Kate Middleton Makes Under-the-Radar Return to Work as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Head Back to School

Kate Middleton resumed royal duties on June 4 following Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' break from school The Princess of Wales, 43, reportedly held a meeting at Windsor Castle for her early years work Princess Kate and Prince William returned work on the same day, where William seemingly hinted at his rift with his brother, Prince HarryKate Middleton made a quiet return to work after spending some extra time with her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, during their school break. On June 4, Princess Kate officially headed back to work after several days off by holding an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle. The news was spotted in The Court Circular, the British royal family's official record of previous royal engagements, according to Hello! The Princess of Wales, 43, has made the early childhood years a core priority of her royal platform and founded The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021 to raise awareness around the importance of a child's first five years. Princess Kate took this mission to the next level by launching the Shaping Us campaign in January 2023 as a long-term initiative to "transform the issue from one of scientific interest to one of the most strategically important topics of our time," a statement said. That March, she unveiled the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood to galvanize business action to champion early childhood, with Ikea, LEGO, Unilever and more participating as partners. Kate headed to the meeting after spending some downtime with her own children. Princess Kate and Prince William cleared their calendars last week while Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, were off from school, as they are known to do when their kids are out of the classroom. The Prince and Princess of Wales are raising their kids differently than previous generations of royal parents by sending their children to day school instead of boarding school, and Kate's Early Years Meeting didn't take her far from home. The Wales family lives at Adelaide Cottage within Windsor Great Park, just a few minutes away from the ancestral castle. Prince William and Princess Kate both returned to work on Wednesday, and William traveled to Suffolk to visit the Army Air Corps for the first time in his official royal role as Colonel-in-Chief of the regiments. King Charles announced William to the prestigious role in August 2023 in an appointment that made waves, as it made him the leader of Prince Harry's former regiment. It was widely believed that the colonelcy was once earmarked for Harry, but the Duke of Sussex was forced to relinquish his military appointments when he and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal roles in 2020. Prince William, 42, might have hinted at his rift with his estranged brother Harry in a shock comment while visiting the Army Air Corps. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! While chatting with soldiers during a water break from combat training, the heir to the throne brought up family in a manner that some royal watchers interpreted as pointed. "Is the pace of life good at the moment [?]" William asked soldiers, the Daily Mail reported. After one man said that it was "a mixed bag," William replied, "Families okay? See you enough? Some of them might not want to see you that much. It's a mixed bag sometimes." Great strain remains between King Charles's sons amid a rift that first became public when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal roles five years ago. "The underlying issue is trust," royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE in this week's exclusive cover story. "The King and William don't trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation." Read the original article on People

Kate Middleton Is Keeping George, Charlotte and Louis Close in a Thoughtful Way During Scotland Trip

Kate Middleton debuted something new from her jewelry box that honors Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis during her trip to Scotland. On April 29, her wedding anniversary with Prince William, the Princess of Wales stepped out in Scotland for an official two-day trip across the isles of Mull and Iona with her husband. While Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 7, didn't tag along (and were likely busy with school), Princess Kate, 43, kept her children close with a set of necklaces. A close look showed that the Princess of Wales (who is called the Duchess of Rothesay or Lady of the Isles while in Scotland) layered two delicate gold necklaces as a tribute to her kids. The bespoke piece featured the initials G, C and L, representing the children in their birth order. The alphabet necklace wasn't all, as Kate added another that has long been in her collection. The Lady of the Isles (as she's technically called while in the Inner Hebrides of Mull and Iona) also wore her custom Gold Midnight Moon necklace from Daniella Draper. The royal has had it in her collection since at least 2020 and memorably wore it for the announcement unveiling The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021. Kate created the center to advocate around the importance of the early years and advance outcomes for a brighter society, honing this focus with the 2023 launch of the Shaping Us campaign to raise greater awareness. The set of necklaces celebrating her children wasn't the only sentimental jewelry Kate wore in Mull, as the princess also slipped on her While Princess Kate was outside of the spotlight for most of 2024 after announcing that she was receiving treatment for cancer (since sharing in January that she is in remission), she switched up her signature style by occasionally skipping her iconic engagement ring in lieu of a sparkle ring stack. "The ring that Kate wore is definitely a newer addition to her jewelry box. It's a slim, sparkling eternity-style band with alternating light and dark gemstones," Lauren Kiehna, founder of The Court Jeweller blog, told PEOPLE about Kate's new ring, first spotted in August. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! "Many of these eternity bands reflect family relationships. Given that her children's birthstones are rubies, emeralds and diamonds, it wouldn't surprise me if the gems set in the new ring are linked to George, Charlotte and Louis," Kiehna speculated of its significance. Kate Middleton shares hand-drawn portraits by her and her children

Looks like the royal family has some budding artists in the making! On Monday, the official social media accounts of Kate Middleton and Prince William shared four portraits created by the Princess of Wales and her children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — during a family art session as part of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. Princess Kate and each of the young royals put their own artistic spin on family portraiture. The drawings apparently by 6-year-old Prince Louis and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte were colorful and vibrant, while the illustration seemingly by 11-year-old Prince George of his mother was more detailed. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales joined in on the fun, sketching what seemed to be Prince Louis with his eyes closed. The drawings were a part of the royal foundation's 'Shaping Us Framework' initiative, which highlights the role that creativity plays in childhood development. The Princess of Wales launched the Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021. 'These skills are key throughout our lives, shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us,' the post sharing the portraits said. 'Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and — most importantly — having lots of fun together!"
