Image via Michael Le Brecht II/ABC via Getty Michael Strahan , the NFL legend, has always maintained a pretty close bond with his ex and present colleagues, including his former Good Morning America colleague, Sara Haines. The NFL legend has always praised his parents, Gene and Louise Strahan, for the upbringing they provided to him, but it seems like Sara Haines might have just revealed a family secret that even Michael Strahan did not know. Michael Strahan was left shocked when he got to know a family secret from ex colleague Sara Haines The Weekend View – May 24, 2025 Recently, Michael Strahan's ex colleague Sara Haines spoke about an incident related to the NFL legend's family that she got to know before Strahan. On The Weekend View, Sara Haines said, 'I went to shoot with his parents before his father died because I wanted … to give him time with his parents … where they just talked about him. They shared with me that they ate the pig.' The pig that Sara Haines was speaking about was a family pig that the Strahan family had while Michael Strahan was growing up along with his siblings. Sara Haines added, 'I come back and I'm giving Michael a hard time, as one would, and I joked about the pig. And he's like, 'What are you talking about?' He didn't know. He didn't know 'cause they were all young.' Apparently, as revealed by Sara Haines on The Weekend View, Michael Strahan had no idea that his family ate the pig they had. Michael Strahan's Wild Family Story Of How His Childhood Pet Ended Up On The Dinner Table

has faced tough tackles on the football field, early mornings on "Good Morning America," and high-stakes moments in broadcasting. However, nothing prepared him for the jaw-dropping family secret he uncovered years later. His childhood pet pig was actually served for dinner. The former NFL star and TV host, who grew up between Houston, Texas, and Germany as one of five siblings, had no idea that the pig he once cared for had become a family meal. That is, until Michael Strahan's former "GMA" colleague accidentally let it slip. , who worked alongside Strahan on "GMA," revealed the story during an episode of "The Weekend View" on May 24. As part of a heartwarming segment filmed before the passing of Strahan's father, Gene, in 2020, Haines sat down with his parents, Gene and Louise Strahan, for an intimate interview about Michael's childhood. "I went to shoot with his parents before his father died because I wanted to give him time with his parents," Haines explained. "As one of five children, they just talked about him." But in the midst of reminiscing, a surprising confession emerged. "They shared with me that they ate the pig," Haines said. "And [Michael] didn't know. He didn't know, 'cause they were all young." Unaware of the culinary fate of his pet, Michael was blindsided when Haines brought it up to him later. "I come back and I'm giving Michael a hard time, as one would, and I joked about the pig," she recalled. "And he's like, 'What are you talking about?'" Realizing she had spilled a long-held family secret, Haines admitted she instantly felt guilty. "He was like, 'I had no idea.' And he called his mom. I was like, 'I didn't mean to betray the family trust! I just thought you told him!'" Now a proud dog dad to pups Enzo and Zuma, whom he introduced in 2023, Strahan may have traded pigs for poodles, but it's safe to say his family history still has a few wild stories to tell. As his past childhood stories come to light, Strahan is focusing on the children of his own. The former NFL player and his daughter, Isabella, recently opened up about a life-changing year that tested their strength, deepened their bond, and ultimately brought new perspective to their lives. In an issue of Town & Country Magazine, the "Good Morning America" co-anchor appears alongside 20-year-old Isabella on the cover, where the father-daughter duo speaks candidly about her harrowing battle with medulloblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. Isabella first revealed her diagnosis publicly in January. Now cancer-free, she's using her voice to raise awareness and reflect on how the experience has reshaped her understanding of life and resilience. "I feel like I'm 50 years old, with all this life experience," Isabella told the magazine. "I've grown in so many ways. I'm super grateful for walking and talking again. You don't think about the things you can do until you live without them." Medulloblastoma is a fast-growing malignant tumor that develops in the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for movement and coordination. It is most commonly found in children and accounts for roughly 20% of all pediatric brain tumors, according to data published in the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience. Isabella underwent treatment at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, where her recovery began. For Michael, watching his daughter navigate such a serious illness was nothing short of heartbreaking. "It was definitely tough and painful to watch," he shared. "It was painful for her to get out of bed and move and do those things that are completely necessary for her to do. As a parent, to see that was unsettling at times." Despite the physical toll and emotional weight of her diagnosis, Michael says Isabella's courage never wavered. "Throughout this entire journey, Isabella has inspired and helped us all by how she has approached what she was facing," he said. "She has worked so hard, and with such amazing spirit. And she is still on a journey, with her vision, balance, and getting her weight back." The Strahans' story is one of love, perseverance, healing, and a reminder of how quickly life can change, as well as the strength it takes to fight for every step forward.

