Gumla grade IV staff's daughter is school topper in arts stream

Anjali Kumari
of DAV School, Gumla, topped her school in the Class XII (arts stream) by securing 98.6%, breaking the previous record of 98.2% set by her senior, Tanu Kumari, in 2024. She scored 99 each in political science, geography, painting, and physical education, 97 in history, and 92 in English.
Speaking about her preparations, she said, "I practised solving questions in each subject."Daughter of a grade IV employee with the Gumla civil court, Sanjay Kumar Lal, and homemaker Santoshi Devi of Koyenjara village, Anjali said, "I dream of becoming a judge and have started preparing for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2025 so as to get enrolled in the National Law University (NLU), Hyderabad."Her father added, "I had to cut expense of other necessities in order to educate my daughter to meet the school and bus fees and her other needs. She never attended any tuition. Seeing me working with the court and learning something about judicial matters, she gained interest in following a similar academic track."DAV Gumla principal Ramkant Sahu said, "We are happy with the performance of our students."
