Ten Omani tourism companies are participating in the expo and workshops with the aim of exchanging knowledge and expertise and exploring trends in the global tourism industry. The event, held annually in Moscow, constitutes one of the largest tourism exhibitions in Russia and Eastern Europe. It brings together outstanding tourism industry experts from different parts of the world. Haitham Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director-General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, explained that the ministry attaches great importance to participating in international tourism exhibitions, considering them a vital platform for enhancing the Sultanate of Oman's presence on the international stage. He pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at the exhibition reflects the Omani architectural style in its design, while using the latest technologies to display content that promotes the Sultanate's tourism assets. He said that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism aims, through its participation in international tourism exhibitions, to achieve a number of objectives, most notably enhancing the Sultanate of Oman's presence in the largest international exhibitions in the travel and tourism sector, introducing developments related to the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman, meeting with the largest international tourism companies and institutions, and discussing joint cooperation to increase the number of tourists coming to the Sultanate of Oman through these companies, and creating an important promotional and economic platform for Omani tourism companies and institutions, including small and medium enterprises. Oman to showcase tourism potential at ITB Berlin
Muscat – Oman will highlight its tourism potential at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world's largest travel and trade exhibitions to be held from March 4 to 6. The sultanate will also launch a tourism advertising campaign in Germany targeting key locations in Berlin and Frankfurt coinciding with the event. Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and over 55 Omani tourism and hospitality entities will participate to promote the sultanate's cultural heritage, diverse travel experiences and investment opportunities. Strategic partners, including Oman Air, Oman Airports, Omran Group and Visit Oman, will support the participation, which aligns with the government's efforts to position the sultanate as a key global tourism destination. The focus will be on attracting European tourists and promoting sustainable development in the sector. According to Haitham Mohammed al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion, participation in ITB Berlin will consolidate Oman's presence on the world tourism map. 'The exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase Oman's tourism investment potential and experiences while fostering collaborations with Germany and other participating countries,' he said. In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he explained that the ITB Berlin, one of the world's largest travel and tourism exhibitions, will be the next stop for the ministry following its notable success at the International Tourism Exhibition in Madrid. He noted that participating in these exhibitions presents a significant opportunity to introduce the latest developments in Oman's tourism sector and open channels of communication with major global tourism companies and institutions to explore avenues for cooperation. Additionally, Oman will participate in specialized global exhibitions such as IMEX in Germany, focusing on incentive travel and conferences, and Sea Trade in the United States, specializing in marine tourism. Alongside participating in these exhibitions, the ministry will organize a series of mobile promotional workshops in targeted markets in the GCC countries, East Asia, and European countries. These workshops aim to strengthen relationships with local and international partners in the tourism sector, explore cooperation opportunities, and sign strategic partnerships. The workshops will feature visual presentations about Oman's diverse tourism attractions and meetings between Omani tourism institutions and major tourism companies in these markets to enhance collaboration and explore contracting opportunities with specialized tourism companies.
