₹7,770.83 crore disbursed under Rythu Bharosa, benefiting over 66 lakh farmers
The State government disbursed ₹7,770.83 crore as of Saturday under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the Vanakalam crop, covering 126.28 lakh acres and benefiting 66,18,931 farmers who hold land up to 9 acres. During the launch of the Rythu Nestham programme held at Prof. Jayashankar Telangana Agriculture University in Hyderabad on Monday, June 16, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that ₹9,000 crore would be credited as the Vanakalam instalment of Rythu Bharosa, the farmers' investment support scheme, within nine days. As promised, the State government is disbursing the amount every day since Monday. On the sixth day, 67,352 farmers holding up to 8 acres (total of 4,43,193.20 acres) were credited with the amount, while 39,164 farmers holding up to 9 acres (total of 3,23,875 acres) were provided with financial assistance, much to the joy of the farmers.

Rythu Bharosa, totalling ₹9,000 crore to reach all farmers in nine days, asserts Chief Minister
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared the government's resolve to credit ₹9,000 crore as the first instalment of Rythu Bharosa, farmers investment support scheme, within nine days. The Chief Minister formally started crediting the amounts to farmers by the click of a button on Monday at the Rythu Nestam programme held at the Prof Jayashankar Telangana Agriculture University. The Chief Minister launched video conference facility in 1,034 Rythu Vedikas (farmers platforms) taking the total vedikas with video conference facility, to help farmers interact with officials and experts on crop related issues, to 1,600. Mr. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the earlier Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, charging it with having pushed the State into a debt trap, claiming that 'a century will not be sufficient to recover from the destruction unleashed by the previous government'. 'They handed over the State with financial crisis,' he said. The previous regime hoodwinked people with false claims and pushed the State to such a position where it was not in a position to implement schemes like fee reimbursement to students and farm loan waiver. 'The BRS warned people against opting for paddy cultivation, whereas the Congress government has kept its promise of procuring the entire produce from the farmers,' he said. This was in addition to the encouragement given to farmers to take up cultivation of fine rice through ₹500 bonus per quintal. Fine rice constituted 60% of the farmers' produce in the State, and the government was able to supply fine rice to the poor. 'Telangana is the top rice producer in the State because of the proactive policies of the people's government,' he said. The Chief Minister recalled how the previous government resorted to borrowing ₹8.2 lakh crore and said the government was correcting the lapses of its predecessor. 'The government is committed to credit the entire ₹9,000 crore into farmers' accounts within nine days despite the financial problems it is facing. The Government's commitment can be seen from the fact that it had spent over ₹1 lakh crore in the last 18 months, and at the same time, Telangana became the only State to fill 60,000 vacant posts within one year of taking charge.' The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to take steps to create awareness among the district collectors on the utility of solar pump sets as also on the cultivation of commercial crops so that they could in turn educate farmers about the same. Focus should also be on creating awareness among farmers about change in cropping pattern. Mr. Revanth Reddy asserted that the Congress government would continue to be in power for 10 years despite the attempts of the BRS to mislead the people through dramas. 'They (BRS leaders) are shamelessly casting aspersions on the Congress government after causing irreparable damage to the State,' he said. He said he was prepared to hold a debate on the people-centric steps by the Congress government and the anti-people BRS government in any village or gram sabhas.
