before joining Rangers, but alcohol issues took hold during the latter stages of his career at Middlesbrough, Everton and Burnley. He was left out of England's 1998 World Cup squad, which proved a crushing blow for both his professional and personal life.

Jake Paul responds to brutal claims Anthony Joshua will KILL him

Paul has been trading barbs with Joshua for months and the pair have now been tipped to go head-to-head next year at Wembley Jake Paul has promised to silence his critics in a potential heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua. ‌ In recent months, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has repeatedly demanded a clash with the former two-time heavyweight world champion. After defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr last month, the 28-year-old seized another chance to challenge the British fighter. ‌ The internet star even made the journey to the UK for Oleksandr Usyk 's clash with Daniel Dubois, hoping to encounter 'AJ.' However, the Watford native was surprisingly absent from the venue, reports All Out Fighting. Speaking to DAZN before Usyk's Saturday night encounter with Daniel Dubois, Paul - who was positioned ringside for the contest - declared he would face Joshua next year. "Yeah 100 per cent it's going to happen. We're going to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing," he said. "It's not even about it being realistic or not, it's going to happen so fasten your seatbelts. And when I knock him out I'll go down in the history books forever." ‌ Paul subsequently double down on his statements during a chat with Seconds Out, stating: "Yeah, it is going to happen. Like seriously, it is going to happen. We were talking with Turki Alalshikh tonight, negotiations, live in person which are always fun. But, it is going to happen, and it is just such an exciting fight that crosses the whole globe. When you ask a lot of people about certain boxers, they do not know their names," he said. "And everywhere I go, I have just talked about Anthony Joshua and I am global. So, it is just such a good fight for the sport of boxing." Since challenging Joshua, several fans have boldly predicted that the British champion would savagely demolish the young American. Nevertheless, Paul has hit back at his critics and remains convinced he would emerge victorious should discussions of a potential bout materialise. "People think I will die, but I will show them why I can rise against all odds and beat him," he said. The 'Problem Child' was also keen to deliver a warning to his opponent. "Man, I am going to embarrass you in front of the whole world and steal your legacy and embarrass you." Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn acknowledges a clash between Paul and Joshua could materialise in 2026 following the social media personality's acceptance of an astonishing one per cent fight purse for the prospective encounter. "Don't ask me how. Don't ask me why," Hearn said. "But if people want Anthony Joshua to evaporate the career of Jake Paul in one night, maybe we make it happen." He added: "You know, obviously it'll be up to AJ and myself what AJ does, and [Most Valuable Promotions CEO] Nakisa [Bidarian] and Jake, what they do – but also the power of Turki Alalshikh bringing it together, making it a mega-event. We're up for it. You know, it's not a fight we targeted. It's not a fight we anticipated. But as I said, if it's there and it's open and it's a running-up fight before Tyson Fury, why not? It probably breaks the internet. It breaks the platform. It probably delivers the biggest numbers of any fight we've ever seen, and that's the crazy world we live in. For me, I don't expect it to be competitive, but do you want to see Jake Paul flattened? There you go. It's on a plate right in front of you." When is Jake Paul's next fight? Following his victory over Chavez Jr last month, Paul is set to compete once more before the year concludes. The American is now eligible to challenge for a world championship after being included in the WBC's cruiserweight rankings following his triumph over the former middleweight titleholder. The 28-year-old's manager disclosed that his business associate is eager to compete for a world crown 'as soon as possible'. Nevertheless, he acknowledges it's unlikely to be his next bout, given the current situation at 200lbs. "Absolutely [he will fight again this year]. November or December," Bidarian told Ariel Helwani when asked about Paul's next steps. "I'm seeing him tonight for dinner, and we will have a conversation [about his next opponent]. The only possibility right now is that Jake wants to fight for a belt as soon as possible. I have to talk to him, I think it's tough this year [to box for a world title]. Badou Jack is who he wants to fight more than anyone, and he has a mandatory rematch with the guy he just beat [Noel Mikaelian] for the WBC. I don't know if this year is possible [for the title fight], but we'll see."
