(AP) — Dan Gherezgher Jr. had 19 points and No. 7 seed Northern Kentucky beat tenth-seeded Detroit Mercy on Tuesday in a Horizon League Tournament first-round game. Northern Kentucky (17-15) will face No. 2 seed Cleveland State in a Thursday quarterfinal. Gherezgher shot 5 for 11 (3 for 7 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line for the Norse. Trey Robinson scored 18 points and added five assists and three steals. LJ Wells and Josh Dilling added 16 points apiece. Orlando Lovejoy led the way for the Titans (8-24) with 21 points, four assists and three steals. Mak Manciel added 13 points for Detroit Mercy. TJ Nadeau also had 11 points. The loss was the Titans' seventh in a row. Northern Kentucky took the lead with 14:59 remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it. Gherezgher led the Norse with 14 points in the first half to help put them up 49-37 at the break. Northern Kentucky pulled away with a 12-0 run in the second half to extend a six-point lead to 18 points.

(AP) — Martaz Robinson's 26 points helped Delaware State defeat Coppin State 83-79 on Saturday. Robinson added six steals for the Hornets (15-12, 7-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Robert Smith scored 20 points while going 8 of 18 (3 for 7 from 3-point range). Kaseem Watson went 6 of 11 from the field to finish with 12 points. The Eagles (5-22, 3-9) were led in scoring by Toby Nnadozie, who finished with 29 points, four assists and two steals. Julius Ellerbe added 16 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals for Coppin State. Khali Horton also had 14 points. NEXT UP ___

(AP) — Trey Thomas scored 23 points as Bethune-Cookman beat Alabama State 70-68 on Monday night. Thomas shot 7 for 12 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line for the Wildcats (13-15, 10-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Kalil Camara added 10 points and seven rebounds. Daniel Rouzan had nine points. The Hornets (13-15, 9-6) were led by Antonio Madlock with 23 points and eight rebounds. Amarr Knox had 17 points and CJ Hines pitched in with 13 points and four assists. ___

(AP) — Donovan Dent and reserve CJ Noland both had 19 points in New Mexico's 87-65 victory over Colorado State on Wednesday. Dent added six rebounds for the Lobos (19-4, 11-1 Mountain West Conference). Noland shot 7 for 7, including 3 for 3 from beyond the arc. Nelly Joseph shot 4 of 9 from the field and 10 for 13 from the line to finish with 18 points. The Rams (14-8, 8-3) were led in scoring by Rashaan Mbemba, who finished with 17 points. Colorado State also got 15 points from Kyan Evans. Nique Clifford also put up nine points, 10 rebounds and five assists. NEXT UP ___
