Gordon Ramsay's plush LA pad was reportedly swamped by police following a dramatic hoax phone call claiming gunshots were heard at the celebrity chef's residence. The Scots chef 's US home saw an influx of cops surrounding it on Tuesday after a call came through around 8.40pm local time, alerting authorities that a shooter had unleashed gunfire at Ramsay's Bel Air estate. Authorities swiftly deduced the allegations to be bogus. Local residents backed this, saying there was no commotion, and reports indicate Gordon was not on the premises during the ordeal. TMZ had law enforcement sources confirming that the event seemed to be another "swatting" prank. Detectives are looking into the matter, though no one has been nicked for the stunt so far. Swatting pranks involve making false reports to lure a massive police response against someone. The trend has taken off in the States, ensnaring several A-list celebrities as victims, reports the Mirror . Nicki Minaj's Hidden Hills mansion fell prey to a similar sham earlier this month after a supposed shooting was reported. That call was also found to be a fabrication. Last year, megastars Jennifer Aniston, Chris Brown, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber all reportedly faced such deception, and even Tom Cruise was caught up in a swatting incident back in 2013. Gordon is currently engrossed in preparations for his daughter's wedding. Holly, 25, will soon walk down the aisle to exchange vows with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, 30, with nuptials planned for December. The couple, who met on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, have taken to social media to announce their engagement. In a recent interview, she shared how her renowned chef father will contribute to her special day. When questioned about whether her dad would be in charge of the wedding menu, she confirmed: "Yes! Oh my goodness, he's been so excited from the beginning." She added: "We've always talked about him doing the food. I guess it will be very much like the food we have at home, nothing too fancy.
