Girl, 7, dies after motorcycle ridden by 11-year-old sister collides with van in Tanah Merah
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — A seven-year-old girl died after the motorcycle ridden by her 11-year-old sister collided with a van on the Tanah Merah–Pasir Mas road near Kampung Bukit Merah in Tanah Merah, Kelantan yesterday. In the 6.30pm incident, the victim, Nur Irdina Aulia Zainudin, who was riding pillion, succumbed to her injuries at 8.30pm while receiving treatment at Tanah Merah Hospital. Tanah Merah district police chief Superintendent Mohd Haki Hasbullah said preliminary investigations showed the motorcycle had exited a junction near a tyre shop and entered the main road. 'It then collided with a van travelling from Tanah Merah towards Pasir Mas,' he said. Nur Irdina Aulia sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital but died two hours later. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

One killed, seven injured in three-vehicle crash in Tanah Merah
KOTA BHARU: A man was killed while seven others, including three children, were injured in a three-vehicle accident at Kampung Rawa Bechah Laut, Tanah Merah early this morning. Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Operations Commander, Senior Fire Officer 1 Roslan Ismail said they received an emergency call regarding a crash involving a Perodua Myvi, Perodua Axia and Toyota Alphard at 12.28 am. 'The Perodua Axia driver was pinned in the car and died at the scene, while those injured comprised one passenger in the Myvi and six passengers in the Toyota Alphard,' he said in a statement today. He added that the rescue operation ended at 1.55 am, with all the victims sent to the Tanah Merah Hospital.

Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Roslan Ismail said they received an emergency call regarding the accident at 12:28am. "Upon arriving at the scene at 12:38am, we found a collision involving three vehicles — a Perodua Myvi, a Perodua Alza, and a Toyota Alphard. "The male driver of the Perodua Myvi was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene, while 11 others, including three children from the Perodua Alza and Toyota Alphard, sustained injuries. "The operation concluded fully at 1:55am, and all victims were transported to Tanah Merah Hospital," he said.

One dead, 13 injured in three-vehicle crash in Machang
MACHANG: A man was killed and 13 others were injured in an accident involving three vehicles at Kilometre 9.4, Jalan Machang-Pasir Puteh (Banggol Judah), here last night. Machang district police chief, Superintendent Ahmad Shafiki Hussin, said the incident, which occurred at around 11.45 pm, involved a Chevrolet four-wheel drive, a Proton Waja and a Perodua Kancil. 'Initial investigations found that the Chevrolet pickup truck carrying five individuals from Machang to Pasir Puteh lost control and skidded into the opposite lane before colliding head-on with a Proton Waja carrying six individuals from the opposite direction,' he said in a statement today. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Proton Waja died at the scene of the incident after being trapped in the vehicle. 'The Perodua Kancil that was behind the Proton Waja with three individuals including a child was also involved when it crashed into the involved vehicle,' he said. Ahmad Shafiki said the victim's body had been sent to Machang Hospital for a post-mortem, while 13 other injured victims were taken to Machang Hospital and Tanah Merah Hospital for further treatment. According to him, the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. In this regard, the public who have information related to the incident are asked to assist in the investigation by contacting Traffic Investigating Officer, Insp.
