Oasis eye return to No.1
Oasis are eyeing a return to the top of the Official Albums Chart, as their greatest hits collection Time Flies… 1994–2009 surges up the rankings following the launch of their long-awaited reunion tour. The Britpop legends opened the Oasis Live '25 Tour with a sold-out show in Cardiff last Friday night (05.07.25), and interest in their back catalogue couldn't be bigger. The singles compilation – first released in 2010 – is now on track to return to Number 1 for the first time since its debut week. What's more, the band's seminal second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? – originally released in 1995 – is climbing fast, set to leap 11 places to Number 3. Their 1994 debut Definitely Maybe isn't far behind either, is looking at a 22-place surge to land at Number 4. But Oasis face stiff competition for the top spot. Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is just under 1,000 chart units behind Time Flies…, with her breakout album Short n' Sweet holding strong at Number 2 in the midweek update. Her recent performances at London's Hyde Park – part of the BST concert series – have helped propel the record back up the charts. With final positions confirmed on Friday, a chart showdown is looming between the Britpop icons and Gen Z's rising pop queen. Meanwhile, a new study has claimed Oasis earned a whopping £7 million from Spotify streams of Wonderwall alone. Casino comparison and analysis site La Planque Du Joueur conducted research and found that Wonderwall has earned £7,057,223 in streaming revenue, as of July 8, 2025. They used the average payout of $0.004 per stream to come to this conclusion, and Wonderwall has been streamed 2.3 billion times. Don't Look Back in Anger is the second highest earner with over 1.1 billion streams, generating £3,247,265 in revenue. Champagne Supernova and Stop Crying Your Heart Out are said to have earned them £1,449,431 and £1,378,028, respectively. The Top 10 songs - also including Married With Children, Live Forever, Stand By Me, She's Electric, Supersonic, and Slide Away - gave them a total of £16.8 million. Jean Morlec from La Planque Du Joueur commented: "These figures show that Oasis' music remains incredibly popular on streaming platforms, with Wonderwall standing out as one of the most streamed songs of its era. The band's top songs continue to generate substantial revenue more than 30 years after they were first released." "With the current reunion tour driving renewed interest in their music, we can expect these streaming numbers to climb even higher. Their back catalogue has become a valuable asset that continues to generate millions in revenue year after year."

Oasis Narrowly Misses Out On A New No. 1 Album
As Oasis prepares to launch its Oasis Live '25 Tour, Time Flies… 1994–2009 returns to No. 2 on the ... More U.K.'s Official Albums and Vinyl Albums charts. Group portrait of British rock band Oasis at Nomad Studios in Manchester, United Kingdom, 29th November 1993. L-R Noel Gallagher, Paul Arthurs (aka Bonehead), Paul McGuigan, Tony McCarroll,Liam Gallagher. (Photo by) On July 4, Oasis will kick off its first proper tour as a band in more than 15 years. The group, which has attracted as much media attention for the feud between members and brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher as for its chart-topping hits, is set to begin its Oasis Live '25 Tour in just a few days. The trek starts in Cardiff and includes dozens of shows throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Australia, and several countries in South America before wrapping in November. Just before launching what will surely be a top-grossing venture, Oasis recently released the remastered version of Time Flies… 1994–2009. The compilation almost hits No. 1 for the very first time on one tally in the group's home country, but misses out by a single spot. Oasis Barely Misses Out on a New No. 1 Album Time Flies… returns to the Official Vinyl Albums chart this week landing in the runner-up position. The title finds its way back to its all-time high point, which it originally reached just a few years ago. Time Flies… Stalls in Second Place Time Flies… also lands at No. 2 on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most consumed releases in the nation. Unlike on the vinyl tally, however, the Oasis compilation has previously led the main ranking, but only once. Oasis Soars Back Into the Top 10 The same collection can also be found inside the top 10 on three additional rankings in the U.K. Time Flies… reappears at No. 3 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, while lifting one space to No. 6 on the Official Albums Streaming chart. Oasis Misses the Highest Spaces on the Downloads List Time Flies… fails to crack the uppermost region only on the Official Album Downloads chart, where it rebounds at No. 28. The surge in interest among Oasis fans in the U.K. seems tied to physical formats, as the remastered version sold particularly well on CD and vinyl – both available on the band's website, while downloads appear to have generated far less excitement. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe Are Also Rising As Time Flies… returns to the top 10 on nearly every chart it has previously appeared on, two other Oasis albums are also climbing. (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe appear on multiple lists, and in almost every instance, they are soaring.

Sabrina Carpenter breaks British icon's album chart record amid controversy
Sabrina Carpenter has left a forever mark on the UK charts, breaking the record for the longest consecutive streak in the top five album chart. Her hit album, Short N' Sweet, has now spent a massive 43 consecutive weeks at the top, according to the Official Charts Company. The 26-year-old singer's achievement officially topples Ed Sheeran from the top spot. Sheeran's 2021 album, =, had a record-setting 42-week stay in the top five, a claim which he managed to hold onto until Sabrina's album came along. Oasis have stormed back into the UK albums chart, climbing to number two with their greatest hits collection Time Flies… 1994–2009, as anticipation builds for their upcoming Oasis Live '25 reunion tour. The Britpop icons, who disbanded in 2009, officially confirmed their return in August 2024. The long-awaited tour kicks off in Cardiff this July, with major shows lined up in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Topping the UK albums chart for the first time this week is musician James Marriott, whose debut album Don't Tell The Dog takes the number one spot. The news comes just days after Sabrina revealed the cover for her upcoming album Man's Best Friend, which sparked enormous backlash. The image, which depicts Carpenter on her knees, in a short black dress and heels, holding the leg of a suited man as he yanks her hair, is shocking many fans. On Instagram, @edersoaresx wrote, 'Lol this cover art is so disgusting. As a fan I don't like it :(.' Reddit user Potential-Friend-133 said, 'The first image is very triggering for me. I hate this. A LOT.' More Trending Others have argued that the album cover is satirical or even a moment of political commentary. On the singles chart, Alex Warren reclaims the top spot with Ordinary landing at number one, followed by Sabrina Carpenter's latest hit Manchild in second place. Ravyn Lenae's Love Me Not holds steady at number three, while Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club remains firmly at number four. Got a story?
