Evansville's New Tech Institute to hold send off for robotics team
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Evansville's New Tech Institute will hold a send off for their first robotics team as they attend the first world championship in Houston.
The competition will start on Wednesday, and the public is invited to the event to wish the Thunderbots well this afternoon in the school's cafeteria.
They advanced by winning the statewide Engineering Inspiration Award earlier this month in Greenwood.
Senior Ava Roll and Principal Chris Gibson joined Daybreak to talk about the competition.
We're told the team's robot, Dr. Smith, is already on the way to Houston.

Owensboro workshop aims to help small businesses use AI for content creation
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Small businesses in Owensboro can learn how to utilize artificial intelligence to help its marketing strategies. The Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation is teaming up with the Kentucky Small Business Development Center, Wonder Boy Media and The Brew Bridge to host Marketing on Tap: Learn How to Use AI to Draft Better Content. The event will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Brew Bridge. It will consist of multiple panels, a hands-on workshop on ChatGPT, catered lunch, brew tasting and open networking. 'AI doesn't have to be intimidating,' said Jody Hulsey with KY SBDC. 'This training is all about helping people see how tools like ChatGPT can simplify what they're already doing, making content creation faster, smarter, and more effective.' More help available for residents dealing with flood damage Senate Bill 1699 would require the Secretary of Commerce to carry out a public awareness and education campaign on artificial intelligence (AI). The campaign would focus on the risks, benefits, and prevalence of AI in Americans' daily lives and would also provide information on practical applications for AI for small business owners. Governor Mike Braun says IN doesn't have enough electricity
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Indiana Governor Mike Braun says Indiana doesn't have enough electricity. At an investment forum this week, Gov. Braun said Indiana is not ready for the expanding manufacturing and technology sectors coming to the state with the 20 gigawatts of electricity utilities are able to produce. Data centers, which are popping up across the state, can take up one percent of that each. There are already four in Indiana. Rokita, Beckwith release Indiana's 'Churches' Bill of Rights' Gov.
