Priyank Panchal retires from all forms of cricket
AHMEDABAD: , who captained India 'A' and played a key role in Gujarat's maiden title-winning campaign in 2016-17, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Monday. His decision was conveyed by the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). He was selected for the three-match Test series against South Africa in Dec 2021 as a replacement for the then-injured Rohit Sharma and was also part of the squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Feb 2022. This was the closest the 35-year-old came to playing for India. The selectors were impressed with his 96-run knock in the first innings against a South Africa 'A' side in Bloemfontein.
