KCMO crash now being investigated as homicide, police say
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating after they say a man was 'intentionally' struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday evening on East 51st Street near Swope Parkway.
Officers responded to the crash around 6 p.m. Thursday and found the victim with life-threatening injuries; he later died at the hospital.

KCPD's Accident Investigation Unit was initially handling the investigation, but after a short time, preliminary findings showed that it appeared the man was intentionally hit, police said in a news release Friday.
The death is now being investigated as a homicide. The victim was identified by police as 50-year-old Terry Lindsey.
A person of interest was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
Detectives are searching for witnesses and surveillance footage.
