Taylor Swift announces track list for 'The Life of a Showgirl.' Here's everything to know

It seems as if Taylor Swift is swan-diving into the world of rhinestones, diamonds, velvet and cabaret for her newest era, "The Life of a Showgirl." The singer broke the news on the Aug. 13 podcast episode of "New Heights." Seated next to Travis Kelce, she lifted up a mint green and bright orange briefcase. "This is my brand-new album," Swift says and Jason Kelce screams with excitement. Taylor Swift's website is counting down to 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12

A countdown on Taylor Swift's website is leading fans to stay up until 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12. The countdown appeared three hours prior with a dazzling orange background behind it. Swifties began speculating a new era was on the horizon after Taylor Nation, the singer's in-house marketing team, posted to Instagram on the morning of August 11: "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…' ❤️‍🔥." The 12-photo carousel featured her orange bodysuits and dresses from the Eras Tour, along with a shot of her and Sabrina Carpenter during the surprise song set in New Orleans. Not long before the Taylor Nation post, Travis Kelce's account and the "New Heights" podcast page jointly teased a "VERY special guest" for an episode on Aug. 13. Centered between the Kelce brothers was a silhouette resembling Swift, sending fans into a frenzy. The same glittery orange backdrop was behind the three figures. Heads up, Swifties! 'Taylor Watch' podcast returns after hiatus

What if we told you "Taylor Watch" − the Barstool Sports podcast centered around Taylor Swift − is back? On July 15, hosts Kelly Keegs and Gia Mariano returned to the airwaves following a month hiatus. "Oh, you thought you could kill us! Nice try, haters," Keegs boomed at the top of the two-hour YouTube video titled "Episode 152." "We have risen from the dead, we do it all the time," Mariano jumped in, quoting Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" lyric. The two hosts debuted a new logo in a "Folklore"-esque font surrounded by stars, a microphone and a clapboard. Whether a rebirth or a resurrection, Season 2 started with an explanation of what happened since the show was canceled on June 4. Last month, Keegs told USA TODAY that copyright issues ultimately prompted Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy to pull the plug. "If you have a business account, which 'Taylor Watch' does count as a business account, and we are using Taylor's music − technically, it could be said that we are using her music to promote our brand, which is not allowed." Keegs told podcast listeners. Portnoy texted Keegs and Mariano on July 7 renewing their contracts and saying they could bring back the podcast. "It was so out of the blue," Mariano said. "He made things right." "The past is the past and all we're thinking about is the future," Keegs said. Mariano explained the solution will be for "Taylor Watch" to stay away from copyrighted music and videos and steer toward posting reaction videos. The show will return to a twice-a-week format with new episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays to dish on Swift news, commentary and Easter egg theories. "It just feels like a clean slate, a fresh start all around," Keegs said. Don't miss any Taylor Swift news; sign up for the free, weekly newsletter This Swift Beat. Bluebird Cafe employee debunks alleged Olivia Rodrigo dispute over Taylor Swift photo

The fandoms of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo are going head-to-head on social media after a video clip of an employee from a famous music venue misspeaking was posted online. "It's developed into this whole monster," Erika Nichols, the general manager of the Bluebird Cafe, tells The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network. The drama stemmed from a video posted to X on June 17. In the video, an employee is seen talking with some influencers about the history of the iconic destination where Swift was discovered in 2004. A photo of the Eras Tour singer on the back stage was from a limited-time exhibition of images by Deone Jahnke in 2008, according to Nichols. Swift also has a dedicated chair and headshot on another wall. this employee at The Bluebird Cafe said Olivia and her team asked them to remove any signs of Taylor Swift before she performed there. — 4x aoty winner (@gotlovesick13) June 18, 2025 Review: Olivia Rodrigo flaunts her sass, sensitivity on GUTS tour In 2023, Rodrigo played a quick afternoon set with Sheryl Crow. The two did an acoustic performance of "If It Makes You Happy." Internet sleuths tracked down the performance and noticed the poster of Swift was gone. When an influencer asked a Bluebird employee about Swift's missing picture, the employee said, "We vowed to remove any visible signs of Taylor Swift," adding, "We gotta respect the girlies." The remarks, which have accumulated more than 5.7 million views, sparked speculation that the photo removal was due to a request from Rodrigo's team ahead of her performance. "The truth of it is Olivia's people did not ask for the Taylor Swift picture to be taken down," Nichols says. "We did not take her headshot off the wall. We did not remove the chair that has her name. You can see on the video of Olivia and Sheryl that we have our Bluebird posters in the background. "This is something we do every time we have a professional filming in here. We're very careful not to use images that we don't have the rights to use. We remove them and put up our posters."
