Milwaukee HSSA: Pewaukee's Amy Terrian named Wisconsin Ms. Basketball
Amy Terrian, a senior at Pewaukee High School, was honored as the 2025 Wisconsin Ms. Basketball by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association on Friday. Terrian, who has committed to Michigan State, played a pivotal role in leading her team to a sectional final berth this season. Alongside her twin sister Anna, Amy Terrian helped Pewaukee to a 25-3 record. Last year, Anna Terrian was a Milwaukee High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball Player of the Year nominee. This season, she averaged 14.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game and led her team to the Woodland West title. Terrian won the award over the other finalists, The Prairie School's JJ Barnes, Hartford's Makena Christian, Lakeland's Kristina Ouimette and Hortonville's Rainey Welson. Terrian is Pewaukee's all-time leading scorer with 1,812 points. She also led her team to 108 career victories, four regional titles, four conference titles, three state tournament appearances and a Division 2 state title in 2024, which was the first in the program's history. Terrian joins an impressive list of former Wisconsin Ms. Basketball winners, including KK Arnold (2023), Sidney Cooks (2017) and Arike Ogunbowale (2015). The 2024-25 Milwaukee High School Sports Awards, Presented by Piggly Wiggly, are June 18 at the Miller High Life Theatre. Tickets are on sale now. Fatal crash in southwest Missouri kills four; injures six others
VERNON COUNTY, Mo. — A fatal car crash in southwest Missouri left four people dead on Friday night, including three recent high school graduates. The crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Highway 54 in Vernon County when a Toyota Corolla with a 49-year-old driver and four passengers ages 38, 18, 19, and 21 crashed into a GMC Terrain driven by a 38-year-old also with four passengers ages 39, two 16-year-olds, and an 18-year-old. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Toyota Corolla failed to stop at an intersection near Highway 54 and struck the GMC Terrain. Creve Coeur man charged in xenophobic attack at grocery store: Police Three women in the Toyota Corrola ages 18, 19, and 21 were killed, and the 38-year-old driver in the Terrian was also pronounced dead after the crash. According to affiliate station KSNF, the three women have been identified by Climax Springs School District as Ava Wolfe, Jayden Butterfield, and Violet Corado. Wolfe and Butterfield were reportedly employees at the school district. The three women were going home in the Toyota Corolla after a basketball game when the crash occurred, according to the school district. The 49-year-old driver and 38-year-old passenger in the Toyota suffered from serious injuries.
