Alec Baldwin paid $500K ‘minimum' for hosting Planet Hollywood party: Insider

(NewsNation) — It's hard to pay the bills these days — especially if you have seven children under the age of 12.
Eyebrows were raised last week when it was announced that Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, were hosting the Planet Hollywood reopening in Times Square — a gig I'm told earned him a 'minimum' appearance/hosting fee of $500,000.
Alec Baldwin's show 'The Baldwins' fails to attract audience
'It was just odd,' my insider said. 'Alec Baldwin? He would never do that before (the 'Rust' shooting). He was an A-List Hollywood actor.'
But since the 'Rust' incident, where he accidentally shot and killed videographer Halyna Hutchins, things have changed.
While all charges were eventually dropped against Baldwin, years of legal fees drained his coffers, and acting jobs dried up. [He currently has only four proposed jobs listed on IMDB, three of which are in 'preproduction'].
And although Alec and Hilaria have the TLC reality show, 'The Baldwins,' it has suffered from dwindling ratings and major criticism from critics and audiences.
Is Hilaria Baldwin taking her shot at stardom?
So when Planet Hollywood owner Robert Earl came knocking, Alec and his wife answered.
One event organizer who organizes major events for large companies told me, 'For someone of Alec's caliber, it would cost a minimum of $500,000 for him to host, but possibly even more as he hosted it and therefore would have had to stay all night. They're horsetrading on his name, so they'd have to pay big money.'
At the same event, Boy George was billed as the DJ and 50 Cent as the 'special guest' — my source said they also would have gotten similar money. And while Pete Davidson also showed, my source said he likely got a fee as well.
Beyonce's fans are starting to get angry, revolt
'Nobody does an event like that for free,' the event manager said. 'They all get an appearance fee.'
One man who did show for free? New York City Mayor Eric Adams — who was promptly booed by the crowd on arrival.
Reps for Baldwin didn't return emails.

Prince Edward Could Predict ‘Desperately Lonely' Harry's Future Amid Reports Charles' Funeral May Be the Last Time He Ever Sees His Family Again
Recent news about the British Royal family paints a very complicated picture of the dynamics. King Charles is very sick, and there are reports that succession plans are already underway. He and Prince Harry are reportedly not on speaking terms. Neither are Prince Harry and Prince William. And recent reports indicate Kate Middleton might be trying to fix the rift, after Harry said he wanted a reconciliation in a recent interview. Prince Harry wanting more of a connection with his family might be a new development, but it's certainly not a surprising one. Recent reports indicate that though Harry is living in a beautiful home with his wife and children, he is still 'desperately lonely,' according to friends. More from StyleCaster Duchess Sophie Subtly Took a Side in William & Harry's Feud Amid Reports He Caused 'Irreparable Harm' to the Royals Charles' Funeral Could Be the Last Time Harry & William Ever See Each Other Again Amid Claims There's 'No Turning Back' in Their Feud Related: Did William really cheat on Kate? Newsnation went deep into this, explaining the dynamics of Harry's friend circle, and how that makes him similar to the infamous Prince Edward. 'He doesn't really have any real friends in the area except for (fellow polo player) Nacho (Figueras) and Nacho travels constantly for polo matches,' one friend told the outlet. 'He is still very close with the 'band of brothers' who were at his wedding — particularly Guy Pelley and Mark Dyer, but… they live in England and the time zones are so different it's very hard to talk regularly. And again, there is no one for him to hang out with (in person) besides Nacho when he is in town or Meghan and the children. He spends a lot of his time chilling with his bodyguards.' Prince Harry reportedly 'has one foot in the past,' People magazine reported, which the outlet said translates to how 'It's harder to forge deep friendships with people when you're older, especially if you're wary they may speak to the press.' For some, this is very familiar. 'It's like history is repeating itself,' the friend also told NewsNation, referencing Edward VIII, later known as the Duke of Windsor, after he gave up being king to marry Wallis Simpson. After he abdicated, he reportedly had very little contact with the royal family and spent most of his time with his wife in Paris. The two were considered outcasts, and Edward VII only met with his brother King George a few times after his abdication, briefly and without his wife. This comes after reports that Harry's relationship with William is irrevocably broken. Fox News reported that sources don't expect the brothers to see each other again unless Charles dies. 'The funeral of Charles would be the first time that courtiers would imagine [them reuniting],' the outlet said. 