I tested the EA FC 25 gameplay to see what the Season Finale Update changed
Some big gameplay changes were made in EA FC 25 Title Update 15, so I put it to the test to see what's got better, or worse EA Sports has released its Season Finale update in EA FC 25 with big changes to passing, heading, and goalkeeping, but how different does the game actually feel? The EA FC 25 gameplay and meta has changed multiple times since its release last year, and after EA Sports dropped Title Update 15 earlier this week, the game has started to feel different for players once again. From first-time through balls to long-range trivela shots, there's been a host of different ways to create chances and score goals in EA FC 25, but the EA FC 25 Season Finale update has claimed big changes have been made to short passing, heading and goalkeeping specifically, which could see the meta shift again. Headers in attack have been nothing short of useless in EA FC 25, killing the overpowered Aerial meta that we saw in EA FC 24. But, improved header accuracy is one of the biggest updates in Title Update 15, so this meta could be making a comeback. Another big change is that players with high passing stats will now be able to complete ground passes more regularly, regardless of PlayStyles, and the fact that they couldn't is something which we've complained about in the past. Lastly, goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle are not as overpowered when rushing off their line, so the acceleration has been dropped. So, how accurate are these changes and has the Season Finale update refreshed the meta in EA FC 25? Let's take a look... READ MORE: First UFL PC release date confirmed with PC play-dates and requirements revealed EA FC 25 Season Finale update review We jumped onto EA FC 25 for a few hours to test out the Season Final update and see if we could really feel these gameplay changes in-game. Ground passing To test out if ground passing had improved for players with high passing stats (it's crazy this even needed an update), we first jumped into Clubs, building one pro with 91 passing and zero passing PlayStyles to see how good he was at passing. We've tested this out before to prove how overpowered PlayStyles were, and the pro with no passing PlayStyles struggled. Well, to put it simply, ground passing wasn't much of an issue, and it has improved. My player was able to make accurate passes along the floor, mainly short distances. Under pressure, my pro was able to squeeze passes through tight spaces, and even though there were still some issues with first-time passes, it was way more accurate than before. I then jumped into Ultimate Team, where I mainly used an Evolved Conor Bradley (I'm a Liverpool fan, I only evolve Liverpool players so don't judge) with all the passing PlayStyles, two passing PlayStyle Plus' and 90 passing against an Evolved Trey Nyoni (again, don't judge), with just one passing PlayStyle but 90 passing. In Ultimate Team, there did seem to still be a big gap between passing ability, even though they both had 90 passing, but it wasn't like Nyoni was unusable. All in all, passing has improved, but PlayStyles are still extremely important. Heading Sorry to say it, but heading still feels useless following the update. Players with high heading stats, the Aerial PlayStyle and/or the Power Header PlayStyle never consistently got headers on target in attack, with plenty blazing over the bar like we've seen in the past. Now, I did notice that from corners I was winning headers way more often, but the accuracy just wasn't there, so it doesn't look like the Aerial meta is returning. Is that a good or a bad thing? I guess time will tell. Goalkeeping Goalkeepers are weird. Some games, my 'keeper with Rush Out PlayStyle Plus could feel rapid off his line and make crucial saves, and sometimes, a poppadom would've been just as useful between the sticks, and this was before the update. But after the update, my 'keeper does feel slower, just like EA wanted. To me, goalkeepers were never overpowered in the first place, and it didn't seem like a crucial update that needed to be made, but now it's here, I can't say that it makes much of a noticeable difference, so there's no need to worry here. Elsewhere, the game felt pretty much the same. No new metas have seemed to appear from the hours I have spent on the game, so this 'major' Season Finale update doesn't really that major after all.

