Cierra Ortega Reached Out to Chelley Bissainthe After ‘Love Island USA' Exit

Cierra Ortega is attempting to stay connected to her fellow islanders beyond the Love Island USA villa. Olandria Carthen and Chelley Bissainthe made a joint appearance on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast for a tell-all interview about everything that went down during their time in Fiji—including the aftermath of Cierra's sudden exit—and the girlies didn't hold anything back. ICYMI, the trio seemed to have a close bond in the villa before Cierra left the island prematurely due to a 'personal situation' following her racism scandal. 'Have any of y'all spoke to Cierra since... everything? 'Cause I know you said that Nic hasn't, but has she reached out to either of you?' the pod's host, Keke Palmer, asked the pair after referring to Olandria's beau, Nic Vansteenberghe. According to Chelley, Cierra made an effort to reach out to her and clear up anything she might have seen or heard about the situation. 'I did get to speak to her, she did reach out. It's just a lot going on,' Chelley explained. 'We didn't know for what reason she was removed. Even when I came back, I couldn't really find what the post was or whatever.' She added, 'But I did see she reached out. She was just saying, you know, she misses all of us, she hates what's trying to, like, basically do better for herself and to reach out to us and say her apologies.' The reality TV personality, who finished in fifth place on Love Island USA with her partner Ace Greene, expressed that she sent well wishes to Cierra after receiving her message. 'I [was] just trying to give her grace because we're human at the end of the day, and I got to know her in the villa, as a person, through and through,' Chelley added. 'All of this happening to her, I wouldn't wish on anyone, but she's taken full account for her stuff and is just trying to get her mind right.' Following her exit on July 7, Cierra broke her silence on the situation surrounding her use of a racial slur. 'While I was in the villa, there were some posts that resurfaced from my past where I was very naively using an incredibly offensive and derogatory term,' she said, in part. 'I want to first start by addressing not just anyone that I have hurt or deeply offended, but most importantly, the entire Asian community—I am deeply, truly, honestly so sorry.' She also shared that she understands Peacock's decision to dump her from the show once the posts resurfaced, saying, 'I completely agree with the network's decision to remove me from the villa. This is something that deserved punishment, and the punishment has absolutely been received, for sure. I think the backlash has obviously been very hard to deal with, but I understand that people are kind of confused on why I would have even said it.' Of course, Chelley and Olandria caught Keke up with everything that's happened with them since their days in the villa. Check out Keke's full conversation with the pair below.

Keke Palmer addresses Jonathan Majors podcast axe

Keke Palmer's interview with Jonathan Majors was axed because it was deemed "insensitive". The 31-year-old actress had recorded an episode of her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast with the Magazine Dreams actor to be broadcast in April, but it was pulled following a backlash after Jonathan was found guilty of two misdemeanour counts of harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. While Keke felt it was important to "have the conversation" with Jonathan, her team ultimately felt it was inappropriate to broadcast the interview. She told The Breakfast Club: 'When I'm doing my hosting, I'm here to be unbiased. Everybody that sits in your chair, you don't agree with everything they did, you don't love everything, but you gotta have the conversation. 'You have to set the stage for them to speak and for people to watch and take what they wanna take from it, so that's why I was open and excited to do the interview. "Ultimately, with my partners, it was just decided — they saw the reaction that people felt it was insensitive, that maybe we shouldn't put it out.' The One of Them Days actress pondered that "maybe one day we get a chance" to release the interview. She added: 'It's always there, if people wanted to see it. But I always wanna be respectful and understand where everybody's coming from. If they're not going to feel like they're going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool." And Keke felt the backlash she faced for giving the Lovecraft Country star a platform was unfair. She said: 'I mean, people sit down with serial killers. I'm not comparing him to a serial killer, but at the end of the day, I felt like, as a journalist, I'm supposed to talk and we're supposed to hear and let the public decide how they want to feel. But that didn't get a chance to happen.' The Nope star wishes Jonathan and his wife Meagan Good "all the best". She added: 'I really wanna say that because I don't judge nobody 'cause I don't want to be judged. So at the end of the day, I'm happy for Meagan. I'm happy for them.'

Keke Palmer: Music is a vehicle of expression for me

Keke Palmer shares "more than [she] usually would" on her new album. The 31-year-old star has worked in the entertainment industry from an early age, but she's more candid than ever on her new record, Just Keke. Speaking to Extra, Keke shared: "Growing up being a child entertainer with Disney and Nickelodeon, I think for me was really about setting the stage for what it means to be a product and a performer and a brand and using that as a vehicle to address the parasocial relationship, and then kind of the glitch that is the album where I share a little bit more than I usually would … because of everything that's happened in my life thus far." Keke explores her break-up from fitness instructor Darius Jackson on the new album. She explained: "Music is a vehicle and it's an art form that allows you to express yourself in those deep kind of ways." Keke found recording the album to be an emotional experience. The singer - who split from Darius in acrimonious circumstances in 2023 - explained: "The reliving it wasn't difficult but addressing the emotions in the carnage … that it left was because I think I brushed it up in the corner and just let it sit and I was like, 'I moved on from it' … but when I got into the studio and actually had to look at the pile of trash in the corner, I realised how much grief it caused me and how heavy it was." Meanwhile, Keke previously admitted that she struggled to deal with childhood stardom. The movie star - who made her acting debut in Barbershop 2: Back in Business back in 2004 - admitted that she didn't know how to deal with the pressures of fame and success during her younger years. She said on her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast: "No one could relate to me - not my siblings, not even my parents. Anytime a dynamic is shifted like that it can get highly toxic, because no one knows how to deal with the trauma of being a celebrity, or having a celebrity child."

Victoria Monét spoke about her romance with rapper Stormzy on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast "He's a really special guy," said the "On My Mama" singer-songwriter Monét and Stormzy were spotted kissing in London last yearVictoria Monét is opening up about her romance with rapper Stormzy. In a new interview on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, the "On My Mama" singer-songwriter, 36, was asked about her relationship to Stormzy, 31, whom she was seen kissing in London in October 2024, less than a month after announcing her split from ex-boyfriend John Gaines. Host Keke Palmer brought up the topic and recalled a recent conversation with Stormzy about Monét: "I was hanging out with him at the Met Gala, and I said, 'You know my girl, Victoria.' He's like, 'Yeah, you know, she's amazing.'' While the Grammy winner seemed a bit caught off-guard, she spoke about the English-Ghanaian rapper, whose real name is Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., nonetheless. "Yeah, he's a really special guy," said Monét. "I have so much respect for him, and I got to learn more about him by dating him." She then paused, looked at Palmer and said, "We'll have to talk." In photos shared exclusively by The Sun in October 2024, Monét and Stormzy were spotted embracing and kissing at Heathrow Airport. The moment came less than a month after Monét shared news of her split from Gaines, with whom she shares 3-year-old daughter Hazel, as well as three months after Stormzy announced his own split from TV host Maya Jama. Monét and Gaines announced their breakup in a joint statement shared to social media on Sept. 23, and revealed that the actual date of their separation was 10 months beforehand. Elsewhere during the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer interview, Monét spoke about how co-parenting with Gaines post-breakup is "not ideal" but explained how they make it work. "I feel like I'm super blessed to have a partner who understands, also, that Hazel will eventually be able to see things, and he was able to compose himself, and so was I," she said. The "Alright" artist continued, "Any of the messy parts happened face to face, and we're able to now easily co-parent. He's super communicative. He has a great head on his shoulders. His mom did a wonderful job with him, so I feel blessed to have that in a partnership." Read the original article on People