'I can't imagine William would invite Harry to his coronation.' According to People, 'Meghan wishes her husband could feel less burdened by the past and more present in the life they've built together.' But Newsnation's source disputed that. 'Please — look how easily she cut her own father out of her life after he displeased her. She's good at it. She is fine never speaking with her father again. Harry is not. England was his entire life — of course he has a foot in the past. He is lonely and misses his friends and family. He used to be able to call people up, go have a pint and hang out anytime. He can't do that now. Now he just has his bodyguards.' This explains Harry's recent interview, where he said, 'I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.' Now, whether a reconciliation is truly in the cards or not, remains to be seen. Hoda Kotb responds to rumors about replacing Kelly Clarkson on daytime TV
(NewsNation) — Hoda Kotb recently told one fan that she is a 'never-say-never person' when it comes to hosting a daytime talk show. During an episode of 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,' the 60-year-old former anchor of The Today Show was asked about Kelly Clarkson's talk show. 'I heard the rumors that you might be starting a daytime talk show. Is that something you would ever consider doing?' Tom Felton joins 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on Broadway Kotb responded with, 'Are you talking about the Kelly Clarkson rumor?' She then said Clarkson is a 'class all by herself,' but she would never say never when it comes to a talk show. 'You don't know what life's gonna bring you. But, at this moment, I'm having such fun with the ride that I'm on,' she continued. On May 28, Kotb went on the Today Show to talk about her wellness venture called Joy 101. While there, her replacement, Craig Melvin, asked about the Clarkson rumors. She responded to the question, saying, 'Do y'all think — I want to ask y'all a real question — do you think if I ever came back to TV, do you know where the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here. This is the spot… Delete, not true.' Kotb left her position at the Today Show in January after being on the show for 17 years. She told PEOPLE that it was because her six-year-old daughter Hope was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2023. Clarkson had missed 10 tapings in a row of her show in March, and fans were baffled at the time. There were even reports circulating that she wanted to quit her daytime talk show. Fans were even more confused when she cited 'personal reasons' for being absent. A source at the time told NewsNation's Paula Froelich that Clarkson was out because her ex-husband was sick. 'Her ex-husband is sick and she took the kids to see him,' the source said. Brandon Blackstock was a music manager until recently, when he stopped working for the company his father founded, Starstruck Entertainment. The former couple has a 10-year-old daughter, River Rose, and a 9-year-old son, Remington Alexander, together. Clarkson filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, with the two-year custody and spousal support battle ending in 2022. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. McDaniel: Trump, Musk feud like Ross and Rachel on ‘Friends'
Former Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Ronna McDaniel during a recent TV appearance equated the bitter feud between President Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk to the cyclical relationship between Ross and Rachel on the sitcom 'Friends.' 'I'm hoping it's like a Ross and Rachel thing. That it's just a break and they come back together. You know, we all panicked when they broke up on 'Friends,'' McDaniel said in a Thursday night appearance on NewsNation's 'Cuomo,' adding that she hopes they 'come back together.' Musk, who heads six companies, has been slamming Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' that is currently moving through Congress. He amped up the rhetoric Thursday, taking direct jabs at Trump by backing a call for the president to be impeached and accusing him of being in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump threatened to cancel the contracts that Musk's companies have with the federal government. Earlier at the White House on Thursday, Trump said he was 'very surprised' and 'very disappointed' in Musk over his criticism of the massive spending bill that passed the House last month. 'I think Trump's — you've seen Trump forgive people who have said things about him. You've seen these two men work very closely together. Elon was a big part of this election,' the former RNC chair told host Chris Cuomo. 'He came in, their businesses have both suffered, they've been attacked, they've taken a lot of personal hits for coming out politically, and I hope in the end they call a truce.' Cuomo then asked McDaniel if she thinks both men are 'worth more or less than before the election?' 'I think they're both worth more,' she said in response. Trump is looking to move past the fallout. Officials close to the White House did not rule out the possibility of the two men fixing their relationship. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
