
Oman unveils 2025 global tourism promotion plan
Haitham bin Mohammed al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion, emphasised the significance of international events in positioning Oman as a premier travel destination. Following a strong presence at Spain's FITUR, Oman will now participate in Germany's ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel trade show.
Oman's tourism delegation will engage with major global travel companies to boost visitor numbers and investment in the sector. The plan includes participation in 15 international exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the US, including ATM Dubai, ITB Asia Singapore, and WTM London.
Additionally, Oman will organise targeted promotional workshops in the GCC, East Asia, and Europe to strengthen ties with industry partners, promote Omani tourism products, and attract strategic investments. These efforts align with Oman Vision 2040's goal of diversifying the economy through a robust tourism sector. — ONA

Oman launches promotional tourism workshops in Jaipur, India
JAIPUR: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman launched a series of promotional tourism workshops today in Jaipur, India, with participation from Omani tourism institutions, establishments, and airlines. The workshops will run until August 21. The three-day event features bilateral meetings between Omani tourism representatives and their Indian counterparts, alongside comprehensive presentations on Oman's tourism offerings and opportunities for collaboration. The workshops come amid a continued increase in Indian visitors to Oman, which reached approximately 623,623 in 2024. These numbers underscore the importance of India as a priority market in Oman's tourism strategy, reinforced by strong historical, cultural, and commercial ties between the two countries. Oman's tourism sector also recorded strong performance in 2024, welcoming 3.9 million visitors from January to December. Yusuf bin Khalaf al Majizi, Assistant Director of Market Development at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said the Indian market is central to Oman's promotional plans due to its large and diverse traveler base. 'India shares deep historical and cultural links with Oman, which makes it easier to promote tourism and build sustainable connections,' he added. Al Majizi noted that choosing Jaipur, one of India's major economic and tourist hubs, highlights the ministry's commitment to expanding international partnerships and strengthening Oman's presence in emerging markets. The event also allows direct engagement with leading travel companies and showcases Oman's unique offerings, from rich cultural heritage to varied natural landscapes. The ministry emphasizes presenting Oman as a multi-season destination, offering experiences across adventure tourism, heritage and nature tourism, wedding tourism, incentive and conference tourism, and luxury hospitality combining tradition with modern comfort. Meetings to discuss detailed budget estimates for fiscal year 2026 concludes
Muscat: The Ministry of Finance on Monday concluded meetings to discuss the detailed budget estimates of government entities for the fiscal year 2026 and the financial framework of the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030). These meetings are part of the Ministry of Finance's commitment to aligning the financial requirements of government entities with annual plans and preparing the draft state budget for the fiscal year 2026, as well as preparing for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030). The meetings aimed to examine the current status of the state budget's implementation for the fiscal year 2025, discuss the recurrent and development budget estimates submitted by government entities for the next fiscal year and align them with the entities' annual plans, and prepare budget documents based on a program- and performance-based budget. Additionally, the meetings discussed the initial estimates for the financial framework of the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030), in a way that achieves the annual goals of government entities and the social and economic objectives of the upcoming five-year development plan, in line with the national goals and programs of "Oman Vision 2040". More than 68 meetings were held at various senior and executive administrative levels. Some estimates were also discussed at the ministerial level, based on the nature of new projects or additional social and economic requirements of the upcoming five-year plan. These meetings were held as part of the Ministry of Finance's keenness to prepare the draft state budget in an integrated manner with various government entities, enhancing consistency between financial requirements and the goals of annual plans. This is in line with the government's direction toward achieving spending efficiency and the sustainability of public finance indicators. The Ministry of Finance affirmed that the government is moving forward with supporting the social and economic sectors through a balanced approach that links social and economic requirements with available financial resources and alternatives.
