It's official: four more famous restaurants join Time Out Market Budapest
Scheduled to open this autumn, Time Out Market Budapest will bring together the best chefs and restaurants from all over Hungary's capital and beyond, all under one roof. Eleven award-winning and emerging local restaurateurs will be offering the crème de la crème of the city's food scene, and we recently announced the first four. Anyukám Mondta is bringing traditional Italian flavours and family recipes, Pingrumba a taste of the East and 101 Bistro modern Taiwanese cuisine, while Szaletly will be serving the finest examples from the contemporary Hungarian kitchen. Now, a further four restaurants have officially joined the roster – here's what they're bringing to the table. CANTEEN Kicking things off is István Pesti, who earned two Michelin stars with his restaurant in Tata. Now, he has created a new concept exclusively for Time Out Market Budapest and rather than fine dining, traditional Hungarian flavours will be coming to Budapest in the shape of CANTEEN, whose menu includes lip-smacking dishes like goulash soup, Viennese veal schnitzel and chicken paprikash, all topped off with a classic, hearty apple pie. Casa Christa Also among the new names is Casa Christa, a restaurant showcasing the Balaton region, whose every plate evokes the atmosphere of Hungary's bucolic lake getaway: sun-baked slopes, wine cellars and seasonal produce freshly sourced from local markets. For Hungarians, this is where to head for a hit of holiday nostalgia. In addition to these perennial favourites, characteristic dishes of the Balaton Uplands will be served – think fresh fish, regional specialities and reimagined classics created from local ingredients. Bigfish Bigfish will bring fresh flavours and a seaside feel to the heart of Budapest as part of Time Out Market. Expect seasonal seafood specialities, freshly shucked oysters, British-style fish and chips, and premium-quality sushi directly sourced from the largest fish markets in Europe. Tuning Burger The fourth name? That'd be none other than Tuning Burger, once the title-holder of Hungary's Best Burger. This place has raised the concept of hamburgers to a whole new level thanks to exceptional ingredients and flavours. Patties are crafted from matured meat, artisanal buns and homemade sauces, and visitors will find market specialities like Hungarian grey cattle, Hortobágy Angus, Wagyu or Omaha meat. Favourites like the mango chutney, the truffle foie gras, the Umami burger and the award-winning Leicester burger will all be on the menu. What to drink at Time Out Market Budapest To wash all that down, Wines of Hungary will be representing the country's 22 brilliant wine regions at one wine bar counter, with the expert help of sommeliers. We can expect to see big names as well as new varieties, so head here for a sip of an old favourite or some crisp, fresh drops. Cheers to that!

Four restaurants are now confirmed for Time Out Market Budapest
Italian family recipes, Oriental adventures, Taiwanese street food and reimagined Hungarian classics – the first four restaurants at the hotly anticipated Time Out Market Budapest have been revealed. One of the world's most exciting gastro-cultural concepts, Time Out Market is being unveiled in Budapest on the first floor of the iconic Corvin Department Store on Blaha Lujza tér. This 2,500-square-metre space will house 11 restaurants, three bars and five event venues accommodating a total of 540 visitors – and that's just the beginning. The market's goal is nothing less than to bring the city's most exciting culinary and cultural players under one roof – and now we can finally introduce the first four restaurants confirmed for the opening. Anyukám Mondta Anyukám Mondta, from the little town of Encs, has been a key player in Hungarian gastronomy for the past 30 years, and now for the first time it will find a permanent home in Budapest. The Italian dishes of the Dudás brothers, Szabolcs and Szilárd – such as the Margherita DOP pizza or the Parma ham and burrata focaccia – combine a special family history and high-quality ingredients. Pingrumba For those who prefer the punchy flavours of India and the Middle East, Pingrumba should prove a particular favourite. Their inspired cuisine, with echoes from Cairo to Calcutta, showcases freshly grilled dishes, bold pairings and exciting spices. 101 Bistro 101 Bistro transports you to the world of a modern Taiwanese bistro: their dishes combine Chinese, Japanese and Western influences, all fine-tuned with Hungarian ingredients. Sichuan spinach or shou pa chicken are already considered cult dishes in Budapest, and duly find their place on the menu. Szaletly The fourth name, Szaletly, is one of the most authentic representatives of contemporary Hungarian cuisine. The restaurant's credo is built on the respect for gastronomic tradition, with classic fishes like casserole, poppy-seed dumplings and goulash soup recreated with modern flair by chef Dániel Bernát. What to drink at Time Out Market Budapest You'll need a bevvy to wash all that down, right? Fittingly, Dreher Tanksör beer – a name synonymous with Hungarian beer culture – will be satiating thirsty visitors at Time Out Market Budapest. It'll be served directly from the source, fresh and unpasteurised.
