Technosport opens ninth South India store in Pondicherry

Activewear brand Technosport has opened its latest exclusive brand outlet in Pondicherry, marking its ninth store in South India. Located near Rock Beach, the 2,041 square foot store brings the brand's performance-led and sustainability-focused collections to local fitness and fashion-focused shoppers. "Our expansion into Pondicherry is a testament to our commitment to making high-performance, eco-friendly activewear accessible across South India," said Technosport's CEO Puspen Maity in a press release. "Pondicherry has always stood out as a destination that celebrates both heritage and innovation, making it an ideal choice for TechnoSport's latest store. We believe our Cotflex collection, which fuses the natural feel of cotton with cutting-edge performance technology, will resonate strongly with the active and eco-conscious community here." To celebrate the launch, Technosport hosted the 'High5 Techno' 5K marathon, with the route beginning at the Chief Secretariat and ending at the new store. The community event drew runners and fitness enthusiasts from across the city, with cash prizes awarded to the top three finishers and mementos for those placing fourth to tenth. The first 200 finishers received complimentary Technosport t-shirts, and the overall winner inaugurated the store by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The Pondicherry store showcases the brand's Cotflex Collection, designed for men, women, and children. Cotflex offers the breathability of cotton with advanced features including wrinkle resistance, four-way stretch, anti-microbial and anti-static properties, and UPF 50+ sun protection. The store is now open to the public, offering the full Cotflex line alongside Technosport's other products.

Technosport eyes store count of 50, eyes Africa market entry

Indian activewear brand Technosport is set to expand its exclusive retail presence from 10 to 50 stores by the end of the year, while also planning its entry into African markets in the future to pursue growth and reach global audiences. Along with expanding its retail presence, the business also plans to widen its product offering to create a comprehensive wardrobe solution. "We are planning to launch more products like shirts, trousers, rain jackets, caps, and socks based on the same textile technology used in our activewear," the brand's founder Sunil Jhunjhunwala told Indian Retailer Bureau. The brand focuses on performance-driven features like moisture management and UV protection. It recently launched wrinkle-free and UV-protection garments, a technology Jhunjhunwala says has yet to arrive in India through global brands. Technosport currently operates through over 8,000 retailers nationwide, with offline retail contributing around 85% of the business. The business also retails via Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto, and its own website, and exports to the Middle East. Eyeing African markets for growth, Technosport plans an entry in the coming years. Founded in 2015 by Sunil Jhunjhunwala, the brand was launched to offer high-performance activewear at accessible price points, bridging the gap between premium international labels and local players, according to Technosport's website. 'Our vision is to become the most loved brand across the country and become the pioneer in taking our innovative textile-based products to the globe,' said Jhunjhunwala.

Technosport Debuts Duracool+ with Karl Mayer & A.T.E.

Technosport, a leading Indian activewear brand, unveiled its Duracool+ fabric innovation during a successful Open House event at its new megafactory in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, held in collaboration with KARL MAYER and A.T.E. Enterprises. This marks a major milestone as Technosport becomes the first company in South India to deploy KARL MAYER's HKS-3M Tricot warp knitting machines for the production of high-performance activewear. Over 100 industry professionals from Tirupur, Erode, Coimbatore, and surrounding textile hubs participated in the event, witnessing live demonstrations of three HKS-3M machines and a DS-Warper in action, producing warp-knitted fabrics tailored for active and sportswear segments. The machines ran at speeds up to 2800 RPM, reflecting high production efficiency. The event opened with remarks by Mr. Navin Agrawal of A.T.E., followed by a presentation from Mr. Mark Smith on warp knitting innovations. Ms. Franseska Guth and A.T.E.'s sales team showcased a range of fabric samples and finished garments made with warp-knit technology. Mr. Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-founder of Technosport, emphasized the brand's focus on leveraging innovation to meet growing domestic and export demand for synthetic performance wear. 'By partnering with KARL MAYER and A.T.E., we're bringing globally competitive textile technology to India. With the rising demand for synthetics, this move sets the stage for warp knitting to grow rapidly,' he said. This collaboration has enabled Technosport to introduce Duracool+, a proprietary warp-knitted fabric engineered using the HKS-3M machines. The brand is also preparing to launch all-day pants—combining woven-like durability with knitwear comfort—to further diversify its apparel offerings. Mr. Mark Smith, Deputy Vice President of KARL MAYER, expressed gratitude to Technosport and A.T.E. for their collaboration: 'We sincerely thank Mr. Sunil Jhunjhunwala and the Technosport team for their partnership, and the A.T.E. Coimbatore team for executing such a successful event. We look forward to hosting more events to strengthen warp knitting in India.' With this investment in advanced textile machinery and a commitment to sustainability and functionality, Technosport is poised to set new standards in Indian and global activewear, making high-performance apparel more accessible to a growing base of health-conscious consumers.
