Evansville's New Tech Institute to hold send off for robotics team
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Evansville's New Tech Institute will hold a send off for their first robotics team as they attend the first world championship in Houston.
The competition will start on Wednesday, and the public is invited to the event to wish the Thunderbots well this afternoon in the school's cafeteria.
They advanced by winning the statewide Engineering Inspiration Award earlier this month in Greenwood.
Senior Ava Roll and Principal Chris Gibson joined Daybreak to talk about the competition.
We're told the team's robot, Dr. Smith, is already on the way to Houston.