'She wasn't eating much,' he recalled to People in January about the model, who is now cancer-free. 'She was thin and tired and bald and all the things you hate to see your kid go through.' But, Strahan added that 'her spirit was there.' 'One of the things she said, probably the hardest thing I had to hear was, 'Dad I'll do whatever. I want to live,'' he said. 'I knew she wouldn't quit. She was going to fight — and she did.'

'The View' hosts defend motherhood after pop star Chappell Roan claims friends with kids 'are in hell'

"The Weekend View" hosts pushed back on pop star Chappell Roan's recent comments describing parenthood as "hell," and defended the "good parts" of motherhood on Saturday. Roan, known for recent hits like "Pink Pony Club" and "Good Luck, Babe!," faced backlash from pro-family commentators after she suggested that all of her friends with young children are leading joyless lives. On the "Call Her Daddy" podcast last week, Roan was asked about still being close with friends in her Midwestern hometown, acknowledging they have "very different lives." Seth Rogen Shuts Down Backlash Over His Decision To Not Have Children "All of my friends who have kids are in hell. I don't know anyone, I actually don't know anyone who's happy and has children, at this age," she answered. "I have not met anyone who's happy, anyone who has light in their eyes, anyone who's slept." Co-host Sara Haines argued that while parenting can be challenging at times, there are "good parts to it." Read On The Fox News App "The funny thing is it would be like, I think she is understanding the transparency that parenting is hard, but it's like telling someone about your breakup and then saying, 'I'm never dating again.' There's good parts to it," Haines said. The co-host also noted that she's "never felt more purpose" than she does as a mother. Co-host Sonny Hostin chimed in on the conversation, agreeing with Haines and explaining that even though it takes a lot of work to raise children, she cherishes the memories of those years. Click Here For More Coverage Of Media And Culture "I was an older mom. And the days are really long. But I will tell you, in retrospect, the years are quick. And that time period, I look back on it so fondly," Hostin explained. "I miss the ages of like five and eight. I miss almost every single thing." Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed that while she understands where Roan is coming from, having felt a similar way when she was in her mid-20's, she's excited about becoming a mother now. "I honestly felt exactly like Chappell Roan at her age… In my mid 20s, I wouldn't have said it as publicly. But I was like, 'Ooh, how are they doing that? It looks miserable. They look so stressed out all the time.'" Griffin recalled. "I'm going to be an older mom, but I cannot wait to be. So it's just like, for people it may be the timing, it may not look right to them…. I don't have a single person I know who's a mom is like, 'I wish, I regret that. I wish I hadn't been a mom.' I've never met anyone like that." While the hosts defended the satisfaction and purpose motherhood has brought them, they did acknowledge that parenting may not be for everyone, and that's okay. Haines told the other hosts about one of her friends who has children, but in hindsight feels that she may not be "cut out for it." "I have a friend that admitted to me she would never give back the two kids she had. She loves them dearly. But now that she knows what parenting looks like, she doesn't know if she was cut out for it. And I really respected her honesty," Haines recounted. The host agreed that parenting is "not something that should be pushed on everyone." She concluded, "It is some freaking hard work. And if you are not really die hard, you want it more than anything in the world, maybe you'd have a better life, like if you didn't have it."Ana Navarro noted that it's important for women not to judge one another on their decisions to start families. "Let's try not to judge each other as women, right? If some women want to have kids early, go right ahead. If some want to have them late, great. If they want to not have kids, great. To each their own," Navarro asserted.
