KCR skips state foundation day event, Kavitha holds separately

Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha stayed away from the 12th Telangana formation day celebrations on Monday at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters. Meanwhile, the member of legislative council held the celebrations separately at the Telangana Jagruthi office adjacent to her residence. The former chief minister's son and BRS working president KT Rama Rao took part in the celebrations along with non-resident Telanganites at Frisco, Texas in USA. At a meeting of NRIs at Frisco in Texas state, KTR said his party was committed to the development of Telangana irrespective of whether it was in power or in the opposition. He exuded confidence that the party would return to power in Telangana and KCR would return as the chief minister after three years. He recalled KCR's struggle for 13 long years to achieve statehood for Telangana region and also the sacrifices of thousands of people for the cause. 'The BRS always carried the spirit of the Telangana movement which was evident through all its development and welfare initiatives,' he said. At the Telangana Bhavan, senior BRS leader and party's opposition leader in the legislative council S Madhusudhana Chary unfurled the national flag and the BRS flag. Several senior leaders including KCR's nephew and former minister T Harish Rao, other MLAs, MLCs, and activists at the party headquarters took part in the celebrations. The party leaders paid floral tributes to Telangana Thalli statue, prof K Jayashankar, and people who died for the formation of Telangana. They raised Jai Telangana, Jai KCR slogans and cut a commemorative cake to mark the occasion. Similar celebrations were held in all the party offices across the district, mandal and constituency headquarters in Telangana. Kavitha acting on directions of BJP: TPCC

Hyderabad: TPCC campaign committee chairman Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Monday alleged that BRS MLC K Kavitha was acting on the directions of BJP top leadership in New Delhi to protect herself from the Delhi excise scam case. He also demanded an inquiry into the funds received by Telangana Jagruthi in the past 10 years. "Kavitha has started strengthening Telangana Jagruthi to protect corrupt money. She is an arrow released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah," he alleged. "Kavitha has been holding dharnas seeking justice for the BCs and downtrodden sections, but she should tell the people what she has done for them in the last 10 years," Yaskhi Goud demanded. TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy demanded that Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, along with PM Modi, should explain to the people of the country why India agreed to a ceasefire and to hold talks with Pakistan after Operation Sindoor was launched following the Pahalgam terrorist attack sponsored by Pakistan. "Will US President Donald Trump decide whether India should continue its fight against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism? The BJP leaders should apologise to Rahul Gandhi and answer the queries raised by him on this issue," Jagga Reddy demanded.

Kavitha seeks cancellation of GHMC tenders

HYDERABAD: BRS MLC K Kavitha on Sunday wrote to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy demanding the immediate cancellation of tenders issued for monsoon-related works in the GHMC limits, alleging they were skewed in favour of a select few. Kavitha, who is also the founder of Telangana Jagruthi, said the tender conditions for emergency works across 150 GHMC divisions were unfair to local contractors. She claimed that specifications mandated the use of vehicles from a specific foreign company, forcing local bidders to procure MoUs from Karnataka dealers after Hyderabad-based suppliers declined to provide them. She said previously used vehicles could carry 2-3 cubic metres of material, while those specified in the current tender cannot carry even one cubic metre. She also flagged a sharp rise in the tender value, from Rs 5.40 crore earlier to Rs 11.25 crore now. Kavitha demanded that GHMC issue zonal-wise tenders instead of division-wise ones to ensure fair participation. In a separate programme, Kavitha announced that the United Phule Front (UPF) will now function as an affiliate of Telangana Jagruthi.

BRS, Jagruthi are KCR's two eyes, says Kavitha

HYDERABAD: BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruthi founder K Kavitha condemned the Commission of Inquiry on Kaleshwaram's notice to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Inaugurating a new Jagruthi office near her residence in Banjara Hills on Saturday, she performed a special puja with her husband Anil Kumar and addressed the media, starting with the slogans: 'Jai Telangana, Jai KCR, Jai Jagruthi.' No BRS flags were seen during the inauguration of the office. 'BRS is KCR's one eye and Telangana Jagruthi is the other,' said Kavitha during the inauguration. She warned against attempts to malign him. Announcing a massive protest at Indira Park on June 4, she said engineers and irrigation experts will join to expose the Congress' 'conspiracy' against Telangana. She criticised the Ghose Commission as a 'Congress Commission' and questioned summoning KCR, who implemented schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima and KCR Kits. She argued that summoning him was akin to summoning the people of Telangana. Targeting CM A Revanth Reddy, the BRS MLC accused him of not honouring Telangana martyrs and demanded he participate in the June 2 State Formation Day celebrations. She questioned the naming of the 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam' scheme and asked why it wasn't named after Telangana figures like Srikanth Chari, Yadi Reddy, or PV Narasimha Rao. Kavitha also demanded action over Andhra's alleged 200 TMC water diversion and criticised Revanth's meeting with the PM without raising BC reservation issues. She called for 42% BC reservation before local body elections. Praising Telangana Jagruthi's role since 2006, Kavitha highlighted achievements like the official celebration of Sevalal Jayanthi and installation of Dr Ambedkar's statue. Meanwhile, Kavitha announced the expansion of Jagruthi across all communities — SC, ST, BC, minorities, Adivasis, Sikhs and Christians — to fight for their rights.
