Queen Hits No. 1 Again In America As The Band's Newest Bestseller Disappears

The group scored a new win last week thanks to a Record Store Day release with an EP of very early demos. That set is no longer available, as it appears to have sold out its limited run. It was issued exclusively on physical formats and sold only in brick-and-mortar locations, as is the case with most titles shared for the music industry initiative. As that title disappears, Queen's Greatest Hits becomes a bestseller again and climbs on multiple rankings, even returning to the throne on one Billboard tally. After collecting a new bestselling album title last week, Greatest Hits returns to two purchase-focused Billboard rankings. The compilation blasts back onto the Top Album Sales chart at No. 41. It arrives in that position and returns to the tally with a little more than 2,200 copies sold. That sum is actually down slightly, by just over 3%, from the previous period, but the list is not as competitive this time around, so even a dip in sales can aide a project in a comeback. The band's beloved collection is also back on the Vinyl Albums chart, which is similarly centered around purchases but only includes that specific format. Queen reenters that tally at No. 21. This frame, Greatest Hits also appears on four other rosters. It ranks highest on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, where it lifts one space and returns to No. 1. In doing so, it replaces Nickelback's The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1, which steps down to the runner-up slot. The record has now spent 194 frames at the summit of the list of the most popular hard rock collections in the U.S., which is one of the most impressive accumulations of weeks at No. 1 on any Billboard roster. Greatest Hits also returns to the top 10 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking, bolting from No. 11 to No. 8. It climbs one spot higher on the Top Rock Albums chart as well, after sitting down at No. 10 last frame. The singles-packed compilation also finds room once again on the Billboard 200, where it returns to the uppermost quarter of that fiercely competitive tally, stepping up from No. 55 to No. 50. The British rock outfit's Greatest Hits has earned hundreds of weeks on each U.S. chart on which it currently appears. At the moment, it has spent the least amount of time on the Vinyl Albums tally, though even there it has racked up 217 frames, which is still a large enough sum to make it one of the most successful titles on that list. On the Billboard 200, the project has now amassed 644 stays. It also passed a decade on the Top Album Sales chart several months ago.

Linkin Park Fans Will Never Be Done With The Band's Debut Album
No matter how much time passes or how many new songs emerge, Linkin Park will always be defined, at least in part, by Hybrid Theory. The band's debut full-length not only introduced its nu-metal sound to the world, it helped shape a generation of alternative and hard rock fans. More than two decades after it first arrived, the album is still a regular on Billboard's charts, and this week marks another exciting chapter in its story. Hybrid Theory finds space on five different Billboard rankings this week, which is relatively rare for a project released in 2000. The beloved effort returns to four of those tallies and makes an especially large leap on one more. The collection reappears highest on the Top Alternative Albums list, where it blasts back onto the tally at No. 18. It's not too far behind on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rosters, returning to those rankings at Nos. 22 and 28, respectively. Hybrid Theory even manages to claw its way back onto the Billboard 200. On the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S., the title finds a home at No. 130. The only Billboard list Hybrid Theory doesn't have to reenter is the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, where it remains a mainstay. This time around, the blockbuster doesn't just hold steady, it jumps. The set lifts from No. 22 to No. 5, charging back into the uppermost tier. Hybrid Theory lands just one rung behind Meteora, the band's sophomore project and longtime companion on these rankings. That effort dips slightly to No. 4, giving Linkin Park two titles inside the top five. According to Luminate, Hybrid Theory shifted 10,700 equivalent units in the U.S. last week. That total includes streaming, sales, and other forms of consumption. Just under 1,500 copies of the album were sold as pure purchases — an impressive number for a full-length that many fans already own, either digitally or physically. Hybrid Theory hasn't just shown up on Billboard's charts from time to time, it's been present on many of them for years. The project has racked up hundreds of weeks on each of the five tallies it currently appears on. It's spent the most time on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, where it's now up to 420 frames and counting. On the Top Rock Albums ranking, it's logged 272 weeks. On the other three lists where it's present, the album has also earned somewhere in the 300-week range, though exact counts vary slightly. Hybrid Theory is one of four Linkin Park albums that show up on at least one Billboard tally this week in the U.S. Its immediate successor Meteora joins it on all five of the same lists. Meanwhile, both Papercuts, the band's recently-released greatest hits compilation, and From Zero, the group's comeback effort, appear on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart only. Hybrid Theory first arrived in October 2000 and introduced the world to hits like 'In the End' and 'Crawling.' Since then, the album has been certified Diamond by the RIAA and become one of the most important rock releases of the twenty-first century.

