Sally Potter: at 75 I've gone from movies to rapping
Sally Potter once said that she had done everything 'at the wrong age'. She acted on screen for the first time in her forties and became a singer-songwriter in her seventies, having spent most of her life directing films, most famously Orlando with Tilda Swinton. 'To me it doesn't feel like the wrong age, but I'm aware that people don't normally make their dancing film debut at 46,' says Potter, now 75. She is referring to The Tango Lesson (1997), a fictionalised account of her being taught by the Argentine master Pablo Verón, which she wrote and directed and starred in. 'That film was considered a self-sabotaging form of madness. But it's endured.'
She hopes it will be the same for her two albums: Pink
