My 5-year-old bargain hair straighteners leaves my hair shiny and are now under £30

If you want to invest in some reliable straighteners you don't actually have to break the bank, because the Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straighteners are currently reduced from £51 to £27.99 at Boots. I bought them about five years ago in the Boots Boxing Day sale and they're still going strong after all this time, keeping my hair silky smooth on days when I fancy straightening it, and the control in my hair usually lasts for as long as I need it to before washing it again. I also love that with these straighteners they don't take a huge amount of time to kick in, like other similar products such as the Babyliss Straighteners - Rose Blush or the Toni & Guy XXL Advanced Ionic Tourmaline Wide Plate Hair Straightener. For money-saving tips,. Before these, I'd used some classic Babyliss hair straighteners but had always found that they didn't really keep my hair straight for long enough, or really have an effect unless I smoothed over each section of hair a number of times, whereas the Remington straighteners have an instant effect. The Advanced Ceramic coated plates on these super smart straighteners are also infused with Moroccan Argan Oil, a natural ingredient renowned for its shine enhancing properties, as well as Vitamin E, conditioners and moisturisers. When heated, these wonder Micro Conditioners evenly emit through the plates and on to your hair, leaving it intensely glossy and according to Boots, in 88% better condition, softer and straighter. Before trying them myself I was a bit sceptical about the argan oil element, and wondered whether it would make any difference at all, but I can confirm that the difference is super noticeable and leaves so much more shine, as well as leaving hair feel more well cared for. With its nine different temperate settings you can tailor the heat to suit your hair type. For hair that is more sensitised or damaged, you can use lower temperatures, or for thicker hair that needs a boost, you can dial the temperature up for smooth results that last from morning to night. The floating plates also ensure even pressure on the hair for professional results and its fast 15 second heat up time is great for getting ready in a hurry. Remington Session Stylist Chris Appleton says: 'Ultra glossy hair is all over the catwalks at the moment, so to achieve hair that positively shimmers and shines definitely recommend the Shine Therapy Straightener. 'With its whole host of sheen enducing ingredients that Remington has infused in the plates, customers agree that it makes hair 94% smoother and sleeker.' If you want to give your hair an added layer of softness, I would also recommend using a Leave-In-Conditioner - I usually go for the Sheamoisture Hydrate & Repair Multi-Action Leave-In-Conditioner Manuka Honey & Yoghurt which you can currently get for £8.24, reduced from £10.99 at Boots. You can get the straighteners which are currently on sale at Boots here.

New golf simulator and shop to open on Aberdeen's Union Street

A new golfing simulator and shop is set to open on Aberdeen's Union Street. Signage has appeared on the door and windows of 377 Union Street last week, which advertises The Granite City's 'all-in-one' golf destination. The venue will bring new life to the shop unit that has been vacant for more than 10 years. The venture is being launched by Golf Academy Aberdeen, however an opening date is still to be confirmed. Posters placed on the outside advertise a number of services set to be available at the Union Street centre. Golf Academy Aberdeen will offer golfing lessons, as well as a putting area with sand bunkers. A golf pro shop will also be included, with repair and club fitting services promised. A post was also published on the brand's Facebook page – which confirms the upcoming opening. A Golf Academy Aberdeen spokesperson said: 'This is your all-in-one golf destination. 'Whether you're just starting your golf journey or fine-tuning your game, we provide the tools, technology, and expertise to help you reach your full potential. 'Our facilities combine cutting-edge Trackman simulator technology, professional coaching, retail, and repair services to deliver a complete golfing experience.' The Golf Academy will open between the former Toni & Guy unit and Skills Development Scotland. The site had been advertised by FG Burnett after being vacated by former occupants Careers Scotland in 2011. It was listed at a sale price of £250,000 with rental options available on request. Golf Academy Aberdeen was contacted for comment. The news comes after a surprising mess of pipes was discovered to be making delays to Union Street's renovation 'unavoidable.'
