'Weird Al' Yankovic to bring comedy rock show to Waite Park

"Weird Al" Yankovic, the world's best-selling comedy recording artist, will bring his comedy rock show to Minnesota this year. The just-announced BIGGER & WEIRDER 2025 tour includes a Thursday, Sept. 11 stop at The Ledge Amphitheater in Waite Park. "After two world tours in smaller venues with scaled-down, intimate shows featuring his original songs, Weird Al now returns to the big stage for the first time in six years, playing his iconic hits as well as some fan favorites, which have never been performed live," the tour announcement shares. The multimedia production will include a giant video wall, multiple costume changes and an eight-piece ensemble featuring Weird Al's original band, according to the announcement. A pop culture icon, Weird Al has won five Grammy awards and joins Madonna and Michael Jackson as one of three artists to ever chart in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 in four consecutive decades. The 65-year-old performer is known for his parodies of hit songs from artists such as Taylor Swift, Usher, Nirvana, Eminem, Queen, Lady Gaga, and more. Katy Perry announces Target Center show; Earth, Wind & Fire to play Waite Park

Monday brought a flurry of concert announcements involving Minnesota, with Katy Perry and Earth, Wind and Fire among the acts announcing visits to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Perry, known for global hits including "California Gurls" and "Firework," announced on Monday The Lifetimes Tour, which will bring her to Target Center in Minneapolis on May 13. Tickets go on general sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, but presales start as soon as Tuesday. You can find more information from Live Nation here. Looking further ahead, Earth, Wind and Fire become the latest act added to the growing lineup at The Ledge Amphitheater this coming summer. The genre-spanning Chicago band, who have a huge catalogue of hits including "September," "Boogie Wonderland," and "Let's Groove," will play the outdoor venue on Sunday, August 10. Tickets go on general sale this Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster, but you can also access the Thursday presale by signing up for The Ledge's newsletter. Other acts confirmed for The Ledge this summer include Goo Goo Dolls, Chicago, Alison Krauss and Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Treasure Island Resort and Casino on Monday announced that rockers Incubus will play its Welch amphitheater on Saturday, July 8. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday at 10 a.m. More information here.