The classic album is back on the Billboard charts this week, and it isn't just quietly returning. A massive sales spike has propelled the legendary rock release to new peaks, and while it may not be the band's highest-rising title of all time, it's one of the group's longest-charting, and it clearly still matters to a large number of fans all around the world. The biggest jump for Paranoid this week comes on the Vinyl Albums chart. The beloved set returns to No. 11 on that wax-focused ranking. That position now stands as its best showing ever on the roster, which focuses solely on the bestselling vinyl titles in the nation. It misses the top 10 by just one rung, but that's still an impressive accomplishment for a title that was first released back in 1970. On the Top Album Sales chart — Billboard's list of the bestselling releases of any genre or format in the U.S. — Paranoid returns at No. 25. That's another new personal best for the favorite from the heavy metal pioneers. Paranoid also reappears on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, which only ranks titles that fall under that specific genre umbrella. While the set doesn't manage to soar higher than ever before on that roster, it does tie its previous best. This time around, the set is back at No. 17. Even if Paranoid hasn't reached new heights across every tally on which it appears, the title is becoming one of the longest-running wins in the band's discography. On the Top Album Sales chart, the LP has now spent 11 weeks on the ranking, making it Black Sabbath's third-longest-charting title. Over on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Paranoid earns its sixth stay, which is just enough to push it past The Ultimate Collection and stand in second place among the group's longest-running efforts on that list. On the Vinyl Albums chart, the classic collection is now tied with 13 as the band's most persistent success story. Both of those titles have now racked up four appearances on that ranking. According to Luminate, Paranoid sold a little more than 3,800 copies in the U.S. last week. That's a huge jump from the frame before, when only around 700 albums were sold. That represents a 453% week-over-week increase in pure purchases. This week's gains weren't random. Paranoid was just reissued in a special black vinyl, which was only made available in limited quantities. Only a few thousand copies were offered for sale, but that was more than enough to send it back to the Billboard charts – and in impressive positions, as well.

No matter what he releases, who he collaborates with, or how much time passes, the guitarist will always be considered a legend. This week, he proves that fact once again. Page returns to Billboard's charts in America thanks to a collaborative live project. Not only does he break onto two important tallies, but he also earns a spot on one that, surprisingly, he's never appeared on before as a soloist. Live at the Greek, a collaborative live project from Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes, launches this week at No. 19 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. This set marks Page's first solo appearance on this Billboard tally. Given his legacy and involved discography, many might assume the guitar icon had conquered this genre-specific list years ago — but somehow, that's never been the case until now. Of course, this isn't Page's first time on the Top Hard Rock Albums ranking altogether. As a member of Led Zeppelin, he's helped the band score 10 appearances on the list. Six of those have climbed into the top 10. The most successful entries are Mothership and Celebration Day, both of which spent eight weeks each at No. 1. Live at the Greek is one of just two brand new entries on the Top Hard Rock Albums list this frame. The roster is led by Coheed and Cambria's The Father of Make Believe, which opens in first place. Most of the other albums that return to the list this week are familiar favorites returning to the tally, including Paranoid by Black Sabbath (No. 17), Vicennial: 2 Decades of Seether (No. 20), Mötley Crüe's Greatest Hits (No. 23) and Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park (No. 25). While Page is new to the Top Hard Rock Albums list as a soloist, this latest debut also benefits The Black Crowes. The group doubles its total number of appearances on the ranking with this release. The band's only other entry came back in 2021, when the full-length Shake Your Money Maker soared to No. 6. Beyond its debut on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Live at the Greek also re-enters two additional Billboard rankings this week. It blasts back onto the Top Album Sales chart at No. 13, reaching a new peak in the process. Just one space below, it also returns to the Vinyl Albums tally. According to Luminate, Live at the Greek sold 6,400 copies in the past tracking frame. That's an impressive figure for a decades-old title, one that recently found new life thanks to a reissue on vinyl.

More than two decades since its release, the band's breakthrough album is still a favorite among a huge number of people, and, occasionally, one of a handful of hard rock titles that can be found on the Billboard charts again. While it's not unusual for catalog titles to see periodic resurgences, this time around, The Sickness isn't just returning, it's hitting new peaks – something that's not commonly seen for projects that have celebrated a twenty-fifth birthday. The legendary hard rock album is back, and it's currently spread out across six different Billboard rankings in the U.S. this week. It's brand new to three of them, and it reappears on another three. Most impressively, The Sickness reaches a new all-time high on nearly every list where it returns. On the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, the collection rises to No. 8, its best placement ever. Over on the Top Album Sales list, it soars to No. 12, marking another career-best for the title. Of the two charts where The Sickness rises higher than ever this week, its tenure on the Top Album Sales list is significantly longer than on the other list. The album has now spent an impressive 106 weeks on that tally. Its history on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart is comparatively brief. The collection has only made three appearances on that ranking in the past, making this week's return even more notable. The Billboard 200 welcomes The Sickness back once again, but this time, it lands far beneath its personal best. The set re-enters the all-genre ranking at No. 151, well below its peak No. 29. In addition to its reappearance on multiple rankings, The Sickness debuts on three Billboard charts. The highest placement among those where it counts as a new arrival comes on the Vinyl Albums list, where it opens at No. 12. The set also scores a solid entrance on the Top Alternative Albums ranking, starting at No. 19. It similarly finds a home on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums tally, coming in at No. 32. Disturbed recently re-released The Sickness once again, adding another version to the album's long list of editions. The latest iteration celebrates the album's twenty-fifth anniversary with additional tracks from that era, and fans have clearly embraced the updated package. In the past tracking week alone, The Sickness sold 6,200 copies across the U.S., according to Luminate. That sum is enough to help it beat many more contemporary titles, which is not a given for a quarter-century-old effort.
