MARATHA LIRC celebrates Independence Day with ‘Tiranga' series of events
In the run-up to the 79th anniversary of India's Independence, the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MARATHA LIRC) conducted a series of patriotic events under the able leadership of Brigadier Joydeep Mukherjee, Commandant, MARATHA LIRC. These celebrations reflected the regiment's steadfast devotion to the nation's ideals and the enduring camaraderie among its ranks. Festivities began on 13 August, with the Tiranga Cycle Rally, promoting physical fitness, environmental awareness and national pride. Participants pedalled through designated routes, proudly carrying the tricolour and inspiring onlookers with their enthusiasm. On 14 August, the Tiranga Run brought together officers, JCOs, and other ranks in a spirited display of discipline, teamwork and vitality, symbolising both physical preparedness and unity of purpose. The celebrations culminated on 15 August with the Tiranga Yatra, a vibrant rally that showcased regimental pride and collective resolve. Together, these three events formed a fitting tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our forebears, reaffirming MLIRC's unwavering commitment to the values and unity of the nation.

Govt primary school, Bassapur celebrates I-Day Govt Primary School, Bassapur of Belagavi taluk celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and community spirit on Friday. The event witnessed the active participation of students, teachers, and local leaders who came together to honour the spirit of freedom and the sacrifices of national heroes. The national flag was hoisted with due reverence, followed by a series of cultural and patriotic programmes presented by the students. Inspirational speeches delivered by the students highlighted the importance of independence and the role of youth in building the nation. To encourage academic excellence, Rakhi Kulakarni presented a memento and cash prize to the 7th class first and second rank holders of the school. In an effort to promote sports and physical activities among children of the pre-primary section, Vikram Patil, Nagappa Bagewadi, Chambanna Ullegaddi, Jagadish Pujari, Chandru Chachadi, and Siddanna Bagewadi generously donated various sports items to the school. Delhi Minister Ashish Sood leads Tiranga Yatra in Janakpuri
Delhi education minister Ashish Sood on Wednesday led a Tiranga Yatra in his Janakpuri Assembly constituency, which saw participation of hundreds of school children and youth, all rallying behind one common goal - to foster national unity, promote respect for the national flag and strengthen bonds of brotherhood across the country. The march, which began from C1 Block and concluded at Dabri Chowk, saw enthusiastic participation of school children, local residents, and political leaders. Accompanying him was BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, along with hundreds of local residents waving the national flag in a symbolic show of unity and national pride. Speaking at the event, Minister Ashish Sood said, 'All the religious, social, and political organizations of Janakpuri, along with these young children who want to contribute to a Viksit Delhi, a Viksit Janakpuri, and a Viksit Bharat, participated in the Tiranga Yatra to fulfill their duty towards the nation.' The rally reflected a broader message of development and civic responsibility, with children and youth prominently leading the walk, holding aloft the Tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans. Lawmaker Kamaljeet Sehrawat also interacted with residents along the route, encouraging civic participation and awareness. The event concluded with a brief address at the Dabri Chowk, where leaders reiterated their commitment to community-driven development and nation-building. Earlier on Sunday, in a spirited display of patriotism and youth energy, Ashish Sood flagged off the grand 'Tiranga Run' from Thyagraj Stadium. The event, organised by the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, witnessed the participation of 7,900 students and youth who ran from Thyagraj Stadium to the National War Memorial, holding the Tricolour high in honour of India's freedom fighters and martyrs. India will be celebrating its 79th Independence Day on August 15, marking the day when it gained freedom from the British in 1947. The main function is held at the Red Fort, where the Prime Minister hoists the national flag.

Students, locals take part in ‘Tiranga Run' by Lalit Kala Akademi
Lucknow: The Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Aliganj, under the Ministry of Culture, organised a 'Tiranga Run' on Tuesday in association with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls PG College and the Uttar Pradesh Folk and Tribal Culture Institute. The event was part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The run began at 10am from the college campus, passed through Puraniya and the Lalit Kala Akademi premises and returned to the starting point. Students, local residents, cultural groups and folk artists carrying the national flag and raising slogans participated in the event. People along the route welcomed the participants, waving the tricolour. Akademi's regional secretary Devendra Kumar Tripathi said: "The aim was to encourage citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes and strengthen unity." The event was attended by Prof Jayant Khot, president of the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Netaji Subhash College Principal Prof Rashmi Bishnoi. Over 7K students join ‘Tiranga Run' for I-Day
NEW DELHI: As part of the government's 79th Independence Day celebrations, 7,900 students participated in a 'Tiranga Run' from Thyagaraj Stadium to the National War Memorial on Sunday. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta also led a Tiranga Yatra in Rohini to mark the occasion. Flagged off by Education Minister Ashish Sood, the run was organised by the Directorate of Education under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign and the theme 'Dilli Uthe Garv Se'. Holding the national flag, participants covered the route to pay tribute to freedom fighters and armed forces personnel who sacrificed their lives for the country. Sood said the Tiranga Run was not merely a race but a celebration of India's unity, patriotism, and the indomitable spirit of its citizens. He urged people to unite for a clean, strong, and prosperous India, calling it a tribute to unsung heroes and a movement of unity with the slogan: 'Run for Freedom, Run for Unity.' Recalling the courage of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, Sood encouraged youth to uphold unity, integrity, and national security. In Rohini, the procession saw participation from residents, RWAs, youth groups and local leaders. Waving the tricolour and chanting slogans, they walked from Naharpur Market to Azad Kabadi Chowk. The Speaker said, 'The Tiranga is the pride of our nation, a symbol of sacrifices, sovereignty, unity, and constitutional values. This Yatra honours their legacy and reaffirms our collective duty to build a stronger, united India.'
