The perfect Scottish Father's Day hike that ends at inn with delicious Sunday roast

The inn serves up beef, ham, and chicken roasts. Father's Day is just days away, taking place this Sunday. That means time is running out to plan the perfect day for your dad or loved one. The Daily Record previously rounded up a collection of whiskies perfect for a Father's Day gift. We also chose Scotland's 'whisky capital' as our latest Town of the Week, ideal for a Father's Day getaway. However, sometimes simpler is better and all you want to do is head out on a good hike. For that reason, the Daily Record has chosen a Scottish beauty spot perfect to head to with your loved one on Father's Day as our latest Walk of the Week. Beinn Dubh is a prominent hill situated near the picturesque village of Luss along the shores of Loch Lomond. From its summit, it offers magnificent vistas out over the iconic loch. The walk was named among the best in the country by VisitScotland. The experts praised the hill's "rewarding" views. The walk begins in Luss itself, from where you will walk through idyllic woodlands until you traverse the Glen Striddle horseshoe route. Walking along the ridge, you will be able to see the Arrochar Alps, The Cobbler, Beinn Ìme, and Doune Hill. According to VisitScotland, the walk can take anywhere from 3.5 to five hours to complete. By the end, you will no doubt have worked up quite the appetite—and luckily Luss is home to a renowned restaurant. With Father's Day falling on a Sunday, The Loch Lomond Arms is the perfect spot to sit down for a hearty lunch. The restaurant's Sunday menu includes beef, ham, and chicken roasts—as well as a range of sides. VisitScotland wrote: "For those feeling adventurous, the climb up Beinn Dubh and the Glen Striddle horseshoe route offers rewarding views over Loch Lomond and the surrounding Arrochar Alps." The tourism board added: "After that epic climb, you'll have earned a hearty meal! Dating back to the 17th century as a coaching inn, the Loch Lomond Arms is part of the Luss Estates, so their menu features quality Scottish produce from their own land, garden and grounds. "The hotel and pub is full of rich interiors, cosy nooks and open fires to rest and curl up with a wee dram." Read on for a few photos showing why Beinn Dubh is a great choice for a Father's Day hike. The full list of "10 stunning pub walks in Scotland" can be found on the VisitScotland website.
