Report – Inter Milan Not Planning To Keep Argentina U21 Star Despite Zalewski Sale

Yahoo3 hours ago
Inter Milan are still not planning to keep defender Tomas Palacios this summer despite the sale of Nicolas Zalewski.
Inter Milan only signed Tomas Palacios last summer. However, in his first season at the club the Argentine simply never convinced.
Palacios spent the second half of last season on loan with Monza.
Meanwhile, it has long looked to be a matter of when rather than if Inter would offload the 23-year-old this summer transfer window.
Inter Not Planning To Keep Palacios Despite Zalewski Sale
In the meantime, however, Inter have agreed a deal to sell Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta.
The Polish international wingback departs despite having only joined on a permanent basis this summer.
That means that Carlos Augusto is likely to have more responsibilities in the team as a backup centre-back to Alessandro Bastoni.
Therefore, there could very well be a certain logic to keeping Palacios. This would give Bastoni more backup, and would free up Augusto for the wingback position with Zalewski gone.
Nevertheless, reports FCInterNews, Inter's plans have not changed with regards to Palacios.

Eagles get receiver John Metchie III from Texans for tight end Harrison Bryant, AP source says

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired wide receiver John Metchie III from the Houston Texans for veteran tight end Harrison Bryant, a person with knowledge of the trade told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the teams haven't announced the deal. Metchie had 24 receptions for 254 yards and one touchdown last season. A second-round pick in 2022, Metchie missed his rookie season while being treated for leukemia. Bryant had nine catches for 86 yards last season in Las Vegas. He spent his first four seasons in Cleveland. He averaged 22 receptions and 198 yards receiving per season with the Browns. Metchie joins a deep receiving group on the reigning Super Bowl champions led by A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. ___ AP NFL:

Barcelona star spotted back in training ahead of Levante clash

A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Sunday spotted back in training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick's squad. The player in question? Robert Lewandowski. Frontman Lewandowski was for his part forced to sit out on Saturday night, as Barcelona got the club's La Liga campaign up and running in a meeting with RCD Mallorca. As much came after the Pole picked up a muscular issue during the final week of the Blaugrana's pre-season preparations. The initial expectation was that Lewandowski would likely be ruled out for several weeks, potentially missing Barca's first three fixtures of the season as a result. After word was forthcoming earlier today that the former Bayern Munich man was ahead of schedule in his recovery, though, further positive news has since followed. As showcased below, Lewandowski managed to play his part in some of the group activities at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday morning. The hope, in turn, is that the veteran goalscorer will be cleared to play his part against Levante next weekend. Conor Laird – GSF
