Report – Inter Milan Not Planning To Keep Argentina U21 Star Despite Zalewski Sale
Inter Milan are still not planning to keep defender Tomas Palacios this summer despite the sale of Nicolas Zalewski. Inter Milan only signed Tomas Palacios last summer. However, in his first season at the club the Argentine simply never convinced. Palacios spent the second half of last season on loan with Monza. Meanwhile, it has long looked to be a matter of when rather than if Inter would offload the 23-year-old this summer transfer window. Inter Not Planning To Keep Palacios Despite Zalewski Sale In the meantime, however, Inter have agreed a deal to sell Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta. The Polish international wingback departs despite having only joined on a permanent basis this summer. That means that Carlos Augusto is likely to have more responsibilities in the team as a backup centre-back to Alessandro Bastoni. Therefore, there could very well be a certain logic to keeping Palacios. This would give Bastoni more backup, and would free up Augusto for the wingback position with Zalewski gone. Nevertheless, reports FCInterNews, Inter's plans have not changed with regards to Palacios.

Report – Villarreal & Rayo Vallecano Eyeing Up Deal For Fringe Inter Milan Defender
Villarreal and Real Vallecano are reportedly both keen to sign Inter Milan defender Tomas Palacios. This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that both La Liga clubs would have to make sales before they can sign the Argentine, however. Defender Tomas Palacios joined the Nerazzurri last summer. They reportedly paid a fee of over €10 million to sign him. However, so far Palacios has not exactly become a fixture in the Nerazzurri team. The young defender received only a couple of brief run-outs off the bench for Inter last summer. Then in January, Tomas Palacios joined Monza on loan. (Photo by) The intention for Palacios's loan at Monza was clearly for the young defender to receive more playing time. And the Argentine did certainly feature more than he had for Inter. However, at the same time, it was a difficult environment for Palacios. The Brianzoli were in a spiral towards relegation, and so it was often more experienced defenders who started. In any event, Tomas Palacios is back at Inter this summer after the end of his loan at the U-Power Stadium. Inter and Basel had been in talks for the Swiss side to sign Palacios on loan. However, those talks stalled out due to the inability of the two clubs to agree upon a fee. According to FCInterNews, though, there are two Spanish clubs keen on Palacios. Villarreal and Real Vallecano are both considering a move for the 23-year-old. FCIN report that Inter would want to loan Palacios out with a purchase option at €5-6 million.

Report – Just Two Players Missing From Inter Milan Squad For Friendly Clash Vs Olympiacos
Tomas Palacios and Davide Frattesi are the only two players out of the Inter Milan squad for tomorrow's friendly match against Olympiacos. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Palacios will be absent for transfer-related reasons. Inter Milan will face Greek giants Olympiacos in a friendly match tomorrow. It will be the Nerazzurri's final warm-up match of preseason. Inter begin their Serie A season next Monday with a match against Torino. Therefore, Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu will be keen to use this final opportunity to sharpen up his squad for the challenges ahead. (Photo by) According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Chivu will largely have a full squad at his disposal. However, one notable exception will be defender Tomas Palacios. The 23-year-old is expected to leave Inter this summer. He is close to completing a loan move to Basel. Therefore, there would be little reason for Palacios to participate in tomorrow's match, not least considering the risk of jeopardizing his loan to Basel.

Revealed – Potential Transfer Fee On Inter Milan Star's Loan Move To Basel
Inter Milan could receive a fee of €6 million for defender Tomas Palacios as he closes in on a loan to Basel. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that that is the purchase option in the deal. However, Inter also have a buyback option. Inter Milan are already prepared to say goodbye to defender Tomas Palacios after just one year at the club. Inter signed Palacios last summer. He was arguably the first signing that really heralded a switch in focus from relying on veteran players to investing in younger players. However, the Argentine has never really managed to establish himself at Inter. Palacios spent the second half of last season on loan with Monza. However, it was a relatively inauspicious loan spell for the 22-year-old.
