KCR family in feud over Rs 2000 crore party empire, alleges Nizamuddin

Hyderabad, May 26 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Monday, claiming the party has devolved into a family-run business torn apart by greed and internal power struggles. Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, he alleged that a feud among K T Rama Rao, K Kavitha, T Harish Rao, and Santosh Rao is centred not on ideology but on control of assets worth over Rs 2,000 crore. Nizamuddin presented financial data and donor records, showing BRS's declared assets skyrocketed from Rs 5 crore in 2011–12 to Rs 1,191 crore in 2022–23. He argued the actual value, including benami assets, shell companies, and undisclosed income, could far exceed this figure. 'Such exponential growth in a political party's assets is only possible through systemic corruption,' he said. He further revealed that BRS earned Rs 738 crore in 2022–23, with Rs 154 crore coming from just 47 donors, most allegedly linked to government contracts and policy favours during the BRS regime. He claimed the party's matching expenditure hinted at possible money laundering. Nizamuddin also pointed to signs of internal collapse, including a leaked letter from Kavitha to her father KCR, expressing concerns over the party's direction and alleged BJP-friendly tilt. He termed recent private meetings and shifting political stances within the KCR family as signs of a corporate-style succession battle. Accusing the BRS of hijacking the Telangana movement for personal gain, he called for a court-monitored investigation into the party's financial dealings and assets. 'The people deserve to know how a public movement was turned into a private fortune,' he said, urging citizens to reject dynastic politics and support transparent governance. UNI VV BD

KTR's allegations against Revanth indicate his nervousness over Kavitha's letter: Congress

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said BRS working president K T Rama Rao was trying to wriggle out of the scare created by his sister and MLC K Kavitha by levelling false accusations against the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. In separate interactions with the media, they said Mr. KTR is trying to shift focus from the Kavitha episode to the Congress by targeting Mr. Revanth Reddy. The embarrassment was clear, and so was the desperation in Mr. KTR's reaction, trying to rake up a controversy that doesn't exist. ' First, answer what your family member said about your party and your leader,' they asked. Mr. Mahesh Goud, who is in New Delhi, called Mr. KTR's press conference a panicked reaction to a new power centre within BRS. 'To escape from the fire at home, he is raking up unrelated issues. The comments he made about CM Revanth Reddy are the result of confusion and desperation,' he said. Mr Ponnam Prabhakar demanded Mr. KTR reveal who those demons around Mr. KCR were as claimed by Ms. Kavitha. The effort to divert the precarious situation developing in the BRS will not fructify and Mr. KTR has to answer the questions raised by Ms. Kavitha. Referring to the corruption allegations surrounding the Kaleshwaram project, Mr. Mahesh Goud claimed that KTR was nervous due to notices being issued to his father and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). 'People are now fully aware of the TRS's corruption over the last 10 years. Even Kavitha has admitted the party's mistakes.' he said. He further alleged that there is a secret understanding between BRS and BJP, which was revealed subtly through Ms. Kavitha's letter to her father. He claimed that BRS was on the verge of a major split with Kavitha and KTR at odds. 'Harish Rao is watching carefully, waiting for his moment. KCR himself is reportedly confined to his farmhouse, unable to manage the internal turmoil,' he claimed adding that the BRS will disappear from Telangana's political landscape.

TPCC chief challenges KTR to seek probe into Palamuru project

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao of misleading the public by portraying the court's ruling on the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project as a vindication of the BRS party's actions. He recalled that senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy had originally filed the case against the project while he was still with the Congress, submitting substantial evidence to the court. "After filing the case, BRS lured him into the party and diluted the legal challenge. How can someone fight a case against your party chief while being part of your party," Mahesh Goud questioned. Calling on KTR to prove his commitment to transparency, Mahesh Goud urged him to formally request the govt to initiate a probe. "If you truly believe there was no wrongdoing, write to chief minister Revanth Reddy requesting a CID investigation or a judicial inquiry. Let the truth come out. KTR should step forward and prove his integrity," he said.

PCC chief challenges KTR's claims on PRLI scheme court verdict

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has strongly countered BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao's claims that the Supreme Court has given a clean chit on the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, and accused him of misleading the public and trying to cover up past corruption. Responding to KTR's claims, Mr Mahesh Goud reminded that it was Nagam Janardhan Reddy, then a Congress leader, who had filed the case against irregularities in the scheme. 'With full evidence, he exposed the misdeeds in the project. Later, he was taken into the BRS party, and the case was diluted deliberately,' Mr. Goud alleged. Questioning the moral integrity of the BRS leadership, he asked, 'How can someone who filed a case against K. Chandrasekhar Rao be welcomed into the same party? Is that not a ploy to bury the case?' Mr. Goud challenged the BRS working president to write to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanding a thorough investigation into the allegations. 'Let the State government decide whether it should be a CID probe or a judicial inquiry. If KTR truly believes he is honest, he should come forward and welcome the investigation,' he asserted. Only a full and independent probe would reveal the truth about the Palamuru-Rangareddy scheme and expose the alleged corruption, he claimed, adding that the BRS leadership cannot escape scrutiny by twisting court verdicts. 'We will not rest until the truth is brought before the people,' he affirmed.

Kishan Reddy simply parroting KTR's words, says Jagga Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T Jagga Reddy claimed here on Monday that 'there's a rumour going around that Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is simply repeating what KTR says.' At a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan, he said, 'The death of 17 people at Gulzar House is heartbreaking. The moment he heard about the accident, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alerted the officials. If the CM himself had gone to the spot it would have hindered the rescue work, so he sent ministers and senior officers instead'. Reddy further said: 'It is tragic that 17 people lost their lives at Gulzar House. As soon as he got the news, CM alerted the GHMC officials'. The CM felt that his presence onsite would only disturb the officials, so he activated the ministers and officers and oversaw the relief efforts from there. Despite everything, lives were lost. Someone close to me also lost family members in the accident, he added. He stated: 'Kishan Reddy came too—well, that's his responsibility, so he came. He is a Union Minister; if necessary, he can talk to the Prime Minister, or at least call the CM directly and give suggestions. Instead of doing what he should, he chose to fling mud'. He forgot he is a Union Minister and spoke like a local streetcorner leader. Kishan Reddy isn't usually like that, but on Sunday he shouldn't have behaved that way. I've had a good acquaintance with him myself. Kishan Reddy should stop criticising and learn how to serve, Jagga Reddy said. The Congress leader further said: 'A friend told me, 'KTR must have briefed Kishan Reddy and sent him. I wondered: he comes if Modi tells him, but would he also come if KTR tells him? Seventeen deaths are no small matter. Revanth, too, would have wanted to save all 17 lives. In Gujarat, a bridge collapsed and 140 people died—did Rahul Gandhi say anything to Modi then? Yet here, Kishan Reddy came and slung mud'. 'Kishan Reddy's 'Bharat Mata Yatra' was a good yatra. If there are issues, he should have called the CM and pointed them out,' he said. 'The Cherlapalli railway station was inaugurated online by Modi; when the first rains came, the tin sheets flew off—did CM Revanth criticise Modi? He acted responsibly as CM, but you are acting irresponsibly. All Kishan Reddy seems keen on is playing politics – that mindset is wrong. There's a buzz that KTR tells him what to say and Kishan Reddy repeats it. I say to Kishan Reddy: Stop the criticism and learn to serve.'
