Students, locals take part in ‘Tiranga Run' by Lalit Kala Akademi
The event was part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The run began at 10am from the college campus, passed through Puraniya and the Lalit Kala Akademi premises and returned to the starting point. Students, local residents, cultural groups and folk artists carrying the national flag and raising slogans participated in the event. People along the route welcomed the participants, waving the tricolour.
Akademi's regional secretary Devendra Kumar Tripathi said: "The aim was to encourage citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes and strengthen unity."
The event was attended by Prof Jayant Khot, president of the UP Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Netaji Subhash College Principal Prof Rashmi Bishnoi.

CM conducts Har Ghar Tiranga rally in Cuttack
Cuttack: Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a 10km-long 'Har Ghar Tiranga' rally from Brahmapur Chhak to Kalapada in Cuttack on Thursday, where thousands participated. The rally was part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign held from Aug 12 to 14, aimed at instilling pride and respect for the tricolour. The CM flagged off the procession in an open jeep, holding the national flag high, while hundreds of bikers, each carrying the tricolour, followed with chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. New Delhi, The government, through the Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation under the Ministry of Culture, has recently launched a significant initiative to compile and maintain a comprehensive, "national-level dynamic database" of public libraries across the country, Parliament was informed on Monday. In another query, the Union minister was also asked about the details, along with a list of complaints from January 1, 2020, regarding illegal constructions or encroachments in protected and regulated zones of state and centrally-protected monuments in Goa, such as Old Goa, Harvalem, Aguada, including the names of the monuments, sites, locations of illegality, complaint date and actions taken. In his response, Shekhawat presented a tabulated data, according to which four of the five such incidents related to centrally-protected monuments pertained to Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa. This is a highly-revered and iconic heritage site in the coastal state. "With regard to an illegal construction undertaken in regulated area of the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, the Archaeological Survey of India issued a notice dated 22.03.2022 and lodged a complaint with the local police station. Subsequently, a show cause notice was issued on 24.04.2025. Copies of both the notice and the show cause/removal notice have been forwarded to the district administration for its removal," read the details shared in the tabulated response, against the first incident related to the Basilica of Bom Jesus. Another complaint on the list pertained to the Se' Cathedral in Old Goa. "ASI issued a notice dated 28.11.2023 regarding illegal construction in prohibited area of Se' Cathedral, Old Goa and also lodged a complaint with the police station. Subsequently, a show cause notice was issued on 24.04.2025. I-Day celebrated with fervour and community participation
1 2 Kanpur: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated in the city with full patriotic fervour and dedication. The national flag was hoisted at all government buildings and residential houses under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, as well as in schools and colleges across the district. Political parties also celebrated Independence Day amidst their followers. The Independence Day programme began with Prabhat Pheris organised by various schools in the city. Political parties, voluntary organisations, and cultural organisations also participated in Prabhat Pheris. Divisional commissioner K Vijayendra Pandian hoisted the tricolour at the commissioner office and emphasised the need to purchase Indian-made goods to encourage Swadeshi.
