8.5L applications received during Revenue Sadassulu: Telangana Minister Ponguleti
HYDERABAD: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday revealed that around 8.5 lakh applications related to land-related issues were received during the recent Revenue Sadassulu conducted by the state government. 'The recently held Revenue conferences revealed how landowners were troubled by the previous Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Pass Books Act, 2020,' he said. Srinivasa Reddy held a review meeting at the Secretariat on the just-concluded Revenue Sadassulu (conferences). During the meeting, he instructed the Revenue authorities and officials of various districts to respond promptly to the applications received from the people. After the meeting, he issued a press statement, stating that the state government was revamping the land administration system, which according to him had been completely destroyed during the BRS regime. He also said that the government was strictly implementing the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2024, while claiming that the change is already being felt in the state. 'The new RoR Act brought transparency to land governance, which was lacking in the Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Pass Books Act, 2020. The new Act is paving the way for addressing the long-pending land issues,' he added. He said that around 60% of the approximately 46,000 applications received in the second phase have already been addressed. He said that over eight lakh applications were received from 10,239 villages during the third phase of Revenue conferences. The government has already computerised around 3.27 lakh applications, he added.

Ponguleti for humanitarian approach towards farmers' problems
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed officials to resolve the grievances submitted by farmers during Revenue Sadassus in a time-bound manner. The Revenue Department has been conducting meetings with stakeholders in all mandals except Hyderabad since June 3, with 7,578 villages in 561 mandals covered till date. The department has so far received 4.61 lakh applications in the meetings that will continue till June 20. The Minister wanted the officials to thoroughly examine the grievances and resolve the problems with a humanitarian approach. Mr. Srinivas Reddy reviewed the progress of meetings with senior officials on Sunday, and directed them to ensure government's intention of resolving land issues, pending for decades, came true. The 10-year rule of BRS Government put farmers to severe hardships, and the introduction of the Dharani portal has been a bane for them, he said. The Minister said that he was personally present in the meetings conducted in 50 villages and was moved by the plight of farmers during the BRS tenure. Prompted by their hardships, the present government had enacted the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, and it was the responsibility of the officials concerned to ensure effective implementation of the legislation at the field level. Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that land survey in five model villages for which records did not exist since Independence was progressing briskly. The survey was launched in five of the 413 villages, for which land records did not exist, on a pilot basis. Accordingly, mapping of 337 acres of 422 acres in Salarnagar of Gandeed mandal of Mahbubnagar district, 269 acres out of 626 acres in Kommanapally village of Bhirpur mandal of Jagtial district, 445 acres (845 acres) of Mulugumada of Errupalem mandal of Khammam district, 232 acres (502 acres) of Nuguru in Venkatapuram mandal of Mulugu district, and 308 acres (593 acres) in Shahidnagar of Vatpalli mandal of Sangareddy district had been completed so far. In all, mapping and survey of 1,591 acres of the 2,988 acres in the five pilot villages had been completed and officials were directed to complete the survey within 10 days.

Bhu Bharati operational in 28 mandals from today
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is implementing the full-fledged Bhu Bharati Act across the state from May 5, taking one mandal each in the 28 districts, excluding Hyderabad. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy instructed all the District Collectors to attend the revenue meetings at mandal level and resolve the doubts raised by the farmers and the locals, in a language that they can easily understand. The government has so far implemented the Bhu Bharati Act in four mandals in the state on a pilot basis. In a statement, the minister informed that as part of the project, the revenue meetings will be held in 28 mandals of 28 districts of the state starting from May 5 till 20. Similar meetings were held in four mandals of four districts from April 17 to 30. The main purpose of these revenue meetings is to create widespread awareness among the people about the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights In Land) Act, 2024 and to receive applications from the people on land issues and resolve them. The minister urged the Collectors to effectively implement the Bhu Bharati Act, which was brought in after thorough consultations and study to permanently solve the land problems of farmers in the state. Recalling inconsistencies in the earlier Dharani portal, the minister said owing to the mistakes made by the previous government, hundreds of families in every village in the state faced land-related problems. He alleged that the Dharani has disrupted people's lives, as many families have been torn apart. Contrary to the expectations of the people, land rights have been usurped in the state in the last ten years. In the previous government, there was no other way to resolve issues but to approach courts. In the present government, the authorities will go to the farmers and resolve their problems, he asserted.

Bhu Bharati to be operational in 28 mandals of 28 districts from today
The State government has decided to extend the operation of the prestigious Bhu Bharati Act and portal to 28 more mandals in 28 districts across the State starting Monday. The Revenue department has accordingly decided to conduct revenue sadassus, meetings to receive applications from landowners facing problems due to the Dharani portal, in these mandals till May 20. The development follows the implementation of the new Act and portal on a pilot basis in four mandals of four districts from April 17 to 30. According to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the sadassus were aimed to create awareness among the people on the Bhu Bharati Act and take steps to resolve the grievances of landowners as part of the meetings. District collectors have been directed to participate in these meetings to clear doubts of the people in layman terms and ensure that grievances are resolved effectively. The hasty steps by the BRS government landed scores of landowners in trouble giving them sleepless nights. The Dharani portal launched by the BRS government with ulterior motives pushed hundreds of families into problems raising questions on the ownership of lands they were in possession since generations. The powers that be in the previous government supported the 'land business' conducted in the name of Dharani, resulting in people losing rights over their lands. At the same time, the absence of a window to represent their grievances had compounded the problems of farmers. The Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy enacted the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act 2025 to alleviate the problems faced by landowners, especially farmers. The government was firm on effective implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act and it had sought the cooperation of the people, elected representatives and officials concerned in this direction. This has been contemplated to reduce litigations which were aplenty in the decade long rule of the BRS government as people were left with no option but to take legal recourse.

Bhu Bharati, a one-stop redressal system: Ponguleti
Warangal: Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2025, is a single window system that provides a permanent solution to the issues faced by the farmers, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said. Speaking at an awareness programme here on Tuesday aimed at sensitising the farmers about the importance of Bhu Bharati, a digital land records management system that replaces the BRS Government's flawed Dharani, he said that all the hiccups have been removed, and it's a fool-proof legislation - fast and genuine. After the PowerPoint presentation of the Act, Reddy said that the government had gone through the revenue laws implemented by the 18 States in the country, and had consulted the experts before drafting a role-model-like land record system. The discorded Dharani was full of loopholes and forced the hapless farmers to knock on the doors of the judiciary even for a petty issue, Ponguleti said. 'As of now, Bhu Bharati implementation will be taken on a pilot basis in four mandals in the State. The revenue officials would meet the farmers and resolve the problems faced by them. The new system is free of cost, and the farmers need not have to worry about the expenses. The sada bainama issues will also be addressed, he added. The awareness programmes will be organised in all mandals by Wednesday (April 30). A seminar on Bhu Bharati will be organised in all mandal headquarters on June 2, the Telangana Formation Day, he added. Minister for Forests, Environment, and Endowment Konda Surekha, Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani, and Wardhannapet MLA K R Nagaraju heaped praise on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for rolling out a better grievance redressal system to protect the interests of the farmers. Warangal district collector Satya Sharada, municipal commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade, additional collector G Sandhya Rani, farmers, and local leaders were among others present. In a gesture, Ponguleti offered financial assistance to a girl student, Liti, who qualified for admission to Class V in a prestigious educational institution but had no means of monetary support. Ponguleti, who listened to the girl's grandma's plea, immediately responded positively.
