Department of Homeland Security Considering Pitch for U.S. Citizenship Competition Reality Show
The Department of Homeland Security is considering a reality television show pitch from a Duck Dynasty producer that would focus on U.S. citizenship. The show, called The American, would put immigrants through a series of challenges as they compete for U.S. citizenship. It's being pitched by reality TV veteran Rob Worsoff (Duck Dynasty, The Millionaire Matchmaker), as he confirmed on his Facebook page on Friday. 'It's not mean spirited. Instead, 'The American' is a celebration of what it means to be… well… American – At a time when our morale is at an all-time low,' Worsoff said. 'The Department of Homeland Security receives hundreds of television show pitches a year, ranging from documentaries surrounding ICE and CBP border operation to white collar investigations by HSI,' McLaughlin said. 'Each proposal undergoes a thorough vetting process prior to denial or approval.' McLaughlin said The American was in the 'beginning stages of that vetting process and has not received approval or denial by staff.' The Daily Mail was the first to report the news. The Daily Mail reported that Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was pushing the project, which McLaughlin in her statement denied. In his statement, Worsoff said he hadn't spoken to Noem yet but says he has been working with some of her colleagues at the DHS. He also suggested that he had pitched the show during former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden's administrations. 'It was never a flat-out NO from any admin. It was always just about timing,' he said. Worsoff also confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that the program would be a competition show where citizens compete in stereotypically American activities like collecting gold from a mine in San Francisco or assembling a Model T in Detroit. Alec Baldwin wants more kids
Alec Baldwin "really wants" more children. The 67-year-old actor is already dad to Ireland, 29, from his marriage to Kim Basinger and Carmen, 22, Rafael, nine, Leonardio, eight, Romeo, six, Eduardo and Lucia, both four, and two-year-old Ilaria with wife Hilaria, and though the yoga instructor currently feels too "tired" to add to their brood again, she knows it would be "beautiful" to have another baby. Hilaria, 41, told Tori Spelling on her 'misSPELLING' podcast: "Oh, Alec really wants more kids, like really, really ... "If it's meant to be, yeah, we'll see. It's always been a beautiful thing when we've had another kid, and I think that that's something that he leans into when he's thinking about how to create more joy in his life, is that they bring us such joy, and there's just so magical. "But we'll see. I'm tired right now." Hilaria and Alec underwent IVF treatment in 2019 but she tragically lost the baby "four or five months" into the pregnancy. She said: "I tried IVF one time, and it went not in the way that I wanted to, where everything seemed like it was going to be fine. "And then I lost the baby like four or five months, which was not a fun experience, obviously, and one that is all too common. "And so I got pregnant naturally, like I did with my other ones." And though they had a remaining embryo, Hilaria decided not to carry the baby herself, and so Lucia was born to a surrogate just months after brother Eduardo came into the world. She added: "I was like, I can't put another - this other embryo inside, because I feel like my body rejected that process. "I don't know why. And look, I mean, that probably is a completely irrational thing, there was no explanation to what had happened. "But I was so sure at that time, I was like, I can't. "So I did surrogacy at the same time that I was pregnant." 'The Baldwins' star gave birth to Ilaria in 2023, and Hilaria told Romper that she was probably her last child. Hilaria said: "This is probably, most definitely, almost completely my last baby. "I'm always afraid to say it. I was putting away my maternity clothes recently and was like, 'I'm afraid to give them away, because then I'll find out I'm pregnant.'"

‘Rust' director skipped watching Alec Baldwin's reality show: ‘Was busy hitting myself in the face with a frying pan'

The film's first assistant director, David Halls pled guilty to the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon last March. He was sentenced to six months of probation.

The one piece of outdated technology Alec Baldwin refuses to give up
Alec Baldwin hasn't fully entered his digital era — at least not with his scheduling habits. During a sneak peek of 'The Baldwins' April 6 episode, shared exclusively by Parade on Friday, the 67-year-old '30 Rock' alum looks over his upcoming schedule with his assistant. But viewers might be shocked to learn that, from Baldwin's point of view, there's no app for that. 'One of the funniest things that I tell people about Alec is that Alec insists on using a Microsoft Word calendar template,' Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 41, says in the sneak peek. 'I don't even want to know how long,' she continues, 'but I've been using it every day for the last two-and-a-half years.' 'And it's so funny because we make so many changes every single day,' she adds. Hilaria Baldwin says she has tried to convince her husband to switch to an online calendar — that way, the changes she makes to his schedule show up automatically and immediately. 'But instead he has to wait until 8:00 p.m. every night for me to send the new Microsoft Word calendar,' she quips. Sunday's episode will be the seventh installment of 'The Baldwins' since its Feb. 23 premiere. The reality show gives viewers and fans an 'intimate, behind-the-scenes look into the lives of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children,' according to TLC's website. 'This series blends the highs and lows of family life, with the challenges and humor that come while raising a large family in the public eye,' the network adds in the description. The couple met in February 2011, announced their engagement in April 2012 and tied the knot three months later at the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in New York, according to Today. They share seven children together — Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2 — and have eight pets (four cats and four dogs), per Us Weekly. New episodes of 'The Baldwins' air on TLC every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.

Alec Baldwin paid $500K ‘minimum' for hosting Planet Hollywood party: Insider
Welcome to 'The Scoop' — the ultimate back-to-the-office water cooler cheat sheet, your go-to source for all things everyone really wants to know! Get the latest on everything from the political swamp maneuvering in D.C. and Hollywood drama to jaw-dropping small-town shenanigans from Paula Froelich. Subscribe to her newsletter here. (NewsNation) — It's hard to pay the bills these days — especially if you have seven children under the age of 12. Eyebrows were raised last week when it was announced that Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, were hosting the Planet Hollywood reopening in Times Square — a gig I'm told earned him a 'minimum' appearance/hosting fee of $500,000. Alec Baldwin's show 'The Baldwins' fails to attract audience 'It was just odd,' my insider said. 'Alec Baldwin? He would never do that before (the 'Rust' shooting). He was an A-List Hollywood actor.' But since the 'Rust' incident, where he accidentally shot and killed videographer Halyna Hutchins, things have changed. While all charges were eventually dropped against Baldwin, years of legal fees drained his coffers, and acting jobs dried up. [He currently has only four proposed jobs listed on IMDB, three of which are in 'preproduction']. And although Alec and Hilaria have the TLC reality show, 'The Baldwins,' it has suffered from dwindling ratings and major criticism from critics and audiences. Is Hilaria Baldwin taking her shot at stardom? So when Planet Hollywood owner Robert Earl came knocking, Alec and his wife answered. One event organizer who organizes major events for large companies told me, 'For someone of Alec's caliber, it would cost a minimum of $500,000 for him to host, but possibly even more as he hosted it and therefore would have had to stay all night. They're horsetrading on his name, so they'd have to pay big money.' At the same event, Boy George was billed as the DJ and 50 Cent as the 'special guest' — my source said they also would have gotten similar money. And while Pete Davidson also showed, my source said he likely got a fee as well. Beyonce's fans are starting to get angry, revolt 'Nobody does an event like that for free,' the event manager said. 'They all get an appearance fee.' One man who did show for free? New York City Mayor Eric Adams — who was promptly booed by the crowd on arrival. Reps for Baldwin didn't return emails.
