The Seven Dogs Wraps Filming In Riyadh With A Budget Exceeding $40 Million

Filming has officially wrapped for The Seven Dogs, the largest Arab cinematic production to date, with a budget exceeding $40 million. The movie was shot at the Big Time Studios in Riyadh. Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), shared details of the film in a post on his official X account, also revealing that five more film projects are in the pipeline, all to be produced to the highest international standards. Al-Sheikh noted that the story and concept of the film were developed by the GEA's Big Time team, with the script and dialogue written by Mohammed Al-Dabbah. The film stars Egyptian actors Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, alongside renowned Saudi actor Nasser Al-Qasabi, as well as a selection of leading Arab and international stars.

Yara Sameh Production has wrapped on Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz's highly-anticipated film "The Seven Dogs" after a 10-month shooting period. Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are helming the film from a script by Mohamed El-Dabbah. The pic is based on a story by the head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Sheikh and the Big Time team. The cast also includes Menna Shalaby, Tara Emad, Hannah El Zahed, Sayed Ragab, Saudi Arabian actor Nasser Al Qasabi, Hala Sedki, and more. The pic will be the first film to be shot in Big Time Al-Husn Studios, one of MENA region's biggest film and television production facilities, with additional shooting at Riyadh Boulevard. Riyadh will serve as a stand-in for multiple international cities, including Mumbai and Shanghai. The film is considered to be the largest Arab film production to date with a budget exceeding $40 million. The $40M project is being hailed as a gamechanger for Saudi Arabia as it continues its drive to become the Middle East and North Africa's biggest film and TV hub. It is produced by Jeddah-based entertainment company Sela, with Ivan Atkinson (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man) lead producing. "The Seven Dogs" marks the fourth collaboration between Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz after blockbuster films "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya" and "Kira & El Gin" and season 2 of the critically acclaimed TV series 'El Ekhteyar ll'. In the film, Ezz plays Interpol officer Khalid Al-Azzazi, who apprehends Ghali Abu Dawood (Aziz), a high-ranking member of the clandestine global crime syndicate known as 7 Dogs. A year later, the organization resurfaces, trafficking a dangerous new drug—Pink Lady—across the Middle East. With time running out, Khalid reluctantly join forces with Ghali, the only person with intimate knowledge of the syndicate's operations. Their uneasy alliance propels them on a high-stakes mission across multiple global cities as they strive to dismantle the organization and prevent the drug from flooding Arab streets. Turki al-Sheikh, the head of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, stirred up controversy on Tuesday after announcing the cancellation of the film 'The Seven Dogs,' starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, following a horrific accident involving the crew during filming. Al-Sheikh posted photos of actor Ahmed Ezz during the filming of a large explosion scene on his official Facebook account, writing, 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, after the director and two members of the filming crew were injured, the project will be canceled with compensation for the producer, actors, and filming crew.' Al-Sheikh continued in another post, writing, 'Photos from the accident that injured the director and filming crew, and thank God for the safety of the star Ahmed Ezz.' He added, 'The film will be canceled, and the producer, actors, and crew will be compensated with an additional 25 percent due to their significant effort over the past months. Those responsible for negligence and shortcomings in safety conditions will be held accountable.' Returning to his official Facebook account, Turki Al-Sheikh wrote, 'Hope we never come around with bad news,' indicating that the uproar he caused regarding the accident was an April Fool's prank for 2025. 'The Seven Dogs' stars Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Ezz, Hana El Zahed, Tara Emad, Sayed Ragab, and a plethora of Egyptian and Arab actors. The film also features appearances by international stars as guest of honor. The story is by Turki Al-Sheikh and the Big Time team, with the screenplay and dialogue by Mohamed El Dabbah, and directed by the internationally acclaimed duo Adel and Belal, whose last project was 'Bad Boys 3.'