EA FC 25 patch notes – passing, heading and PlayStyles upgraded in big update
EA FC 25 Title Update 15 is available now for players on PC, PlayStation and Xbox and Nintendo Switch The latest, and potentially final, set of EA FC 25 patch notes has been released by EA Sports, with some big gameplay changes being made in EA FC 25 Title Update 15. As Season 7: Team of the Season comes to a close, EA Sports has revealed a new set of EA FC 25 patch notes for players to feast their eyes on, with EA making some of the biggest changes we've seen since Title Update 10. Titled the 'Season Finale Update', the latest set of EA FC 25 patch notes are focused on making changes to gameplay based on community feedback, specifically to passing, heading, and goalkeeping. Along with the gameplay changes, some updates have been made to Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and the main menu, while the Season 8 Premium Pass rewards have also been revealed. These are the EA FC 25 patch notes for EA FC 25 Title Update 15: Season Finale. EA FC 25 Title Update 15 patch notes EA announced EA FC 25 Title Update 15 in the latest set of patch notes, and by the title, it seems safe to say that this could be the last major update of EA FC 25 as EA starts to turn its attention towards EA FC 26. The biggest change in the update has been to the gameplay, with a big fix being made to ground passing, meaning players with high passing stats will be able to complete ground passes more regularly, regardless of PlayStyles. We've recently spoken about how PlayStyles have started to ruin gameplay, so it's good to see EA also noticing these issues. Heading has also been improved in Title Update 15, and this was a much-needed change, with headers almost useless when trying to score goals. Goalkeepers, specifically goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle have also been nerfed, and in Ultimate Team, the maximum number of PlayStyles has been increased to five, the biggest it's ever been. EA FC 25 Title Update 15 is live now on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch. Here are the EA FC 25 Title Update 15 patch notes in full: Gameplay Updates Improving Ground Passes For Skilled Passers In the Season Finale Update, we've made the following passing change based on your feedback: Moderately increased Ground Pass accuracy for players with high Passing-related Attributes. This change does not impact Driven Ground Passes. With this change, we're looking to reduce the gap between players who can be excellent passers thanks to their high passing-related Attributes, and players who have passing-related PlayStyles. We want both types of players to be able to perform great passes. Of course, passing is still impacted by everything you'd expect, including clean inputs and defensive pressure on the passer. We want passing to feel authentic in FC 25, and we want players who pass the ball well in real life to pass it well in our game too. Reduced GK Rush Out PlayStyle Effectiveness We've tweaked goalkeepers in the Season Finale Update based on your feedback: Slightly reduced the rate of acceleration for goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle+. Significantly reduced the rate of acceleration for goalkeepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle. We've seen and heard from you that the keepers with the Rush Out PlayStyle+ were overly effective at closing down attackers. Naturally, we don't want to take away the ability of goalkeepers to rush incoming attackers, but with this change, our goal is to create more balanced one-on-one situations and encourage a wider variety of defensive strategies. Improving Header Accuracy We've seen your feedback about wanting headers to be a more viable attacking option, so we made the following change: Slightly increased the accuracy of headers performed by the shooting input. While nobody wants every single header to be a goal, we've seen the need for increasing the effectiveness of headers in FC 25. As always, we'll continue to look at your feedback on headers and all other gameplay aspects of FC 25. Ultimate Team Updates Season 8 And A New Premium Pass It's almost time for Season 8 in FUT, and it'll be kicking off on Thursday, June 5. The new season also brings a brand new Premium Pass to FC 25, and we've listed everything you can expect from it below. We have updated our Playstyle+ Evolution Consumables requirements for Season 8! In the Standard Ladder, the requirements for the Playstyle+ Evolutions will be: Max 95 OVR, Max 9 Playstyles, Max 3 Playstyle+. In the Premium Pass, the requirements for the Playstyle+ Evolutions will be: Max 96 OVR, Max 9 Playstyles, Max 3 Playstyle+. If you want to know about the Season Pass and how it works in-game, be sure to check out our Pitch Notes on it, complete with an FAQ section. Increased Maximum Amount Of PlayStyle+ Assignments With the Season Finale Update, Player Items can now have up to five PlayStyle+ in Ultimate Team. We're making this update so we can provide you with a larger variety of Player Items going forward. You may notice that you can now gain up to a maximum of five new PlayStyle+ as rewards through Evolutions, or certain Player Items show more PlayStyle+ UI indicators. Of course, this doesn't mean that every Player Item with multiple PlayStyles+ will have five of them, it just means that five is the new max. Career Mode, Main Menu, And More As part of the Season Finale Update, we're adding the final set of Live Start Points for FC 25, plus you can now play as the following ICONs in Player Career: Birgit Prinz George Best Johan Cruyff Garrincha In Manager Career, you will now be able to play 5v5 Youth Tournament Matches in co-op, up to four players, via the addition of the Side Select functionality.
