Karisma Kapoor Says Birthday Girl Sonam Kapoor Is 40 And She Looks ‘Fabulous'

Heartfelt wishes have been pouring in from all corners for the Raanjhanaa actress. Among them, her friend actress Karisma Kapoor also extended a warm birthday greeting. Taking to Instagram Stories, Karisma – fondly known as Lolo – shared a throwback picture with Sonam and captioned it, '40 and Fabulous! Happy Birthday, Darling Sonam. Happiness always." In the snapshot, the two actresses are seen standing close and posing for the camera. Sonam is dressed in an all-black high-neck outfit, while Karisma sports a dark floral dress. Apart from Karisma, several other celebrities took to Instagram to wish Sonam Kapoor on her special day. Bhumi Pednekar, Swara Bhasker, Ayesha Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Masaba Gupta, Malaika Arora and Natasha Poonawalla all made sure to send their warm wishes to the star. On the work front, Sonam Kapoor was last seen in the thriller film Blind, which also marked her acting comeback after welcoming her baby boy, Vayu. Directed by Shome Makhija, the film also stars Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, Lilette Dubey and Shubham Saraf in key roles. The story revolves around Gia, a blind former Scottish police officer who becomes the target of a psychotic serial killer. Relying on her instincts and detective skills, she must track him down with the help of a fellow detective. As of now, Sonam Kapoor has not officially announced her next project. However, reports suggest she may be seen in the upcoming drama film Battle of Bittora, an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's novel of the same name. If confirmed, this would mark her second collaboration with Chauhan after the 2019 adaptation of The Zoya Factor. Karisma Kapoor, on the other hand, was last seen in the 2024 mystery thriller Murder Mubarak, which premiered on Netflix. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film featured an ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Sanjay Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Tisca Chopra. She is reportedly set to appear next in the upcoming web series Brown, where she will portray a detective and recovering alcoholic investigating a complex murder case. First Published:
