Daughter of Bay Area radio figure faces felony charges for alleged ‘Bachelor' paternity scheme
(KRON) — Laura Owens, the daughter of popular Bay Area radio host Ronn Owens of 'The Ronn Owens Program,' was indicted by a grand jury in Maricopa County, Ariz. on May 1 for multiple felony charges related to an alleged paternity scheme involving 'Bachelor' star Clayton Echard.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell's office began investigating Laura Owens in July of 2024 at the request of a Superior Court Judge. The request stemmed from 'several inconsistent statements' made by Laura Owens during a paternity hearing involving Owens Echard, Mitchell said in a statement Tuesday.
'Owens originally filed a lawsuit seeking child support from Echard, then dropped her claim, alleging she'd had a miscarriage,' Mitchell's statement reads. 'MCAO investigators found that between May 2023 and June 2024, Owens altered an ultrasound image, fabricated a pregnancy video, and lied multiple times under oath.'
