Chilling moment knife thug brothers chase victim into alley before stabbing him to death in car crash feud - as they are jailed for murder
A knife-wielding thug chased a young man into an alleyway before stabbing him to death following a dispute over a crash. Thapelo Jali, 21, was knifed multiple times by brothers Tayyab Hussain, 27, and Ezaan Hussain, 22, in a brutal ambush in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, on July 22 last year. Shocking CCTV captured Thapelo being pursued into an alleyway at 11.47pm, just moments before the pair caught up with him. The 21-year-old was found critically injured in an alleyway in the early hours but despite the efforts of medics, Thapelo was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1am. The fatal stabbing came just two days after he was involved in a car crash with the brothers' sibling, Tuheed Hussain, driving a Honda Civic. He was driving his girlfriend's Volkswagen T-Roc on July 20 when he was involved in a crash with Tuheed. The duo then smashed the windows of Thapelo's car on July 21 and later that day the victim travelled to Stoke. The trio have now been jailed at Loughborough Crown Court. CCTV footage showed Thapelo running into an alleyway between Hamilton Road and Buccleuch Road at about 11:47pm. Four seconds later, Tayaab and Ezaan got out of a car driven by Tuheed before the pair went into the alleyway where they repeatedly stabbed Thapelo. They then left the alley and were picked up by Tuheed before they drove away from the scene. Thapelo was found in the alleyway just after 12.30am on July 22. He had been stabbed multiple times and died at around 1.10am at the scene. The three brothers, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were jailed for the killing at Loughborough Crown Court yesterday. Tayyab and Ezaan both pleaded guilty to the murder while Tuheed was was found guilty of manslaughter on Monday. Tayyab was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 21 years while Ezan was setennced for a minimum of 20 years and Tuheed to 11 years' imprisonment. Detective Superintendent Cheryl Hannan, of Staffordshire Police, said: 'Our thoughts remain with Thapelo's family and friends. 'This was a brutal and calculated attack. 'This highlights the tragic consequences of carrying a knife and conflict between groups.' In a statement, Thapelo's family said: 'We love and miss Thapelo and his death has left an unmeasurable void in the lives of us who love him so dearly. 'When the officers came to tell us about Thapelo's death, their words changed our lives forever. 'That morning, little did we know that our lives were now changed, beyond anything that we could ever imagine. 'The stark reality of Thapelo's death was something that quickly absorbed our family, devastating us completely, as the days, weeks and months have passed. 'One young life was taken in the most tragic and cruel set of circumstances, yet many lives have been ruined through the ripples of devastation caused by these dreadful events. 'I hope that in some small way, my words help to discourage the epidemic of knife crime that has taken my son from his family at such a young age. 'I want for no other family to have to experience the level of pain that we have, and continue, to endure.'
